This is one of the best videos I’ve seen on Lima! We lived there for several years and I’ve been to most of the places you mentioned. The rocky beach is one of my favorite places on earth! I love the sound of the waves hitting the rocks. Fun fact - the rocks are not naturally there, they are river rocks imported to prevent erosion.

Thanks for your videos. We just got back from Peru. We used your videos as a guide on what to do and see while in Lima and Cusco. For Lima, the only places we didn't really get to experience was the Plaza de Armas, Moorish Palace and the Bridge of Sighs. The Plaza de Armas was blocked due to Peru's Independence Day. We couldn't get to the Moorish Palace because there was a concert going on, and lastly, they are doing construction around the Bridge of Sighs, and it's blocked off. Awesome video, and it was super helpful for planning. When we got to Barranco, I saw the same bibliotech, and was like, okay, now I have a reference point!!!

Hi! We spent just under 3 days in Lima, which we felt was just enough to see everything. We tend to run around a-lot, so if you're looking for a more relaxing trip, maybe consider adding an extra day or two. Being such a large city, theres tons to do! :)

You're going to LOVE your time there, that sounds AMAZING! We were fine knowing minimal spanish. We had google translate downloaded on our phones if we needed help in a pinch, but honestly felt we were able to get around pretty well!

You're going to LOVE Lima, there is so much to do. And it really depends on what you want to see. You could probably see most the attractions in this video in 2-4 days, though in a city as big as Lima you could easily fill it with many more days as well. Is there anywhere else you're looking to travel to during those 2.5 weeks?

You should buy your train tickets online in advance though before your trip to make sure there are available trains from Cusco to Aguas Calientes. Best of luck, and we hope it's a great trip!

Hi, did it feel safe there? Was it safe to walk around or were there any ropey situations? Am spending a day or 2 there with my girlfriend and have read quite a lot of negative reports into the general safety of Lima. Of course in any city it pays to be sensible and aware of your surroundings but I want to at least know it’s possible to leave the hotel and visit some of these spots without constant fear!

Hi! We loved our time in Lima, and felt safe when we were there. The Miraflores district is well maintained, and we felt safe running out in the early night/evening for groceries, to catch a sunset, and such. In the old-town, we felt the Barrio Chino area was a little hectic, where we felt like we should be more weary of being pickpocketed, but never felt unsafe. The Plazza del Armas has tons of security, so that area felt safe as well. We hope you have a great trip, let us know if there is anything else we can do to help!

BARRANCO DISTRCICT IS A COOL PLACE , CHARMING ,FULL HISTORY, MARIO VARGAS LLOSA RESIDENCE NOBEL PRIZE LUTERATURE, CHABUCA GRANDA BEST PERUVIAN SINGER HOUSE, BEST RESTAURANT ALL OVER THE WORLD CALLED " CENTRAL" ,ETC.

Hola... Lima es muy bonito, pero Cusco es otro planeta , aunque si eliges Cusco primero debes aterrizar en Lima,así que podrías aprovechar 2 o 3 días por acá y luego viajas a Cusco que es realmente hermoso

Hi! We never felt in danger when traveling Lima, with the Miraflores area feeling very safe and lively to stay in. With any city, be sure to keep your wits about you, consider avoiding traveling at night, and such. We traveled with similar smartphones, and had no issues. We used Uber in Lima, where you can share your live location with your family, and felt this was a safe option. We loved our time in Lima and hope you have an amazing trip! Hi! It really depends on what you're looking to do, and how you like to travel. You could probably spend 2-4 days seeing most of what we covered in the video, but if you stay longer, you'll have more time to wander and enjoy the areas without running around so much. Theres tons to see in Lima and you could probably stay much longer too if you're a city person (not to mention the food in Lima and all of Peru is AMAZING). Are you planning a trip to Lima in the near future?

Protest are just in downtown but not too many people, they are just lazy people asking for money to protest and get free bonuses.. majority in Peru do not support them.

As the old saying goes, be careful what you ask for, you just might get it! You asked for someone to explain a nautical mile. I decided to look it up, so I am as new to this as you. One nautical mile equals 1.151 statute miles. There ya' go! Are we anymore enlightened? What makes it interesting is figuring out "Why?" The term mile comes from the Latin "Mille Passus", or, 1,000 paces. It's also 5,280 "feet", like the way police make you walk, one foot in front of the other, to test if you are drunk! You will be in jail, well short of a mile. Navigation required something more rigorous than such a bottom-up approach,, unless you plan to sail into the port of Denver! It starts by measuring the entire world, and sub-dividing it. Any circle comprises 360 degrees. Any great circle, such as the Equator, encompasses the earth at its widest (if the earth is a perfect sphere, which it ain't quite, but that is still to be dealt with!). I don't know exactly why they decided to divide each degree into 60 portions to determine a nautical mile (does it bear a relationship to the division of the hour and the minute?), but it does start from the top down, rather than the bottom up. It brings to mind that man improves his measurement of the world around him (Star date 3716) as his knowledge grows. Question: How many nations use miles today, rather than kilometers?

1 nautical mile = 1.1 standard miles. It's based on the circumference of the earth. One minute of latitude is 60 nautical miles.
