Thanmathra was really really tragic man, I watched it two years back and I feel I am brave enough to hold my tears in the dark moments, especially the one when Mohanlal bites his finger and bleeds and even in the death scene, he was shown to die in sleep but the BGM was enough to haunt anyone. The even more emotional part was that his son was praising him in the IAS interview unknown to the reality that he lost his father.😭 Mohanlal somehow saved Priyadarshan by noticing symptoms of memory loss in him and Priyadarshan got treated and made a comeback in life, otherwise Lal's darkest film would have been his bestie's dark reality.

Please watch Sadayam starring Mohanlal. Written by the Njanpeeth winner MT Vasudevan Nair and directed by the king of tragedies Sibi Malayil, it is a tale of a man waiting his death sentence in Jail for killing 3 people including 2 kids. In my opinion, it is an awesome script from MT (who has penned many all time great stories in films and his novels) and career best performance of Mohanlal.

Thanmatra is the Mohanlal performance that hit my soul. To me that is the best performance I've ever seen in any language. I saw it just once in theatre in 2004 when I was 13. Wasn't a huge Mohanlal fan till then. That performance just changed everything for me. I can't watch it again but every scene in the movie is still vivid in my memory.

Apt list! For me, Bhramaram is that movie which comes to my mind immediately, that I never want to watch again in my life. I have a bad memory, so I have to watch certain movies a few times to remember their iconic scenes and dialogues properly. But despite having watched it only once and that too when I was in my early teens, I can clearly remember the climax scenes of Bhramaram. Even though the songs of the movie are beautiful, I cannot listen to them without remembering those haunting scenes. You can say that I have this feeling because I was too young to watch it, and now that I have grown up, maybe I can handle the movie better. But I do not want to take that risk, at least in the near future.
