I still don't understand why they can't have portable AC units, blast freezers, or anti-griddles added into the tent. AC specifically.

GBBO started off as the best of GB’s *home* bakers yet every year the technicals get more and more difficult. It seems that Paul & Prue just want to show off to each other how much they know. Mary Berry is a fabulous home cook and is more interested in sharing knowledge than wielding it as a weapon.

i think another big part is as the series continues they are kind of forced to make the challenges more ‘interesting’. people aren’t going to continue to tune in when they do the same things year after year. its the nature of television nowadays 🤷

GBBO needs to spring for air conditioning in the tent. It's not fair if the bakers are doomed to failure by the weather.

Or maybe do the competition in a proper building with actual AC? Better than trying to find a way to air condition a flimsy tent.

Or bees 🐝. In the junior version, there must be buckets of bees in the food, it’s just unsanitary and dangerous for the participants.

I felt sorry for Rosie when she had to restart her choux and her pastry over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. I can understand how awful she must have been feeling. I love Rosie, I loved her when she was on bake off and whenever something bad happened to her, I felt so bad for her and absolutely gutted. I just felt like I wanted to give her a hug and reassure her that she was wonderful baker and she could do it.

It always seems like an Overflødighedshorn as it's called in Danish can be very hard to do if it's your first time, and even more if you have to make the marcipan for the kransekage from scratch. I think it's more commen in Denmark to assemble the rings with melted dark chocolate.

It's cruel, they needed Bear Grylls skills to fix their fires, so they could do the pitta bread challenge. 🔥😁 As for soufflés that really mean. It's like trying to make a dress when you can barely sew. Soufflés are a chef skill, mean. 😒

I felt sorry for Rosie for having to start her choux and pastry many times over and over and over again. I can understand how awful she must have been feeling in that technical challenge. I felt just as bad as when I found out she missed out on a place in the final. I was gutted. I loved Rosie. She was, still is and always will be my all time favourite bake off contestant. I don't blame all the contestants for struggling. Technical challenges can be painfully difficult and frustrating and I absolutely sympathise.

Unfortunately, I've only seen the seasons that were broadcast on America's Public Broadcasting Station as I don't have Netflix, so I've sadly missed out on the recent seasons, but many of these challenges seem like they're more in the cooking category or confectionery category rather than in the general baking, bread or pastry categories. I can understand incorporating some cooking, like for fillings for vol-au-vents and the like, but it is a BAKING competition, not a cooking competition. The open fire pita bread challenge sounds like it didn't go well at all. Our ancestors would have cooked over hearths or open fires, but that is an entirely different skill set that takes years to perfect, including how to build and manage your fire, not to mention the skill in learning how to gauge the temperature by feeling alone. It sounds like it was done to intentionally make the contestants look foolish or to set one apart who might be skillful at campfire cooking.
