I actually love the bittersweet ending of IT. He doesn't remember his friends, but he'll always remember them in his dreams.

I am only 19 books into my Stephen King journey. I have knocked out many of the most beloved (IT, The Stand, Misery, The Shining). So far, Revival is my favorite. I just love seeing the characters grow through the years and the culmination was just so out there and ridiculous and amazing!

Kyle, your love of the Stand is making it hard for me to continue my enmity towards you. I loved the Stand in high school and then I loved it again when I read the unabridged version. I will defend it against the haters. Jamie Sheridan is a bad Randall Flag. I do not picture the Walkin' Dude with blond curly locks.

Yeah The Stand unabridged is great. Jamie Sheridan was such a weird choice haha. The new Stand was pretty terrible but they did a lot of good casting, like Alexander Skarsgard as Flagg was so much better. If only we could somehow remix the two adaptations to make one great one, haha.

Great video! I like your humor and style 😊 I haven't read any King books yet, but have seen a few of the movie adaptations. What do you think of the Shawshank Redemption? It's one movie I haven't seen yet but really want to.

Thanks! The film Shawshank Redemption is one of my favorite movies, highly HIGHLY recommend it. Funnily enough it's in his only short story collection I haven't read though 😜 same with Stand by Me. I need to get to those!

Omg Shankshaw novella is So GOOD!!! I read that collection last year. Very character driven, lesser plot.

Great list! As much as I have enjoyed what I've read by King, I have only scratched the surface. I read Pet Sematary last year and thought it was fantastic. I've only read that, Misery (years and years ago in high school, overdue for a re-read), The Long Walk, and The Shawshank Redemption portion of Different Seasons. 11/22/63 is the big one for me. Out of all the door stoppers from King, that's the one I'm most intrigued to read, and I hope to give it a shot sometime this year. I don't read King religiously, but sometimes I just get this random itch to read one of his books, and they've so far never disappointed me. 'Salem's Lot is the other must read for me, but you've intrigued me to do the same for The Green Mile. I loved the film, so I have no doubt the book would be great as well.

Great list!!! I love many of those. I haven't read Revival, Duma Key or Under the Dome but I'll definitely get to them. I watched the TV mini series and liked it back in the day. Lol

This is incredibly late hahaha but my two favorites are Storm of Swords and Words of Radiance!

I really enjoyed this Kyle :) Great list! I have yet to read the green mile and you sold me on it hard

A great list! No Pet Sematary though. If you haven't read it yet, you should before you have kids or pet cats.

Great video. I want to read more King. I have read 7 I think, some didn't work and others I really liked. The only one from this list I have read is Misery, which I loved. I own 11/22/63 and am hoping to read it this year. I am a bit of a chicken though, so some of the pure horrors are very intimidating.

Thanks! Yeah, King has so many books and styles and some just don't vibe (don't talk to me about Gerald's Game 🤣) but when he hits, he really hits. 11/22/63 is fantastic, I really hope you enjoy it.

Guess I'll have to give Stephen King another try in the long future.

Top 10 10 - Doctor Sleep 9 - Mr. Mercedes 8 - Misery 7 - Different Seasons 6 - The Shining 5 - Duma Key 4 - Pet Semetary 3 - 11/22/63 2 - Night Shift 1 - Revival I hated the last 10% of IT as well. It spoiled the whole book for me. Not as big a fan of The Stand too.

Great list, muchacho! 👉🏻👉🏻 Of these, I have not read The Stand, Revival, The Long Walk, and Under the Dome. I loved most of the books on this list, though I wasn’t crazy about Duma Key or The Drawing of Three. Duma Key in particular was a bit of a let down for me, though I did enjoy the characters.

Interesting, I wonder if Duma Key doesn't really hold up or if our tastes just differed! You should give The Long Walk a try, you can read it in like a day haha!

@@readbykyle3082 I liked a lot of Duma Key, I just felt like King was kind of trying to tell two different stories in it. Like it feels like one thing at the beginning, but then he throws this big supernatural angle in at the end that I didn’t think was necessary.

Hmm depends what you like. Something short would be The Long Walk, but he wrote that as a teenager, so it's not very polished. The story is great though. For horror, I'd recommend Salem's Lot or The Shining first. For fantasy, Dark Tower or Eyes of the Dragon. For a moving experience, 11/22/63 or The Green Mile. If length isn't intimidating, Under the Dome or The Stand! If you like crime/thrillers, Mr. Mercedes.

I've read way fewer Stephen King books (I think I've only read 4) but I have to admit that my list is reversed. 😂 I adore It (even with that scene and even with the ending, I know) and deeply dislike The Stand. Although my experience might have improved if I hadn't decided to read the uncut edition. The Shining is one of my all-time favorite horror novels, it is so good at the creeping dread.

Oh no not The Stand! I think the uncut edition can definitely make the experience worse (not in small part because then you meet The Kid 🥲) bit I'm sorry you didn't like it. King writes so many different things that everyone has different favorites!
