I was surprised the final fight at the end of Sonic Colors wasn't on here, the music made you feel like you have one lost shot to save the world(or worlds), the fight was intense, yes predictable but made so so satisfied when landing a hit. And the setup was brilliant

Dominic The Wolf Of course it is fine. I like the Werehog levels too. Unleashed is now considered good by many people. It isn't good, but it is GREAT! It is the last Sonic game that had actual effort put into every element of the game. Sonic Colors: Lacks good amount of content and it's short. Sonic Generations: The game is short and it lacks a story. Lost World: Forced and weird paced story, lacks diverse levels and it doesn't leave an impact on the player. Forces: Mediocore and badly paced story, straight forward gameplay, heavy controls (Classic) and more bad things. I'll let Mania go because it's intended to be like the Classics, who all lack a big story and some other things anyway.

@@BurstFlare I wouldn't say Eggman actually needed to be there outside of gameplay mechanics. You forgot that Super Sonic himself made Eggman and his mech into energy and fired him meaning if Super Sonic instead used his own energy attacks he could beat the boss either way.

@@undeadbatman9762 Um... Sonic doesn't turn him into energy, he just launches him forward. Eggman is *physically* hitting him. You're probably getting confused with the charge thing which is there to indicate when the attack is ready. Regardless, my point with the original comment was that Hyper Eggrobo wasn't the final boss of Sonic Advance 3. Ultimate G-merl was.

Dark Gaia is easilly the most unique Battle in the series, and one of the most unique of all time. Is freacking giant, you can control a badass collossus to smash his face (better on the wii), run with a little hedgehog able to smash a god´s eye, and that´s only the beginning. Super Sonic strikes, Chip distract Dark Gaia so Super Sonic can destroy the shield, and than we have to save chip until Dark Gaia annihilates him!!! tell me how is this battle bad??

I can agree that the Death Egg Robot from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is probably one of the hardest (yet most rewarding) boss fights out there.

To be honest, he messed on S&K final bosses such mech egg in Launch base, or egg robo in Sonic advance because both were too easy! Would be good if it was either dark queen. I still agree on 1st choice cuz it's challenging to have zero rings and be precise

Did anyone else enjoy Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood's final boss? Or Boss for each place anyway? I feel like despite being a non-platforming sonic game, but a puzzle RPG, the battles were tough the first time you play the game. It took me a week to beat Lord IX and now I laugh in his face every time I beat the crap out of him before super sonic.

not gonna lie, these were great choices and i agree with all 10 but i'm wondering in your opinion where the sonic colors boss stands (not nega mother wisp but the storyline one) as it's not even an honorable mention yet (imo) features some pretty decent incorporation of the game's mechanics into that boss fight, love to hear your thoughts tho :)

I haven't fought the Nega Wisp but from what I've seen after looking it up after making this video I do regret not including it in the honrorable mentions. It looks like an awesome boss, but I'm not sure whether I would put it in my top ten.

Diamond Bolt A) holy hell that was a fast reply xD and B) good approach i guess considering the amount of games you would have to sort through so makes sense that obviously some one come out on top but the sonic franchise has had some pretty amazing boss battles (except well that last few years after generations at least)

One of the main things I liked about the death egg robot was the music because in my opinion the song is about everything at risk and what would happen if you lost just like some of the later titles especially in the classic day because sonic and tails were the only characters defending the planet from robotnik.

not gonna lie. was kinda anticlimactic. Buuut I respect it though. I personally love Solaris as a number one boss. Sure Sonic 06 was horribly made but GOD HELP ME IF YOU SHIT ON ITS MUSIC! What made the game okay in my book was again the music. And the final boss theme- as always is mind blowingly amazing. Making the looming threat of a time God more ominous and awesome. music orchestrating how three golden figures attacking a monster all in the safety of the past, present, and future. Awesomely representing the hedgehogs in the fight. Shadow whom was from a past that he forgotten, Sonic whos always in the present, and Silver whom is fighting for the future. the music sounds as if everythings on the line. how its so dramatic and emotional -UUuugh its TOO MUCH!!!!

I was kinda hoping the Egg Nega Wisp would be on this list or at least in the honorable mentions. It was a really fun fight, and I think I enjoyed it more than the time eater simply because the controls when playing as super sonic were just really weird

Oh hell yeah I played the two player mode in sonic rush with my older bro all the time when we were younger! Saw him beat the boss too (both Eggman and Nega) and it looked cool 👌.

Disliked because of no Nega Wisp Armor. Jk, jk. The rest of these bosses were pretty legit too. NWA just stands out to me since it's both a good final boss battle with a godly ending with the orchestrated version of Reach For The Stars and Sonic combining all the Wisps together for Final Color Blaster. Time Eater sucked booty though. It was probably the worst Sonic final boss I had to face. It's just annoying and frustrating because the obstacles Time Eater throws at you are difficult to dodge, hearing an annoying beeping sound once you're low on rings, and Sonic's friends *'WON'T FAQUING SHUT-UP!'* Yes, I know that's a homing shot! You're even worse than Omochao! And if you take out all these grievances, then the fight itself is actually pretty easy.

Since Sonic 06 is my favorite game, I like the fact he chose 06 as one of his not-mentioned list

My favourite would honestly have to be colours' nega wisp. Although forcescand lost world have attempted to recreate it, leaving a stigma around the concept, eggman using the wisp powers and later comboing them together made for a really fun and interesting boss fight.

Fun fact: the longer the fight (with the Finalhazard) goes on, the redder the screen gets. I thought it was due to a bug or a glitch, but I found out years later that this occurrence WASN'T an error, but legitimate atmospheric re-entry.

When I heard I am all of me, I had completely forgotten that this was the honorable mentions section of the video and I thought that the final boss of Shadow the Hedgehog was his favorite Sonic final boss. Yes I am dumb.

Eh im not surprised sonics ranking system is broken and the final boss was pretty easy and dissapointing too the music is boring and you just dash forward doing nothing else but avoiding shit

I love the battke between super sonic,super shadow,super silver against solaris

I really wish that Nega Wisp Armour from Sonic Colors Wii would at least be in the honorable mentions :,( Even though the cut scene dialogue was horrendous, you gotta admit, they make up for it near the end. Dr. Robotnik has just failed after something that happened earlier in the game, he makes one final attempt to beat Sonic after his mind-control laser backfired, using the power of the Wisps that he sucks up as they are fleeing. Sonic pushes Tails into the elevator to escape, and fights Robotnik directly across the elevator pole, saving the Wisps from the mech every time he hits the cockpit. Its really amazing as the color power is shouted out when he uses the powers you would normally get. And when the second phase starts, it is a different toned version of the main song. And when the mech is weak, you use the Wisps you saved for the Multi-Colored Special Attack to finish him off.

I find it incredibly difficult to get the chaos emeralds in sonic 2

Another honorable mention is the Egg Dragoon from Unleashed. You thought it was the final boss but it turns out that Dark Gaia is the true final boss Edit: The Egg Dragoon is also where Eggman’s becomes serious and was waiting to kill Sonic on a final battle as the werehog and the intense music it plays. Another final boss is the 2nd encounter of Shadow the Hedgehog from the Hero Story of Sonic Adventure 2.

I'm a little bit sad that the Nega Wisp Mother of Sonic Colors Ds isn't in this list. But it was still a good list👍🏻

I have only one problem with #1, and that's the fact that it tends to pick and choose when you hit the mech and when you hit the spikes on his arms. I have no qualms about a ringless fight, but the fact that it is inconsistent is why i personally don't have fond memories of it. However, the most impressionable fight for me was Sonic 3's Big Arms. After defeating TWO prior eggman mechas piloted by him,the second having to be done minus tails, you think it is over as Eggman flies into the background. However, having played Mortal Kombat, knowing that when "the screen goes dark", that means "someone is going to die". The screen indeed goes dark and then this large red mecha comes flying onto the screen, throwing the normal simple concept of beating the bosses out the window due to the spikes and the big arms. Moreso, you can't even get complacent as Super Sonic as his grapple attack will STILL knock the rings from super sonic, only this time, the sparse rings you recover will quickly burn out, leaving you naked against the boss. Adding to it is excellent usage of music that really lets you know you're in the final battle. I'd rate it on par with S3&K's final fight as Knuckles vs Mecha Sonic (the second metal sonic) where, if you preferred to play as Knuckles as opposed to Sonic, is quite a jarring encounter as the first thing he does is destroy the guy you've been chasing all game. Even if you have the ability to be super/hyper knuckles, you don't have the chance as the area only has 3 rings. You have to follow a pattern to dodge him in an interesting, more complicated pattern akin to Sonic 2's Silver Sonic. Once you lay in with 8 hits, he crumples to the ground and it seems you won... Only for Mecha Sonic to suddenly zip across the stage and charge himself using the Master Emerald before turning into Super Mecha Sonic. Now, he zips around, can divebomb you, and can fire energy bombs that track your movements. You need to wait for the brief moments he loses power and hit him before he recharges. 6 Hits in and he suddenly changes his pattern, now never truly running out of power and using a new attack of an 8 directional ring shot before randomly dropping out of power then quickly powering back up, never touching the ground. But once you land that last hit and you see him hit the ground before exploding into pieces, you know you're finally free of that foe.

OHHH THE OG DEATH EGG ROBOT IS NUMBER 1!!! THE DEATH EGG ROBOT IS SO AWESOME!!! But Devil Doom should not have been an honourable mention it should have been on the list

Time Eater. Looks awesome, and is a great closure to the game, but the fight itself is DAMN NEAR IMPOSSIBLE! Ok that may just be me, but still. Want to know how long it took me to beat that boss. About a week! I'm not joking, the first few days I kept trying and trying and couldn't do it, and then I just gave up for another few days. Then one day, since I was incredibly bored, I picked up the game again, and sure enough, I FINALLY beat that boss. What I learned from it is that the odds are stacked so far up against you that it makes the Empire State Building look like a nail. The controls are so messed up, the rings run out faster than Super Sonic himself, and it's so difficult to get even close to him before he either pulls away or goes into 2d mode, which, btw, does absolutely nothing. Also, about that previous complaint about running out of rings, you could just go and get more. Except because of the wonky controls, you can barely get 5. At least, that was my experience. It also may have been that it was the first Sonic game I've ever played, but still. Whether you've been playing since the OG game, or just got into Sonic like me, that boss is hard. REALLY hard

I’m just gonna say I prefer Egg Salamander over Egg King, but both are cool, and I love Sonic Rush to death. My favorite sonic game to date, and Blaze is definitely one of my favorite sonic characters.

sonic 2 you're meant to hit robotnic above his arms when he bends his legs on impact of landing. Or if you time it right you can get him while he walks towards you.

One note you left off of #9: Big Arm can knock Sonic out of his Super form.

Sonic has truly given us some good final boss fights over the years, great list Bolt

Time Eater has a trick to it that isn't indicated. When you are in "modern" camera, you need to boost while having Sonic obscuring your view of Time Eater's core. In fact, the whole battle is rather easy. It's not needed to switch to "classic" until Time Eater is about to fire the big Laser, and even then, only if you're going for the "no hit" achievement. Still, it is pretty entertaining *if the other characters weren't yelling at you to dodge a homing shot and actually gave you some tips that actually helped*. Still, not the first time a final boss in Sonic involved unlisted controls or methods of gameplay.

I struggled to beat silver,and once I fought the death egg robot,I didn't know how to hurt him except for spanking him.....until the mini bots showed up

sonic adventure is my favorite game of all time but when i first got it years ago i was never able to fight perfect chaos ALL THANKS TO BIG AND HIS STUPID FROG LEVELS THAT I COULD NEVER FIGURE OUT
