But I am considering looking into living near Dallas, so cost of living isn't too high. I'll likely being looking for an apartment first, then down road I will eventually buy a house once everything falls into place once finances are looking good.

Moving to W Texas in a couple months from California! With the cost of housing here, it doesn't make sense to live in this state unless your income is in the 6 figure range. Even if you live in a decent area, your spending all your money to simply just live. You will have no money left to enjoy yourself in this state.

Don't forget the long periods of drought and water shortages. Some years, there is very little rain and we hover in triple digits for many months. As well cracked exteriors with brick homes are common.

I’m 35, a born & raised Texan, the child of two conservatives & a proud, card carrying liberal. If anything I’d say you’d be surprised who the liberals are. I’ve met so many “good old boys & girls” who love their country music & bbq & vote Democrat. Lol. As much as the rest of the nation may put Texas into this little red box, Texas is a very large, very diverse place full of people from different backgrounds with different ideas. I so hope that those leaving failing liberal states will NOT vote the same policies/liberal politicians in because that’s very likely what they’re actually fleeing (bad politics). Let’s PLEASE keep Red states Red. 🙏🏼🇺🇸

I just hope that all the ones who are fleeing these liberal states that have voted their way into the mess they are in. Do not move to conservative states and areas and bring those same type of voting habits to their new state. If they are the ones voting that got them into this problem. If that is the case they should just stay where they are at and fight to clean up that state. Just saying!

Thanks for the comment. We are receiving many people here fleeing the politics from their own states. Many conservatives are moving here especially from California.

Austin is fun.... But as a whole that city is largely liberal.... Not so much democrat or liberal in a political sense.. Just a do your own thing and don't hassle others.
