The m3 can be great sometimes but it would be so much better if you could turn the spotlight off as an alternative fire mode for daylight maps which is most of them. I completely agree with the c93 though same problem with the po8 in bf1

@@KommieKaze the problem is, you can't compete in cqb with the frommer stop/sawn off, and at mid distances the p08 artillerie/m1911 extended are better alternatives. I think the pieper should accomplish this long range paper that any tanker/pilot weapon does, maybe like a sort of nerfed mondragon, bit it ends up being inferior to everything else other than the c93 carbine.

@@togrulhuseynli7600 what i mean is: tanker/pilot class is in a disadvantage at long range because non of their guns are competitive at long range. This spot of "long range tanker class" could have been used for pasive players (probably campers) and that's why i guess they rather make the pieper a slow firing mid-short range weapon (pretty useless unless you are fighting against a terrible sniper upclose) instead of, as i said, a nerfed mondragon. I think it was worth the shot anyway but meh, it has been four years at this point, it doesn't matter.

Kris is all "this gun is rubbish" whilst the video feed behind demonstrates kills after kills :D I'm just glad none of the guns I like were listed! Great video brother, keep up the great work!

I'd just like to add another terrible primary to the list - SR 338 from BF4. Absolutely atrocious. It took about 6 or 7 shots to kill... Not because the bullets did little damage, but because they simply would not hit the enemy, even if your aim was good.

Best thing about the M3 Infrared is actually the suppressor. If you position yourself well, nobody will know where they're getting shot from. The scope itself is obviously terrible and if it could be swapped to another type or even give an option to turn off the IR filter and just use it as a normal scope, the gun would be much better

This is excellent, but I think the GROZA-4 is actually very good because it has stats that you may not realize excel in multiple circumstances. It is a PDW AND a bullpup so it has the best spread while moving. That's both hip-firing and ADS. Unlike the other PDW's, excluding the ASVAL and PDW-R to an extent, it's damage range is competitive with AR's and Carbines, and beats most of them up close. Though many like the ASVAL and PDW-R more, the ASVAL isn't the best at reaching, since it bounces so much and fires too fast with that small magazine, making it less effective when you run up on groups. Accuracy is key with the higher damage, smaller magazines, at range and you will be less likely to run out of bullets with a similar slower firing weapon like the GROZA-4, but not as slow as the UMP45. Plus, the ASVAL's hipfire isn't as good. The PDW-R is a good PDW at range and is only less controllable than the GROZA-4 when not burst firing, plus the GROZA-4 has advantage on starting damage and can have the Vertical grip attachment, improving that spread even more, making it more accurate than a suppressed PDW-R can ever be. Finally, the GROZA-4's recoil is actually not bad, it's average, and better than average when tap-firing, because it's first shot multi is THE LOWEST of the automatics, tying with the RPK-74. When you need to spray and pray, the recoil won't matter because you will be close enough that the excelling hip-fire will save your day. Of all the fully automatic primaries in BF4, the gun with my highest accuracy is the Groza-4. So, and this will sound controversal but trust me, it will improve anyone's k/d with the Groza-4. Run it with a vert grip, laser sight, and a 3.45x optic. This will help you at range, since anything within 25m you can hipfire and likely outgun. It's stable enough in bursts with an optic making it a great all-round option. It's not bad, just misunderstood.

It’s not terrible it’s just woefully outclassed in almost every situation vs other CQC weapons. I played around with it for a bit and it definitely has some serious killing power up close. But it is a very wonky weapon without much of a reason to choose it over other Assault class favorites such as Hellriegel, Automatico, MP18, etc.

I don't know why but I always loved the pieper. It literally has nothing going for it because if you start moving around at all the spread becomes awful. And the slow rate of fire and mid to low damage. And of course only 9 rounds. But I truly do love it. One for the looks but 2 because I do actually enjoy it and do decent with it.

In bf1 it was my Go-To weapon of choice because of virtually 0 kickback and it was a headshot machine once you got used to it, I never understood the distaste for it

Most badass looking gun next? Like the 1887 from BFH or the Single Action Army from BF1 (peacemaker)

For the m3 all they needed to do was to make the infrared scope a specialization and rename it.

in fairness, the Pieper is a cool gun in concept - a revolver/rifle/thing, it’s just a bit bad. i would say the S2-200 does have its uses - it probably is down there, especially within the MMG category, but imo there’s not really any primary weapons that objectively suck in bfv (other than maybe the AMRs) and it can still shine in certain situations

Every gun shown on here are guns that I have consistently used throughout all my time in the series (other than the bf5 guns, I stopped playing after 2 weeks of that filth)

I don't think any MMGs from BFV should be in the list, because the "MMG" weapon class is the worst piece of trash they ever implemented in Battlefield. Such a mechanic does not fit the absurd fast pace this game has adopted since the last few entries, and made iconic weapons like the MG34, MG42 or the Browning completely pointless.

On top of all the bad side of HCAR stat-wise, It also had the worst muzzle flash in the game. The gun needs a flash hider or suppressor to aim properly while unable to use the most OP attachment in BFH, the heavy barrel.

Yet another well-produced and well-presented video. I largely agree with your list, but I will say that the S2-200 is possibly the most overlooked gun in BFV IMO. If you use it in the right way, it can be absolutely devastating in close quarters. I don’t even bother using its bipod most of the time; I tend to use it more like an SMG. If you use the quick reload and light bolt specializations, you basically have the 900RPM Thompson - but with 30 rounds instead of 20, greater or equal damage at all ranges, more controllable horizontal recoil, 2x faster bullet velocity, the same < 2 second reload time, and a bipod.

I realize this is a matter of opinion, but in the case of the M3 IR vs the M1 carbine; the M3 scope, although difficult to use at first, has a much clearer sight picture than the M1's irons or scopes. The suppressor it pretty handy for plinking mid to long range targets without them realizing where they are being shot from the fact that it is essentially an assault weapon on the recon class is pretty remarkable, it's great for aggressive pathfinder recons exploiting flanks and placing beacons. And despite the stats being identical to the M1, I am utterly awful with the M1, but do great with the M3.

I used to be number one with the Pieper on PC. First person to beat me was a friend doing a 1k kill challenge, then some others after the game's life cycle. I like odd guns and this one was too interesting to pass up. I'd love to have one irl, but just like almost everything in BF1... yeah there aren't too many around anymore.

The problem with the s2-200 is it's not an actual MMG in real life it's a light machine gun it should get aim down sights without needing to go prone it's actually similar in weight to the Bren gun like one pound heavier I think

I recall the HCAR to be really good, even overused in BFH on PC due to its low recoil & large mag (though the large mag is not that important on a weapon class that reloads near instantly). Maybe it was just that amazing sound. Then again, the HK 51 was also pretty accurate and also had a silly burst fire mode. In the S2-200's defence, it is practically the Autoloading 8 (BF1 .35 version) of the MMGs, having a maximum of 900 RPM whilst being the most accurate MMG, or at least on par with the M1919. It reloads pretty quickly too so I think it does make up for it but since MMGs are kinda. The low recoil on it makes it kinda effective at 'ADS' whilst moving, more than the other options (except the MG42 1200RPM which is nuts). Then again, I do think the MMG category, in general, is a mistake it being passive in nature whilst also being very situational (and annoying). So in essence, the other MMGs are more practical. Groza 4 had two good things about it, a really good damage model (matching the AS VAL) and godly hipfire but in a game were one could microburst anything (including the P90 which also has nuts hipfire and a 50 round mag), well, that's not that important. If only it had a fast reload, like the AS VAL. (Also BF4 doesn't scale the hipfire reticle to the FOV so if you change that, any hipfire will look inconsistent) Shotguns shouldn't exist in BFV (unless its like the 12 G in BF1) or it is telegraphed. I hate dying in one hit to stuff I cannot predict. The ones in BFV are especially unbalanced, the M1897 is literally a worse 12G, even if they are likely the best shotguns in the series (except BC2 when they were absurd) Carcano patrol is just... there for me. Nothing special about it imo. Just use the G.95. This is a problem I have with the carcano in general, with the only good thing about it being the extra round and having an infantry variant that also has nice hipfire, though that is not something useful on bolt actions when you have the Bodeo or No3. M3 IR is actually one I disagree with it. Yes, statistically its just a slightly worse M1a1 (due to the spec trees) but the fact that it has no muzzle flash, exists on a class that has a perk which spots enemies with each hit and best (or worst if you get killed by it) it is a long-range weapon that does NOT give hit indicators, meaning the enemy will never know what is shooting them, especially in a game designed to test one's eyesight. Add a bipod to that and you have the new, better MMG. Its one of the rare cases when something completely unique overshadows statistical inadequacy. It also reminds me of Return to Castle Wolfenstein, which is a good thing. Tanker guns in BF1 were never balanced correctly when introduced as 'normal weapons' (shame really they would have made interesting additions per class, like pistol carbines for Assault). The Pieper should have just been rebalanced as a medic rifle (Had suggested a shorter range RSC 2BTK with a higher fire rate, kind of like what the Model 8 is in BFV, all be it with a shorter range since it has 9 rounds). At least it looks cool. Phantom bow is just fun. Its a joke weapon but damn was it fun. Got like 2k kills with that thing. I remember discovering a secret about it though, which is that the Green dot is 0m, Red is 50 and yellow was a 100m. This worked surprisingly well, as well as it could for that thing I suppose. The C-93 carbine is the most useless thing ever, even more than the Phantom bow & even for a tanker weapon. A peashooter that doesn't let you aim. Fantastic. Don't know what the hell they were thinking with that insane animation, there is no other gun that does that. My picks w/o detail for BF4+ would be; - BF4 Practically all of the Assault Rifles in the 650 - 750RPM category, largely due the fact that micro bursting the Ace 23 was just better. There is some argument for the L85 and AUG for their faster movement whilst ADS though. - BF4 - A guilty pleasure, but the Ultimax was almost exactly like BF4's version of the Huot. The only problem is that, yet again, micro bursting makes such a weapon redundant in 90% of situations. The SAR - 21 also somewhat falls into this category but not to the same extent thanks to it being on Assault (medkits) and it also having way better hipfire and moving ads speed. - BF1 - There aren't any useless guns as such (other than tanker weapons) but some variants are completely pointless, like the Perino Defensive that literally does nothing better. - BFV - Funnily enough, also a game that doesn't have many useless weapons, though the Type 2A's silly ease of use 31 round 1200RPM pairing does make the more awkward 900 RPM M1928 and 981 RPM Suomi a bit redundant, even if the Suomi slightly beats it. - BFV The BREDA PG on burst mode (especially the higher burst rate [not click rate]) was butchered. To add insult to injury, it still holds the same ammo count as pre 'ammo attrition' changes, which is insane. Yes the single fire mode is quite good, but any fast-firing semi-auto is better by alot.

The S2-200 isn't the most accurate MMG since it's tied with the MG-34 for horizontal recoil and its vertical recoil is actually tied with the MG-42 so it isn't really all that great, not to say that it only has a 30-round mag which defeats the purpose of using an MMG. Also it isn't the fastest firing weapon in its category like the Autoloading 8 .35 to make it like a skill cannon. About shotguns in BFV, to be fair, if anything they are inferior in effect to BF1's shotguns (10-A Hunter being the monster in BF1, M1900 can fire both of its barrels at once vs the M30's rifle alt mode that can't OHK to the body, M97 in BF1 vs BFV, so on and so forth). Also shotguns are extremely close-range weapons so the sense that "you can't predict them" is somewhat questionable to me.

@@invictusangelica You are right on the S-200's accuracy but Horizontal recoil matters much more than vertical since it is quite 'brainless' to control vertical recoil via an input whilst horizontal recoil may require bursting. The S2-200 offers an extremely high rate of fire for its level of accuracy and the reality is that whilst the magazine capacity is lower than others, proper use of MMGs shouldn't really be constant firing as the constant orange flash would make you an easy target instantly. That being said, I don't think any MMG is that practical. As far as it not being the fastest firing, it's not THE fastest but for a gun with that low of an H-recoil pattern, it has the highest hit rate relative to its fire rate by alot. The BFV shotguns are much more consistent since their pellet pattern is the same every time (and fast movement helps shotguns alot). BF1's shotguns are no slouch either but are less consistent and both barrrel blast on the M1900 seems pretty useless, even if I love the Slug variant on that gun. They are not predictable since they have no obvious sound, icon or anything really. Snipers have glints at the very least.

@@MushroomCloudGaming For MMGs, yes you may argue that you should only fire until your gun has nearly overheated then retreat but then every MMG will still beat the S2-200 since each overheats at 51 or 76 rounds with Chrome Lining, beating the S2-200's 30. Also MMGs get less vertical recoil the longer you're holding down the trigger, plus MMGs have the Flashless Propellant spec to mitigate that orange muzzle flash. To use a shotgun one must run up to your face to blast you away with buckshot so that is the sound queue or the indication you are looking for: the footstep sound or the appearance of someone that is not an ally at too close of a range.

“honorable mention SR338”. SR338 is beast for long range sniping in HC. Bolt action snipers drop of to 59 damage beyond 160m, so they require two body shots to kill a target at full 60 HP. SR338 drops to 38 damage, so it's still two body shots to kill. And being semi, you can double-tap people. It's also one headshot kill at any range.

Not the best weapon (being quite finicky) but that high accuracy helps to make it effective over all ranges. You can pretty much spam the trigger and still stay on target quite easily in most gunfights

And the M3 is still bugged under DX12 with my 5700 Xt, while ADS the game crashes.

The VV scout rifle from BF1 is actually good! Standart variant has terrible sights, but carbine variant can actually fight in CQC/ It has: Even shorter range sweet spot than martini: 20-50 meters I think. 4 bullets instead of 1. Scope. Better hipfier-has a carbine weapons Agree with the rest

Idk why the c93 carbine is number 1, its far from the worst weapons in the games, in my opinion the c96 carbine from bf1 is worse, the toggle lock mechanism shouldnt get in your way that much if you use it at close range. The tanker/pilot weapons are pretty much meant for closer ranges. According to Kris you're better off using the phantom bow instead of the c93 carbine which I think is just absurd

The Chinese DMR you're thinking of is QBU-88. It has small mag (10 vs 20-25 all other DMRs) and long reload. But it's not completely useless, it has lowest spread and recoil in the class. If you're in a place you can take cover while reloading it's OK. Huot is the LSAT of BF1, what it lacks in punch it makes up in accuracy.

Yeah BC1 was the first I played. There's generally more variation in the newer games so I tend to mainly feature those, plus it's hard for me to get footage on BF3/BC

Seeing Carcano M91 on the list and Vetterli Vitali in the honourable mentions really triggers me. I always felt I could get most destruction done specifically with those out of all the sniper rifles.

@@KriticalKris I always liked using the patrol variant since it's pretty much as fast as the standard variant but also makes getting long range shots and fast headshots way easier. And the Vetterli Vitali fits for an aggressive sniper better than Martini Henry since it has the perfect sweetspot for aggressive play and you can make follow up shots with it. That's a blessing since the sweetspot fails so often, even with the Martini Henry. But as you said, it's all a matter of preference.

it’s still a neat gun - also technically there are two night maps, Narvik and Panzerstorm, they’re just only available in Airborne as part of grand operations. bit of a shame since night narvik especially was really nice with the northern lights illuminating the sky, but it’s a cool gun nonetheless

M3 is pretty good TBH. It's def not a long distance gun by any means but alotta ppl don't use sniper scopes either....actually it's my favorite Recon Pathfinder loadout gun... And for some reason I have an easier time hip firing with this than alotta other guns....maybe thay big Ace scope helps stabilize it...IDK... Maybe it's DICE Physics...

For me the most uselesss/ severely underpowered gun is the CBJ-MS in bf4, under PDW. Fires slowly and is not that great at range. Additionally, the damage is lacking. Only good thing about it is the mag size.

I play hardline on ps3 and the Hcar is one of the most popular guns for some reason

The Carcano would inmediately be one of the best weapons in the series if they had added it as the sexy original rifle and not the buttugly carbine . DICE really does hate me .

This is not a hate comment just an opinion. In my opinion M3 Infrared is the 1 of the best guns do to its 0 recoil very very spammable ability and it's far range with 0 to no drop off damage. I could see why many would hate gun because of its obstructive thing but I dont mind it. Btw Love the video:)

Thanks, statistically it's not too bad, but it's also identical to the M1A1 Carbine which doesn't use the obstructive scope

In my opinion the trench gun it m1897 is the second best shotgun other than the m30 drilling

The G95.m like every semi rifle is a superior choice

The absolute worst primary weapon in Battlefield is the BF2 RPK

Its sad to see the m97 on this list, its my go to weapon in both games its appeared in. But i gotta agree they ruined it in bfv

it was fine when they first added it to bfv imo, but it never got any particular changes which could have made it more relevant. it is pretty nice to use with slugs though, as far as slugs go - you can take people out from a decent range and it feels satisfyingly dirty to OHK a guy from like 30m with a shotgun

I love using all the garbage weapons, makes getting kills more satisfying; the meta is sad and boring. I generally agree with most of this but I feel the context of the M3 Infrared makes it actually a really good weapon. Previously, aggressive recons had to stick to Model 8 for the fastest-firing gun in the class, but it was pretty dangerous to use. No more! Now this spam-beast comes along, you can light up the sky or precise-position flares to give you a heads-up on enemy whereabouts, and then spray their faces off. Once you have a hit on them, the grey screen is actually a bonus because their dorito-spot stands out so much, it's super easy to track them. Couple that with very controllable recoil up to really far AND the fact that they have no clue where they're being shot from (suppressor = no damage indicator) ... I get serious work done with it! Personally I'd put the M28 con Tromboncino in there :) and the CBJ from BF4 ... damn marshmallow shooter ...

yeah, the suppressor and the bipod on the M3 IR actually make it pretty deadly if you get a nice position relatively close to an objective and just spam people with it - within like 50m it has a 2HsK model which is pretty devastating with a bipod that essentially allows you to spam with negligible penalties

P08 and Trench carbine used to act like extreme aggressive recon guns earlier before any kind of ttk change

Idk for other bf games but i have ~550h in bf5 and have lvl10 on every weapon and i can say that by far the worst guns in the game are commando carbine, con tromboncino, type97 lmg, type11 lmg, chauchat, ag/m 42, s2-200, ls26, k41 and rsc

Right I find it almost impossible to play this game without running into someone who uses this gun

I honestly do really well with the infrared

I wish we got the Carcano M91 Infantry instead of the Patrol; I want the Italians to have their actual standard issue rifle (SIR for Italy in BF1 is the RUSSIAN 1895)

Well... I dunno, I am doing pretty damn well with both M97 Trench Gun and the M3 IR carbine. The M1897 is my go-to weapon against Type2A cancerous tryhards.

the m1897 is fine, it’s a pretty standard shotgun - it’s just the other shotguns basically do a similar job but often better. obviously statistics aren’t actually everything despite what some people think - i don’t sit on sym.gg or whatever for an hour to pick my loadout, i just choose a gun i like/that fits the situation and use it - but statistically speaking the m1897 is probably the worst ‘typical’ shotgun

Yeah the Phantom sucks, but that hasn't stopped me from getting 78 service stars with it.

my brother and i used the M3 1 time decided it was trash. came back to it a week later to see who could get the most kills in a game with it! i won with 24 kills and 8 deaths

In a sense, though the RSC can rival a lot of the fast firing SMGs quite easily (having a solid TTK) whereas other guns would really struggle

@@KriticalKris It is usable but only at pointblank where you might as well use a shotgun. Cons: High recoil low mag size in combo with a long ass reload ,horible range and dropoff+ low reserve ammo. Pros: Kills fast in CqC (average tho) and a higher then usual headshot mutiplier. Imo its trash IRL and in game!

The Browning Auto 5 was much much worse than the 1897

I never picked up the C93 playing Battlefield 1, and now seeing it in action i'm glad I never did, thing looks genuinely awful to use.

Groza 4 worst weapon? WTF? It's one of the best and most versatile PDW along with UMP-45 in BF4 o.O Good in CQB due to higher damage and better than other PDW's in medium range because of slower fire rate and easy to control recoil

M3 IR shouldn’t really be on the list. As a side not it sees right through the storm on Hamada and Fjell while everyone is blind, best usage is there
