Great Top 10 - Love seeing some of my favourite games in this "10" - Cascadia, Dune Imperium, Tapestry, Terraforming Mars, Ark Nova, Everdell... and one of our most current favourite games to play - Dorfromantik. I haven't played Gaia Project yet, but someone in our games group has requested this to be played this month, so I'll have to jump into this group game. Thanks for sharing your Top 100 lists, so many great games.

Everdell for me will always be special as well. Got me and my housemates through a lot of nights in lockdown. Totally agree with jess's thoughts on it re exploring more board games.

Great video! I've subscribed to your channel. I was wondering how hard it was to put the stickers on the Everdell meeples? I have both the stickers and the meeples, but I'm a perfectionist, and I'm so worried I won't be happy with the result if things don't line up/ I mess up with the stickering.

Just start with whichever one you like the least and you'll get the hang quickly. I (Shawn) and also a perfectionist and I'm happy with 99% of them. The big ones were the hardest for me. But also give yourself like 2 hours to do it. We watched a whole Star Wars movie with two of us doing it.

I noticed you put Lost Ruins of Arnak and Dune Imperium on your lists. I have Arnak, but have debated on getting DI for a long time. Would you recommend both, or both with the expansions for someone like me who wants a different gaming experience. Or are they too close gameplay?

They do both combine deck building and worker placement, but they use it in such different ways that there is certainly space for both of them. For Dune I would just start with the base game though, as it is terrific that way already and then add the expansions each time you want to kick it up a notch. Also you could wait a couple of months for Dune Uprising which is like Dune 2.0, and tweaks the base a game a bit and still works with the expansions.

So... plenty of games in the same video, but no exact overlap in all 100 games for both of you! That's quite impressive!! These lists make me want to push Cascadia & Planet Unknown to the top of my wishlist, and put Dune Imperium on the list lol. I also really want to get into Gaia project more. I've played 3 times and I can see myself getting really into it. Like, is there an online tournament level community for it... that into it! Do any of you play any of your top 100s in tournament settings/online communities? One thing that makes me curious following this video... I currently hold the opinion that Everdell was one of the games like Catan... where the expansions were largely something to pass. Base Catan is best Catan, for sure. And I thought the same for Everdell. But you two seem to hold the Everdell expansions in a good light? New Leaf in particular?

I (Shawn) was shocked that we didn't have on exact crossover. I was so ready to celebrate. We don't play in any competitive scenes. We both like to win, but neither of us like to take things too seriously. That said I've done some of the competitive side of BGA and that was fun, that might be a great place to look. For Everdell we always say Bellfair is the best one to get if you just want to enhance without changing, but New Leaf is great if you want both added stuff and some enhancing. The others are fun too, but make bigger changes that you wont always want. Bellfair is the one you'll just mix in and never look back.

Barenpark and Gaia Project on my list to play someday! Totally agree w Jess on Everdell too. Always love your top 100 - we watch all of them start to finish!

Both of those are on BGA also, so you can try them online before buying them.

Great vid. Tapestry is a game I don't own (yet) because I have some euro purist friends that spit on anything not-beige, but I have been hankering to get it. You may have just pushed me over the top. Also, Love seeing anachrony and Dune up there too.

@AlliesorEnemies haha good point. I think it may be more the "randomness" and perceived imbalance in the starting civs. But to me, the variability jazzes me up more than a bit of imbalance could ever wreck.

Glad to see Dune at #2! I'm about 30 games in and it's currently my favorite game. 4 player is absolutely amazing. So intense. How's Gaia Project at 2? Is there a lot of player interaction?

Gaia Project feels like it is kind of Terra Mystica made for 2/3 players. The modular board pushes people together so there is definitely competition for spaces. There is still a lot of room to do your own thing, but it is far from multiplayer solitaire.

My tastes are very different from yours, but I would recommend your channel to everyone. You explain yourselves so well, I still get great information even though we don’t appreciate the same things (theme, mechanics, et cet). I try to find (and follow) reviewers that like what I like, but you explain yourselves so well, I get great information even though we don’t appreciate the same qualities. I think that makes board gaming awesome, and you guys are definitely awesome! (I know you’re not both guys. I’m old, please forgive my incorrect politicalness).

Honestly by the time we got to number one, I think both of us would have made a bunch of changes. So it is kind of a loose list. Great to see another fan of Ganymede. That game flies under the radar, but it is soooo good.

Great list of games. My only comment comes from my wife and she says that you guys should switch seats. The balance of the shot would be better if you switched. Keep up the great videos.

The only common game with my top 10 is TERRAFORMING MARS! So many games ... So very different tastes!

I'm really fighting to get my partner to like everdell, but I spoilt her with ark nova and she can't look back 😅, plus she kicks my ass everytime so that helps her judgement

I just wish I was in your game group.. I enjoy most of the games you have on your list but I don't have the ppl that share this appeal
