Switzerland charms with the amazing Alps but… also with its many wonderful VILLAGES. Switzerland has been attracting so many tourists from all over the world, who seek to go for hiking, climbing mountains, refueling themselves at the many lakes and for many other reasons. A major reason, why many tourists come to Switzerland have always been the many well preserved villages. Despite the small size of Switzerland, this country is full of such villages… but even more fascinating is the diversity among them! In this video, the Top 10 MOST BEAUTIFUL Villages of Switzerland for the Year 2022 will be presented in detail. While you may be familiar with some villages on this list, I am sure, there will be many villages you might never have heard of. This is likely the most detailed travel guide video about Swiss villages here on KZread! Visit Romainmôtier in the Jura Vaudois; a wonderful historic village. Romainmôtier is hosting a beautiful abbey with the oldest romanesque church of Switzerland. Explore the nearby attractions around Romainmôtier: cascade de nozon, caves at Vallorbe or de Tine de Conflens. Very enjoyable is also Diessenhofen. It's the non-touristy alternative to the more known village of Stein am Rhein. Diessenhofen is located at the shore of the river Rhine. A wonderful Swiss village with a beautiful wooden bridge and great vibes. BAUEN is the hidden gem Swiss village on this list! It's located at Lake Lucerne (Vierwaldstättersee) and charms with its warm climate. Bauen is full of palm trees and beautiful houses. Bauen is furthermore the home town of the composer of the Swiss national anthem. Visit La Neuveville in the canton of Berne in the Jura 3 lakes region. It's an old town with many beautiful houses. In La Neuveville, you may experience medieval vibes. SCHWELLBRUNN in Appenzell is a very cultural place. It was awarded the most beautiful village of Switzerland in 2017. Schwellbrunn is great to visit during Winter and Summer. In September, they host a cow show, a typical Swiss tradition. Do not forget to visit Schwellbrunn on 31st of December: During the early morning there will be Silvesterklausen. Foroglio is a small Swiss village in Ticino. Foroglio is very attractive with its large waterfall and the many traditional stone houses. Visit Foroglio when you come to the Val Bavona and also proceed to Sonlerto; the non-touristy alternative. Both traditional villages are stunning to visit! Soglio is another village that is less-visited. It’s located in Eastern Switzerland, in the Italian speaking part of Graubünden. Soglio is a very calm and quiet village at where you may enjoy many great views over the Swiss Alps as well as hiking trails. Grimentz, my favorite Swiss village is what I consider the perfectly stereotypically Swiss village you could visit! Grimentz is full of traditional wooden houses that are all decorated with beautiful flowers. There is a very nice creek passing through the village, a great photo spot. Grimentz is a must visit for anyone who loves to visit villages! MORCOTE has been awarded as the Top most beautiful village of Switzerland in 2016. It’s located in Ticino at Lake Lugano. Morcote is built at a hill; enjoy the promenade along the lake or hiking up to the church or even higher. The view down to the village of Morcote is stunning. A great place to not miss out! ISELTWALD is the most beautiful Swiss Village on this Top 10 list. The village is located in the Berner Oberland at Lake Brienz. Iseltwald is full of beautiful houses concentrating around the bay. Walk along the promenade or pier or enjoy the castle of Iseltwald. Iseltwald is great to reach by boat from Interlaken or Brienz. My second home ,i stayed in Geneva for 32 years and ive visited some village on this list and last is Iseltwald last Aug.of 2020. I love Switzerland !!!

@@DjemoGraphic when I was a child at Villars (if I remember well the name) it was a summer vacations school, we stayed there 2 months with my brother ...and these landscapes are still in my mind today ...I was 6...and mow ..55...then I went in Geneva for a day tour from Annecy ...I was about 22.. Switzerland for me in just paradise...I live in Athens ...completely different country ...

After having lived with my French speaking family in Moudon, I traveled to Baden and then down to Arolla where we spent a week in the mountain climbing school learning technical climbing, repelling, glacier walking and the keys to complete a full day climb commencing at 3:30 a.m. It was wonderful in every way.

My husband and I were lucky enough to live in Switzerland in the mid-80’s. His boss lent us his house in Grimentz for two weeks one winter and it was just amazing place to be especially if you ski!!! But I have one of the funniest memories of Grimentz-the Coop aka the grocery store was open on a Sunday!!! Nowhere else were stores opened on a Sunday!!! Fabulous video!!!

Hi Suzanne. I guess back then Switzerland was a lot more original. Although I think Grimentz did not change too much except for the cabin and the additional houses at the upper part of the slope. Since you were there in Winter, to me it's not a surprise that Coop remained open as during the Season, they make a lot more money on Weekends. Some of the grocery stores later, when the season ends, will close down for some time. I am really happy that you had a great time in Grimentz. Top of the list outside the country is Europe because of its ancient history and culture. And on top of that list is Switzerland! Found this vid of what I want exactly to see in Switzerland-the beautiful, quaint villages with houses full of beautiful flower boxes. Switzerland is so picturesque that it looks like a postcard or during winter looks like one of those Christmas cards. I like these villages and the idea that you could just walk anywhere. My sister has old friends in Munster, Germany. These flower boxes which I so very much like are typical of houses in this area. Nice vid. I like it! Thank you.

Many years ago, I made several ski trips to St. Moritz, Zermatt,. Davos and Gstaad. I love the beautiful country and the people are so friendly, wonderful country! Great place to visit!
Thank you Djemo for this absolutely beautiful scenic video on this lush and plush alpine country. It refreshes my wonderful memories of my trip to Switzerland in the late summer of 1982. Our tour base camp location was in Interlaken from where we (my spouse and I) used our rail passes to Jungfrauhoch, Geneva (to visit a cousin of mine), took the ferry around Thunersee, and stopped at Spiez. We had a refreshing snack, then rented a paddleboat around the picturesque harbor. I also enjoyed practicing my French and German and found that the natives were very friendly and told me that I articulated their languages very clearly so that they could understand me.

@@DjemoGraphic I live in Israel, but lived in the US also. Israelis love to travel because we have a very small country and half of it is desert. It is a special place for a visit though. Hugs brother

Yup that's correct. Most people know at least some basic English these days. Just, the language is not official. You will easily get around.

@@anyakotkova7712 I am glad to see, that you still find many new places on my channel, despite you have seen already a lot in Switzerland. Yes, I plan to do a video about the most beautiful lakes. I am though yet not done with the filming. I think, you can swim in many of the lakes. But certain lakes, I would not recommend you to swim, for example those in Zermatt, because its even cold during Summer. Make sure to not stay for too long: Risk of hypothermia.

Aaah, so difficult to choose! Marcote and Iseltwald are my top choices. We’ve been blessed to have visited Switzerland several times but had not been to both. I am thinking maybe these two will be on our itinerary next visit. We will have to plan to visit for at least a month during the slow season in order to afford staying in Switzerland for a month. Thank you for sharing gorgeous Switzerland with us.

Soglio, has always been my favourite for a long time now. Please make a video on the Sentiero Panoramico Bregaglia hike from Maloja to Soglio. And also the nearby Acquafraggia waterfalls hike. Still dreaming of the time that I can actually visit Switzerland!!
