Ben Stiller in “DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story” White Goodman has a gym that body-shames people, and he has some rather gross and weird habits, too. The movie may be a comedy, but he’s not the kind of guy you’d want to play Dodgeball with.

Yeah! Also, as for Hugh Grant playing a villain. I liked him better as Forge Fitzwilliam in "Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Villains". Also, there's the Actors who play the Armitage family in "Get out" Bradley Whitford (Who played Mr. Armitage) Was best known for his comedy work, especially as Jake Peralta's father in "Brooklyn Nine Nine". Catherine Keener (Mrs. Armitage) was known for playing protagonists, particularly in "The 40 year old Virgin" and "Percy Jackson and the Olympians: the Lighting Thief" And Then there's Allison Williams, who played Rose; She was one of the protagonists on Lena Dunham's "Girls". Also, On the animated side There's: Kate McKinnon as Lulu the Guinea Pig in "DC: League of Super Pets" (Mckinnon was mainly known for playing off the wall funny characters in comedy films before this villainous turn) Chris Pine as King Magnifico in Disney's "Wish" (Chris Pine mainly played charming and likable good guys before this role) John Mulaney as Big Jack Horner in "Puss In Boots: The Last Wish". (Not all of Mulaney's roles may be straight up good guys, but this role showed him at his most villainous and unrestrained) Olivia Coleman as PAL in "The Mitchells Vs. The Machines". (She never played villains at all before this one)

He was truly disturbing in that role. He laid a foundation that will forever change how the Joker is portrayed, maybe ruining the role for anyone else. But as great as that role was, it wasn’t worth the damage it did to his mental health in the end. RIP Heath. 😞🙏

Better known to an older generation, Andy Griffith is best known for playing wholesome characters mostly on television, but early in his career he played sociopathic radio and TV personality named Larry "Lonesome" Rhodes in the movie A Face in the Crowd alongside sympathetic characters played by Patricia Neal and Walter Mathau. This is absolutely not the Andy everyone knew for most of his career.
@jameshillsjr5759

I've seen "A Face in the Crowd." Great movie, and a dynamic performance by Griffith, but he's definitely NOT playing the roles of either the friendly and lovable Sheriff Andy Taylor or the folksy but cantankerous Attorney Ben Matlock in that movie.

Speaking of Robin Williams, he was said to have been Joker in Tim Burton's Batman, but Jack Nicholson. And if Tim Burton had stayed for Batman Forever, he would've liked to have played Riddler. And finally, Williams had expressed on playing Gendo Ikari in a Live Action Evangelion.
*thumbnail* Rest in Peace, Robin Williams who portrayed memorable characters such as Genie and Peter Pan. He is free and returned home to Never Land.
Even though I’m able to separate actors from their roles! I feel those evil roles these actors play ruined them emotionally. Robin Williams as Sy Parish in One Hour Photo and Death to Smoochy said was too creepy for him and said he refused to let his family see those movies. Heath Ledger had a breakdown because of the Dark Knight, along with Joaquin Phoenix who was method acting in Joker.
I have a family connection to The Road to Perdition. The Paul Newman character was based on a real Mobster leader, John Loomey. My father used to deliver liquor to prohibition speak easy that paid money to Loomey for deliveries and protection.
I believe that "Django Unchained" is also a testament of Samuel L. Jackson's turn as a villain. Sure, he played unforgiving characters in the past, but I feel I can really pin the label of villain to Jackson in the Tarantino flick.
foxcatcher was so chilling.... the performance of steve carrell is uncanny
They all had great villain roles but Keanu Reeves had a villain role in Man of Tai Chi, he was something else when Keanu did this movie a businessman in Hong Kong who hosted illegal and deadly fights for profit. I recommend watching Man of Tai Chi, it's a great fighting movie that needs attention.

Cruise was the villain/antagonist in Interview with a Vampire 🤷♂️, but understand the pick
Fun fact: when Leonardo DiCaprio slammed his hand on the table in "Django Unchained" and shattered his glass, he cut his hand. The blood seen on his hand in that scene is his real blood. He got so into character that he didn't notice at first that he'd cut himself. I heard he also smears his blood on Kerry Washington's face at one point, but they might've switched to fake blood by then idk. Either way I heard he apologized profusely to her after they were done filming and checked to make sure she was ok
I read that Heath Ledger got so into character as the Joker that he had trouble getting out of character and had trouble sleeping, requiring medication. I also heard that the combination of that medication with other painkillers led to an accidental overdose which was what killed him.
Hugh Grant just played a villain again in the recent remake of Dungeons & Dragons that came out last year. Robin Williams also played a bad guy again in the movie August Rush.
The one that really caught me off guard was Patrick Stewart in Green Room
Don't forget when DiCaprio played the villainous & tyrannical King Louie in The Man in the Iron Mask
I will always appreciate Heath Ledger playing the Joker. Thank you. Also, watching Robin Williams playing a serial killer and other villain roles was scary.

RIP ROBIN WILLIAMS LEGEND [1951-2014]
Heath ledger did the movie candy. He wasn't a villain but he wasn't wholesome and good natured lol
Denzel has done a few truly evil roles. Training Day, American Gangster and He Got Game come quickly to mind. He might be at his most evil in “He Got Game”. The fact that his character would kill his wife and then use his son as a tool to get out of prison. Thats an evil man, especially the way he goes about “convincing” him. I think “Training Day” gets more attention than the other two because it won him an Oscar. He truly shows that he has immense range and can easily play either side.

He didn't Murder his wife. It was accidental. She hit her head after he pushed her during an argument.
"Road To Perdition"...excellent movie. Tom Hanks may have been a bad guy but he was GOOD.
I would’ve mentioned David Tennant as Kilgrave
Monique in “Precious” 💯
Denzel Washington did a fantastic job on his performance as the corrupt LAPD detective and won the Academy Award back in 2002.
God I miss Robin Williams.
Han Solo did surprise me in what lives beneath.
RIP HEATH LEGEDER LEGEND [1979-2008]
10:46-10:51 Fonda had describe in a few interviews that “Sergio Leone had cast me in the role because he could imagine the audience at that moment crying out ‘HOLY CRUD, THAT’S HENRY FONDA!’”
My addition: Michael Crawford. In his younger years, he often played wholesome characters like the White Rabbit in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (the 1972 movie) and Cornelius in Hello Dolly, then in the 80s, he played the Phantom of the Opera in the musical of the same name. I actually knew about his role as the Phantom first, so I had the opposite experience and felt like I was tripping seeing the actor of the Phantom in a bunny suit xD
It isn’t a well known role, but Burt Young’s role as the brutal disciplinarian father in Amityville 2 was a much darker role for him. He is best known for playing Paulie in the Rocky franchise.
Another example would be Macaulay Culkin in The Good Son, where he plays a psychopathic preteen boy named Henry who has murderous tendencies, usually he was known for his more comedic and child friendly roles and movies as a child actor.

I still think he deserved a mention for playing Elvis' shady and scheming manager, Colonel Tom Parker, in the "Elvis" Biopic.
A few more honorable mentions: Melissa McCarthy in "The Little Mermaid" remake, Daniel Radcliffe in "The Lost City", Jeff Bridges in "Iron Man", Michael B. Jordan in "Black Panther", and Jim Carrey in "Batman Forever".
Gregory Peck played a Nazi Doctor who had cloned Adolf Hitler so the 3rd Reich would rise again after the War , he was terrifying in Boys from Brazil . Lawrence Olivier played an escaped Nazi in Marathon Man with Dustin Hoffman as one of his victims . I was going to say Henry Fonda but you beat me to it . When he shot the little Boy in cold blood then smiled it made me feel sick . I would certainly mention Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal the Cannibal . Ben Kingsley was no Ghandi in Sexy Beast , he was a Psychopathic Killer .

Thank you for the update, WatchMojo..!! Barton FInk (1991) was weird but awesome movie to watch. I had no idea such a friendly man (John Goodman's character) was a.. (ops, that would be a spoiler..) 🤣 Anyway there was another weird movie involving a typewriter in a motel room featuring Ed Harris.

Yeah but tom hank's character was not evil. He was a mob enforcer but was never painted as the villain. Jude law and paul Newman were the villains. And Daniel Craig too technically
Albert Brooks, who is best known for comedy and as the voice behind the overprotective clownfish father, Marlin in “Finding Nemo”, went against type by giving a chilling and malicious performance as mobster, Bernie Rose in 2011’s action drama, “Drive”.
Robin and Heath were phenomenal in all their roles. those legends will always be missed.
Another clip (available here on KZread) has Fonda interviewed on his getting the role of Frank and what Leone was going for. It's a sign of Sergio's style that he turned down Henry's changing up his appearance for the filming and that when Fonda watched that scene with the gang slaughtering that family in the screening he realized that the incongruity was the point: _The camera pans around and people say, _*_" Jesus Christ, that's Henry Fonda!_** "*
"What lies beneath" freaked the shit out of me. Also funny story: a friend of mine went to the movies with her mother, for that movie with Michelle Pfeiffer, you know, the romantic one....they thought they were going to watch "The story of us" , instead it was this 😄

Macaulay Culkin played Henry in The Good Son. He was pure evil in it. The first couple scenes all you see is Kevin McCallister. Then he pushes a little girl out of a tree house while her brother helplessly watches.
I’ve been hoping for this kind of irony to be listed. Good guy actors gone bad guys!
Zac Efron has range 100% and I think he deserved an gg/oscar nom for iron claw. I think his portal as Ted Bundy is amazing
Will Smith wasn't really famous enough in movies at the time for SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION to be much of a departure. Jodie Foster had already been sinister in INSIDE MAN.
I never thought that Robin Williams, Tom Hanks, John Goodman, Harrison Ford and Will Smith could play villains
Devitos Penguin was totaly outstanding. i still have shills even as adult when i see this Char. nothing Heath Ledger could achieve for me. so for me that Penguin is still better villan for me then this new Joker.
Johnny Depp as James Whitey Bulger in Black Mass deserved a spot.
While this is a small role I think Neil Patrick Harris at the celestial toy maker should have made it in here I think he was brilliant he used all his years of working on the smurfs into his performance showing how tortured he was but for real I definitely think it was cool seeing him being evil and bringing an old character back and redefining him
John Goodman in Barton Fink? You should see him in 10 Cloverfield Lane! Howard started off grumpy, but then had an even worse attitude with murderous behavior!
I liked Kevin Costner in Mr. Brooks. Yeah, him as a serial killer was shocking.
Macaulay Culkin in The Good Son.
I can't believe Leslie Nielson's role in Creepshow wasn't mentioned
In the animated movie "Batman vs. Robin" the opening villain is the Dollmaker, a deranged madman who kidnaps, mutilates, and kills children. His voice is haunting and portrayed by a completely unrecognizable Weird Al Yankvich.
