    Watch the accounts of the actual survivors, they all say no one was playing any music. One lady thought it absolutely ridiculous that one would suggest that.

  • @santivsj

    @santivsj

    @@DINOLOVER6717 what are you saying? haha Have you really seen any interview at all? Eva Hart said they were absolutely playing. And several others said so. What it's not agreed is the fact that they played Nearer, My God, To Thee. Although there are several reasons to believe they did play it. Another thing that was disputed is the fact that they played until the very end, and THAT is what may be very unlikely to have happened. Several survivors said that the musician left the instruments alone at one point, and another one described that they stopped playing when the ship's list made it impossible for them to stand, so that may be why they left the instruments. However, even though they received orders to play, they wouldn't have attempted to leave the ship as they were male passengers.

    Every time I think of those musicians I start crying my eyes out, they were true heroes and gentlemen to the end. As a musician myself I can’t think of anything more beautiful and sad than using your music to calm those terrified people and staying there until the end. They must have been so scared themselves but they died doing what they loved, almost escorting the souls that would be lost into the abyss with their music. So poetic, sad, courageous and wonderful all at the same time.

    The scariest part to me is the shoes. Hundreds of bodies were never recovered because either they rotten away or where eaten by fish. However, their leather shoes remained, as they were more durable. So, whenever you see pictures of shoes at the bottom of the ocean, thats where the bodies were. It's even more disturbing when most of the shoes found are in pairs and positions as a person laying down would be. Those are the markers for the bodies.

    Right? that's what i was thinking. It really makes me realize that the real person was there and they sufferd with cold waters and stuff, no where to go, no rescue and then all sank into the bottom of the ocean.

    And the reason of this is the things that were used to make shoes in 1912 were not able to dissolve or decompose so that is resting place of the people that died on the titanic because shoes still don't decompose in salt water.

    Btw for those wondering, the Titanic can't and will never be taken up from the bottom of the ocean, it is too fragile and would crumble completely under any change of pressure, plus it is the grave of so many people and moving it would be an extremely act of disrespect to those who passed, rip to all those who passed, they went down as a major part of history

Do you really think there isn’t any evidence of the bodies that laid there for years? Shoes same shoes side by side where someone lost their life after drowning or freezing to death. That’s like saying you can dig up a burial plot because the persons soul is gone. Yeah the soul is gone but it’s still a grave of a human being

    The international law of salvage applies to all wrecks. This one is so historic that it's value to museums is huge. And even though there was massive loss of life with it, it doesn't quite qualify as a gravesite like the USS Arizona does. As for respect to those lost, the museum displays and recovered artifacts actually preserves the history of those lost and never recovered better than just letting their stories and memory die with those who knew them in life. You have people born nearly 100 years later paying reverent respect to the unknown as they view the museum displays.

The legal designation of such has only been, to my knowledge naval vessels at Pearl Harbor in waters still controlled by the U.S. Navy.

    The Wilhelm Gustloff is the deadliest ship sinking in history. It’s never discussed but it was a cruise ship that was taking people running from the approaching Russian army towards the end of WWII. A Russian u-boat saw it and fired three torpedoes which hit. The ship was overcrowded beyond belief and its estimated that 9,000-10,000 people perished in the frigid sea. That’s way more than Titanic but most people have never heard of it sadly

    The “telegraph” was used to relay orders from the bridge to the engine room regarding changes in engine speed ONLY. It was NOT used to direct changes in course. That device, the “wheel”, was right next to the telegraph on the bridge and operated by a helmsman. This helmsman would have steered the Titanic away from the iceberg immediately upon orders from the officer of the watch, the senior officer in command on the bridge at the time, at the time of the berg sighting from the lookouts. At the same time, this officer would have issued orders to be relayed through the telegraph for whatever changes in engine speed and direction he felt would have helped with the turning of the ship away from the berg. Obviously, that combination did not prevent the ship striking the berg.
