    It *was* solved. They traced his DNA to living relatives who also found photos of him in old family albums. They didn't remember him, because they themselves had never known him (the ones who had known him were all dead at that point), and the man himself had been a loner and simply left without notifying anyone. It was a case of no one caring enough to find out where the loner went, and the case being distant enough at the time that they never knew about it. Never forget that just because something is well-known on the 'Net, it doesn't mean it's well-known everywhere. It's TVTropes calls "small reference pools".

    Cases that puzzle me is - The case of Mr Cruel, who attacked three girls in the northern and eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He is also the prime suspect in the 1991 abduction and murder of a fourth girl, Karmein Chan. - The Easey Street murders refer to the murders of two women in Collingwood, Victoria, Australia, an inner suburb of Melbourne, in January 1977. It is considered as Victoria’s most brutal crime. One important thing about the case is the number of stab wounds that the victims had (one had 55 wounds and the other had 29 wounds). It was overkill and it can considered to be a strong emotional conflict between the perpetrator and the victims. There was a baby, that belonged to one of the victims, who left unharmed and he was adopted by his aunt. - The Geylang Bahru family murders occurred in Singapore on 6 January 1979. All four children in the Tan family were found dead in their flat. The police interviewed over a hundred people who were possible suspects. However, the case remains unsolved. The police were unable to identify a motive but inferred that the murders were motivated by vengeance.

    How would an avalanche open their tent, cut out one person’s tongue, and cause several to remove their clothes?? And I doubt the movie “helped” anything, it’s just loosely based on the incident

  • @DravenGal

    @DravenGal

    2 ай бұрын

    That's incorrect. It's still unsolved. They weren't buried, nor were their tents. The were found in small groups in different places, and an avalanche doesn't explain most of the weirder details. They didn't even talk about the lights in the sky in this video. It's a much bigger story, they just scratched the surface.

  • @dietotaku

    @dietotaku

    @@DaniXXX18 they ripped their tents open to get out before they were buried alive, leaving them no time to get dressed. then they were swept up in the avalanche, hence the injuries, and scavenging animals picked at the soft tissues. the way the movie helped solve it was pixar's simulations of snow pack movement perfectly explained how the avalanche started and where the tents were found.

  • @A_Nony_Mousse

    @A_Nony_Mousse

    That's not true. It was most likely a Soviet nuclear testing nearby that they didn't know of. They most likely heard an explosion and got so scared that they tore open the tent to get out quickly. While they were running away, they either were caught by Soviet soldiers or succumbed to the radiation or hypothertmia, which would explain their gruesome deformities. The lack of eyes and tongue were probably eaten by the surrounding wildlife.

  • @drifter139
    @drifter1392 ай бұрын

    the last one is actually explainable. when trekking through colder climates, it's common for people to experience paradoxical undressing which is where your brain interprets the extreme cold as feeling hot and you start to remove your clothes to cool off which only causes the hypothermia to set in quicker. chances are this happened and as for the fractured skull, he probably was delirious from the hypothermia and ran out until he fell and hit his head on a rock which caused him to pass out and freeze to death. the last one isn't really a mystery if you know how the human body works. as for the tents, at the point of becoming delirious, someone could easily rip their way out

    The current theory is that it was most likely a slab avalanche. They had dug a hole for their tent in a spot where the angle of the slope was not steep, but there was a thick snow cover, the wind kept piling more snow uphill, and during the night the upper layers of the snow above their tent had become unstable and slid down, hitting the tent. Some of the hikers were already seriously injured by that. The rest had panicked, cut their way out of the tent and ran away from the spot, then, due to the missing clothes and such, had fast succumbed to hypothermia, first becoming confused enough that they could no longer act rationally. And that would be the explanation as to why the bodies were found kind of all over the area. Frankly, it seems pretty plausible, when you read how slab avalanches happen, and where the tent was.

    Thank you for the update, WatchMojo..!! 9:44 I know these facts about that incident. 1. The locals there mentioned a similar group of people have died in similar circumstances in the past. 2. The locals witnessed an orange light floating around the camp site when that incident occurred. 3. The orange light was filmed by one of the victims. 4. The victims with the worst visual wounds were found buried underneath the snow. They were found much later. According to the locals, it seems there's a supernatural entity who has a grudge against a group of people visiting the mountain. There is a similar place up in the Himalayas called Nanda Devi. That's where an avatar of Goddess lives and she doesn't like humans visiting her place. She sends out a massive amount of hailstones above the intruders, and there are hundreds and hundreds of abandoned skeletons with large skull wounds in Nanda Devi. The scientists have conducted an extensive DNA test on some of the skeletons there, and found some skeletons belonged to Greeks who died hundreds of years ago..(?)
