As an animation student, the "Please god bring back 2D animation" line hit me because almost none of my classmates like 3D. We see it as a necessary evil, but very few people are passionate about it.

It's inevitably going to come back. When gaming platforms first gained 3D acceleration, everything moved over to 3D and 2D became almost a dirty word - less than 20 years later both gamers and game developers realized that that is stupid and plenty of games look best in 2D. The movie industry moves slower, but we're already seeing stuff like Spider-verse and Arcane as very high-profile productions that are moving back toward 2D. And of course Hollywood is always obsessed with the latest and greatest trends which is why Hollywood is the worst when it comes to obsessing about 3D animation.

On the topic of old water, water goes stale when it absorbs carbon dioxide from the air around it, which makes it go very slightly acidic, so we pick that up as tasting off or stale. Essentially, it's carbonated but only enough for you to be like "eughhh whats up with this water"

I’m an older sibling and I’ve had this exact experience of “I’m trying to show the YOUNGER something cool and they’re actually better at it than me” and it makes you both frustrated because you’re eight years old, and proud to see that your younger sibling has become talented at something you care about. Very cute. I’m glad I clicked on this video about water.

Life gets hard and just when I feel like nothing can bring me back up to the surface again, you go and post a 20 min video about water and pull me out of the water I’ve been stuck in. I watched Jacob Geller's video about awe-some eldritch things from the depths of the oceans right before this one and they fit together SO WELL. It gave your video a very existential edge with the amount of work and thought associated to such an everyday thing. This only went further with the forbidden hose water bit and the outro

We have a Grander filter in our kitchen tap and it definitely tastes better than water from the bathroom tap. ALSO. I live in Austria and depending on where you live, the water comes from different places, more specifically it's filtered through different ROCKS. So our water at home tastes completely different than the water at my dad's place because it comes from a different mountain.

Okay, but seriously there is a best water. You have to go out to Lake Louise and take one of the big bus things out onto the Athabasca glacier and drink the water flowing in one of the little streams. And it's just... the platonic ideal of water. It tastes like water must have tasted before humanity invented the concept of sin.

Dude, the hardest part of watching Weathering With You (天気の子) was sitting in the movie theater in Shinjuku and knowing that the McDonald's where she gives him a hamburger was the Shinjuku McDonald's down the street and then he bites into the burger and says "this is the best meal I've ever had in my life" and then knowing my irony-poisoned friends were all immediately going to suggest going to that McDonald's as soon as the movie was over.

Important fact: you should not ever eat the snow at the top of a mountain for water (if you’re on the mountain) as it will dehydrate you instead of serving as liquid. You should have pre-melted water with you when mountain climbing. I guess it’d be fine if you brought it down from the mountain in like a cooler or something though, but who knows wtf is in there.
