My first thought was definitely Monferno/Infernape, so to see them not top 2 was shocking to me as well. But I also never saw any of these Journeys eps (I'm so far behind), so idk how they really went down. I need to try watching the rest because apparently NOW Ash finally wins Championship and I didn't know about it until videos here popped up with it.

That, or the time when Articuno absolutely destroyed Ash, Gary, Goh and that other trainer in a raid battle. That Articuno really managed to take out Ash’s Pikachu and Lucario, Goh’s Cinderace and Boldore, Gary’s Umbreon and that Trainer’s Bayleef and Gardevoir so effortlessly

Na I would say in this case they used number spot correctly, but Infernape and Ash-Greninja should be in the top 3 somewhere.

Lucario going bloodthirsty makes sense bc of inexperience and if you look at how big that mega stone was compared to everyone else's its no wonder he went crazy that was like a bowling ball while everyone else had a marble.

even after making it small in the next episode it still went crazy like that. Later they learned to control lucario's aura tho i need to say these 3-4 episodes were one of the best in xy series

To be honest, I thought Infernape was gonna try to actually murder Electivire and Paul and probably destroy the entire stadium, that look in his eye just screamed bloodlust and was straight out psychotic.

And you know what makes it funny?? Paul could've actually won if he didn't KEPT HIS MOUTH SHUT. like he just had to say his typical word "pathetic" to infernape. And that right there was his one big mistake. Because of him still showing disrespect to infernape, all it did was making infernape finally getting full power and defeats electrivire. Which is why paul getting defeated by the pokemon he abandoned is super satisfying. Sure paul may have changed a bit, i still don't forgive him for mentally abusing chimchar and abandoning him.

Infernape’s story still hits home everytime. Got betrayed and abandoned, moved up the ranks with another trainer and had his old trainer to take down to win, as they talked smack. Damn right he went beast mode 🔥

What I loved about the XYZ seasons was that they seemed more violent and tense than the rest.

there was a reason for that but I can't remember what it was. I think they basically thought the anime was going to end, so they were trying to make it as epic as possible (Pokemon had hit a downward trend at the time due to a lot of shady marketing tactics they were putting out, such as DLC in their console games)

@@festiveastolfo735 it's actually not a bad move, problem is, pokemon power-scaled to infinity so moves that aren't "over the top" end up pushed to the side. it may only be 40 BP but it's a free boost in the process. Moves like flame charge are staple on many sets for that reason, only for the power scaling reason, speed is more valuable than attack power in a lot of cases due to how easy it is for some to acquire

I wonder why it didn't ended Paul's life tho. Made him beg. Like how Cynthia humiliated him. Or like how Lucario tried to end the whole Pokemon Series at Kalos.

Golisopod vs Primarina. Aside from freezing its legs in place, Primarina couldn’t lay a finger on that goliath. Throughout the fight, Golisopod kept spamming Poison Jab (Fairy types are weak against Poison moves) and Throat Chop to cancel out Sparkling Aria. To cement what a _beast_ Golisopod is, when Lana resorts to use her Z-Move, Guzma orders a Liquidation that *cleaves it in half.*

It wasn't just showing how much of a beast Golisopod was, it also showed how *sadistic* Guzma in the anime was. Guzma in the games was this hammy villain that only seemed to be this big bully to the main character. Guzma in the anime was a no-nonsense person that meant what he said when he wanted to get rid of the Pokemon League for good

I freaking hated guzma in that episode. Like he was no longer battling, he was like trying to let his pokemon murder primarina! Like poor primarina suffered a brutal beatdown that was hard for me to watch. Which is why ash defeating guzma was super satisfying. Seeing Ash avenge lana and primarina was awesome to see 😄

Yo.....i dead ass paused the show for a sec. He was nasty with it. I always wanted more or the Manga towards the anime.....but when its a child vs a grown teen (yea he aint that old) it seems wrong. Especially because Primarina was my favorite at the time. Did make me mad tho. Becuase Golisopod is TRASH in the game

It didn’t scare me as a kid for some reason back then, and recently rewatched the episode it scared me now as an adult

Ash vs Paul final battle was the most chilling badass & motivating thing in my childhood.... The battle between Infernape & Paul's Electivire was the definition of the peak pokemon anime ❤️‍🔥

Are we really not going to talk about Charizard vs Magmar? The buildup was so good. It was the first big time match excluding Pikachu vs Raichu. The way it was executed, the animation, the action, Charizard obeying Ash, even if it was for a brief moment. The best match ever!

That Mega Lucario fighting Pikachu: "Get him up. Let him get up. Let him get up. Let him get up. Fight back, Pikachu! Fight back, Pikachu! Fight back! Fight back!"

@@speedupslowdown358 fight was better (i just today finished xyz, i know what i am saying) but character arc and powering up was better for infernape.. even till froakie he was unmatched and badass.. whereas chimchar went a complete redemption arc..

Ash Infernape was a funking beast is whole pokemon franchise,guy just showed the bloodlust like hell

I remember getting nightmares that the mega Lucario would be waiting behind any door to attack me when I was younger, around when XY/XYZ were still new. thankfully don't get scared anymore, but I was paranoid for a while about it-

Now that I think about it, I guess Ash's victory over Leon might've been predicted since he got both a Dragonite and Lucario (even at one point mega-evolving it) on his team. Congrats again Ash!

A Pokemon going ballistic and losing all sense when mega evolving certainly deserves the top spot.

Infernape's victory against Electivire will likely always be my favourite both because of how satisfying it was and that Fire types are my favourite Pokemon.

I liked the ones about Paul. He was so awful to Chimchar before it evolved and it's great Infernape proved him wrong by defeating him at the league. If Chimchar could talk, it should have left him to go with Ash by saying "I know I could never live up to your expectations and I am done trying" because seeing Paul abandon Chimchar was just awful. I never liked Paul because all he cared about was power and not his Pokemon, I would have loved to give him a big hit on the head with a rock. Also Paul was so foolish to challenge Cynthia when he definitely was no match for her, Garchomp took out all his Pokemon in a single hit without even breaking a sweat, and did he honestly think that strategy with Torterra draining Garchomp's energy and striking would work, well it sure didn't.

I would've died of laughter if Infernape gave Paul a raspberry or something after winning; I know flipping him off wouldn't be doable due to aiming for pretty much all audiences, but even that would've been rather satisfying as a form of "what now, sucker?". I didn't like Paul either, although when he finally started to realize he was a royal jerkwad, I almost began to like him...But not enough to make up for what he did. Tbh, that one episode made me want to see what it was like using Chimchar, so I chose him as a starter in Brilliant Diamond. He's super good! And tbh, Flint's Infernape gave me grief when I mained Torterra, so I had to see for myself, haha.

Queen Cynthia owning Paul was very satisfying for me back when I saw that battle

If I remember correctly, the Tentacruel episode wasn't banned due to the Surf attack; It had occurred around the events of 9/11, and the destruction of buildings in the episode was too much to showcase after that. Edit: Just read that a 2nd ban happened due to Hurricane Katrina, and the Surf attack got it banned then. But yes, the original ban was due to 9/11.

Number 1 should have been Pikachu in the Master’s 8. That’s things only loss in the entire tournament was from a Destiny Bond.

Honorable mention: Ash Lycanroc (Dusk Form) went beast mode because he didn’t like getting dirty.

Don't know if it's happened in the dub yet, but I was surprised you didn't talk about the fight between Ash's Mega Lucario and Cynthia's Garchomp. They were both down to their last pokemon, and after all the strategy in the battle, it boiled down to an all-out slugfest at the end.

Tbf, this is Cynthia we're talking about. Strategy gets thrown out the window at some point and you just gotta throw everything you have into it.

Gotta say I'm actually really happy Krookodile's evolution episode was included on this list. That battle was definitely one of my most favourite of all time, though not saying much considering that arc of the anime unfortunately lol

Leon’s Rillaboom was absolutely BRUTAL to everything it faced. I winced when it took out Sirfetch’d.

How Charizard V Magmar from the indigo league series didnt make the cut surprised me that battle was iconic as heck

That episode where Lucario Mega-Evolved debuted on my birthday. I remember I was so off put by the episode I was like, "nah, is this how my birthday is gonna go?"

That's no ordinary Garchomp. That Garchomp is spawned from the deepest, unknown parts of the Distortion World where even Giratina dares not to explore.

Charizard vs entei in pokemon 2000 was great. Even tho charizard lost he gave it his all and he put up a good fight against a legendary.

Korrinas Lucario Going Berserk While Mega evolved Scared Me When I was Six Well, here I Am, 7 Years Later, and A Big Fan of Lucario and Vaporeon, I just think they are both Cool, in their own way, Vaporeon is a all around Great Special defense and hp tank and a must for your team, Lucarios attack or Special attack may be higher depending on nature's and IVs, Which is A Nice detail, not to mention, Mega Lucario is a all around Badass!...as long as the Trainer has a strong bond with them, Unless Your a mystery dungeon Lucario, If we can ignore Their darker sides on the internet, yeah they are both awesome Pokemon I love ^ ^

in my opinion that kalos league championship battle at the end when ash greninja went against mega Charizard -x was probably one of the greatest battels ever.
