​@icomeinpeace1408I'm just now relooking through this examining more closely with chart movements and number ones each year. The Beatles had two number ones of the year. Hey Jude was a defining song of their era. I want to hold your hand and She Loves You(number two that year) were their first two songs when they exploded on the scene and those two songs dominated at the same time. Outside of those three songs, only Help! was a top ten of the year.

It's because he/she only take into account the US reduced graphics. The Beatles by far were the greatest and most successful act.

When I saw Crimson and Clover I said Everyday People had to be in there. Then I saw Build Me Up and Dizzy. Sure enough, there was Everyday People. I did have Sugar, Aquarius, and Honky Tonk as the top three number ones. But the Temptations I thought came too late in the year. I was surprised Spinning Wheel, Boy named Sue, and Bad Moon Rising was not on the list as they were slowly moving up and down in the top ten. But the high points were Archie's/Stones/Temps period and Sly/Dizzy/Crimson period. At least seven songs came from those.

Oh I guess the Beatles were the first Britney. Blow up album sales and suffer in airplay and singles.

Lol no, the Beatles regardless of albums had a lot of hit singles, it's just that there are a lot of one hit wonders here and these types of lists US- conventional oriented tend to narrow things down a lot.
