It really is. The first two may be more practical, but I always say, you should pick the ship you think you'll have the most fun in.

Since I got the Verne last year, I'm going for lobi to get the lobi gear I need to fit it out. Otherwise the Excelsior II sounds like a fun pick to pair with my sentry mode.

I managed to pick up an Excelsior II yesterday; that console is so much better than I could have imagined! I _might_ claim another on a different toon so I can get the console for one of my other characters. I'll probably prioritise the DSC D7 though, since the Promo ships are a little harder to get than the Infinity ships since the Promo events aren't on all the time, whereas the Infinity box is always available.

I loved how I got my Sagan… I had credits for a single key, bought it and when I opened the lockbox… TADA…option to buy the Sagan. Talk about jaw drop. It’s how the darn game gets you to spend more on keys. Drop the occasional easy win and you get them hooked in buying more.

Most definitely the Excelsior II. Last year I grabbed the Mirror Warship and it is probably the best decision I ever made in STO since I do the DEW all day.

My campaign box is earmarked for the D7 MW FD Carrier. My next pick would probably be the sh’val because it’s pretty and I like boomsci in my Glenn.

I intend on getting the Excelsior 2, the console, the trait, and the ship are all so definitely lovely Two years ago I picked up the Miracle Worker Flight Deck Donnie cause I loved the MW Connie and the Temp Op Donnie from the 10th Anniversary Bundle, but I wanted to combine them for the best of both worlds.

Been wanting to scratch an itch I have to build a broadside cruiser and the Excelsior II would be my top pick for it so yeah... looking in that direction for me.

Great list, agree with all of the choices. Excelsior II really is a fun ship. I’m leaning towards the D7 MW for the trait 😎

I have the Legendary Constitution flight deck carrier and absolutely love it, so the D7 flight deck carrier is very tempting. Hate that these are character unlocks, though, as I have two Klingon characters (Delta & KDF recruits) who could use it. The Mirror Warship and Excelsior II would be fun, as well, so it's going to be a very tough choice.

I got the Atlas ship, and it's the first cruiser/dreadnought I've come to enjoy. But if I ever get it again (buy from exchange) I'm giving it to my toon with the Molten laser lance, because I feel it would have that Yamato Starblazers touch to the toon. ;)

Something to note with the DSC connie and the TMP connies you mentioned, the legendary versions of those are basically skin swapped. The lenegdary ones, the DSC version is still twin hangars but its now the 5/3 dual cannon wielding temporal one and the TOS/TMP connie is now the no hangar, no dual cannons miracle worker.

First campaign I got the Borg Juggernaut. Have not decided what get with what just completed. Tempted to get the D7 FDC, but I just bought the D7 Intel Battlecruiser. For the one running now, I will probably get Excelsior 2.

Good list. Makes me a tiny bit sad that the best ship of the last year is actually probably the Hydra, but also happy I don't have to pay out the butt for it. Also I couldn't agree more about Lower Decks. Anyone who doesn't at least enjoy LD sometimes is someone I don't want to be alone in a room with. Personally it's my favorite Trek ever, and the S3 finale will probably be my favorite episode of television for the next decade or more. Also, side note: Put the Ba'ul Sentry Mode on an Excelsior II with 8 Ba'ul Beam Arrays. Now enjoy watching the system's star get replaced as the primary light source :)

I agree with everything you said... but I will be grabbing the D7 Temporal Battlecruiser this year. I love my beams.

Temporal D7 is a great ship! Nearly the same as the Constitution Temporal Light Cruiser, but it swaps the Command seat for an Intel seat. Won't be great for a torp build, but will be good for an energy weapon build that'll be swimming in Unconventional Systems triggers.

Just got the Excel II from the infinity lockbox and it’s absolutely fantastic! Such a fun ship!

Okay, since recording this the Torpedo Meta has changed a little thanks to the release of the Maelstrom Quantum torpedo. It's now better to put that in a 5th forward slot, so ships with 5 forward ways are back on top for torpedo builds (just like everything else). So instead of the Sagan class, I'd probably recommend the Section 31 Battlecruiser or the Dhailkhina Strike Wing Warbird, depending on if you want a large bulky battlecruiser, or a smaller more nimble strike wing escort.

@@thesageofgames1871 The Maelstrom Quantum torpedo comes with the Legendary Akira. But Cryptic has said the Maelstrom torpedoes are a new type of weapon and they will very likely release more variants in the future.

I am trying to decide between the Excelsior II or the D7 MW Flight Deck Carrier right now, I got the Mirror Warship as my prize from last year's Event Campaign and I am glad I did, Terran Goodbye is fantastic. I have thought about taking the Lobi and getting some of the great ship equipment with it but for now leaning toward a Lockbox ship

I am with you on this I like the d7 and excel2 because of the traits and that beam console looks cool for my builds but I kinda have wanted the sec31 ships because they just look so cool .

Great Video it is going to make my choice harder :) I had the idea of getting the California Class, but I gifted it and been having a blast with it so I am thinking about 1500 lobi and sinking it into Lower Deck Traits, Uniforms, consoles, etc. Been using your video on the California Class as a guide. BUT now this video drop and its started the new starship itch LoL. LLAP

I'm thinking about either the Inquiry, on my Temporal recuit, or have also been thinking about the Constitution Flight Deck carrier...

I think im gonna have to get the Excelsior i have always had a weak side for that vessel amazing ship for a captain or Admiral to command.

Love the excelsior 2! Used up most of my EC to get her. Only issue is that it isn't account wide. But this year in totally going for the stargazer. The Picard ship designs are total winners

Eh.... memberberry designs... Seeing all this TMP mixed in is just jarring. They are kitbashing. Instead of a design progression they resorted to "hey remember these nacelles!? You like those, right? You like that tmp conny sauvücer, right?"" fan baiting.

If I decide to break down and go for a single character unlock, it will be the Sagan. I want to combine its trait with Improved Feedback Pulse on my tank. Plus, I like its looks.

Atm I could really use a Mudd's bundle with the Atlas, Ateleth and Gorn Raider. Leaning towards the Deimos with this year's campaign unless I suddenly decide to do a drain build.

This will be my third event campaign. For the first 2 I picked the Inquiry and the Courage. I'm going with the lobbi this year as I don't open many lockboxes so I haven't been able to get much of the meta lobbi store gear. Looking at the altamid plasma, enterprising ingenuity, and silent enemy sets among others.

@daniel hendrickson I like it just fine, run a dew/sci build and a torp/mine/sci build on her using sci mode only. I probably would pick the kirk if I had a do over though or the lobbi. I've got lots of ships across my 7 characters and have come to prefer ship that unlock account wide. If I do want a lockbox/promo/lobbi ship I just get it off the exchange.

I've been thinking about choosing the Sagan Class. I just love everything about it. Or maybe the Excelsior II class, I love both equally.

The Excelsior II sounds interesting 🤔, like the ship itself and the console seems usefull for all my beam builds. Or I might pick the Mirror Engle for SAD (since I don't do €100+ bundles this seems the way to go for me.)

Honestly since this is my first event campaign, im going for the lobi crystals to get my dream ship the Kelvin IDC (Vengeance)

Vengeance is a really good ship

I picked up the Engle last year just because I only really play one character and I don't really feel like switching ships away from the Verity. Can confirm, Superior Area Denial is a very fun trait when paired with Elite Valkyries. They already dump photon torpedoes all over everything in range, so adding CSV to that barrage of overwhelming firepower while my ship unloads on everything else in a firestorm of BFaW/Torp Spread (endlessly cycling with Entwined Tactical Matrices) is quite a sight to behold. Now if only Cryptic would give us another Oddy variant that's a 5/3 FDC.

Probably get the Excelsior 2 cause I still love energy builds and I really wanna try that console. I got thr Mirror Warship last year for my first ever event reward and really first lockbox or promo ship of any kind and it was a choice I've never regretted in the slightest. Want something new to fly though that'll fit with my TOS main. I'd love to get the Sagan but I've never done a torp build so I'm a little intimidated by what I've heard about them needing alotta cash to make em work well. Also still need the Atlas console and the D7 trait, plus wouldn't mind a better ship for my Klingon... Damn IDK, it's hard to chose. I do want a newer ship to use though so ID prefer it not be something just for a console or trait, want something I'd wanna fly a lot.

I've been wanting the Sh'Vahl since I found out it was added to the game, but my infinity lockbox luck sucks, so this is probably the only way I'll ever get one (there aren't any for sale on the exchange on my server for any amount of EC, because I checked, even so, I probably could never afford it, because I'm nowhere near having the max EC amount you can have on a single character yet, lol). The Sh'Vahl will complete what I am calling my "Founder's Fleet", which consists of my Andorian Thozyn Pilot Escort, NX Escort Refit and Tellarite Pralim Flight Deck Carrier.

I'm leaning towards the Sagan myself largely because I already have the Sh'vhal and the Excelsior II which would have been my choices otherwise. Worldrazer and Texas are leaders for NEXT YEAR, though if Titan/Connie III is 100% that if I don't get my hands on one. I'm already saving my EC for an Obena or else I'd just buy the Texas right now. Question, what do you think of the Legendary D7 compared to the Miracle Worker D7 Carrier? Because I see the Legendary doesn't include the Carrier stuff, so that might be one to consider for me as well

The Demon Pilot Destroyer is in Mudd‘s now, by the way. :) I hope the D7 MW and the Mirror Connie Worship will be in a Mudd pack soon, as well as the DPRM ship.

I think I'm going with the Hur'q ravager as I have the other 2 ships in the set on one toon.

I’m getting the Vulcan ship for my temporal Vulcan character. It’s fitting.

I'm probably going to get the secret hideout Excelsior for the Console.. though I didn't want to use the reward for a ship I wasn't going to actually fly again.

I think Sagan cause it would be great for my new Sci kdf recruit.

I have the crossfield sci refit because i liked it from disco. It has been a really fun ship ,I may run a weird dewsci setup with ap weps, verycoldIS3 and GW3 with spores and FAW and ba'ul 2 pc , and tear open the gates I have lost souls popping out of everything lol. doing the T6x-2 upgrade was nice. MY second fav is the kelvin intel dread that thing slaps although def not as nimble as the disco. But I am at a bit stumped on which to get this year , do i go d7 and get the great trait or go excelsior 2 because more beams lol , or one of the sec 31 ships because i want the look over actual specs I mean commeon friggin drones peeling off your ship .

I have a f2p account and a fts account. On the f2p account I plan on getting the cstore coupons, on the lifer account I plan on grabbing that tos warship for my tos mirror encounters toon

Because I expect that some of these ships will be in some Mudd's bundles this year which I don't have problem to buy I will pick 1500 lobi. Same as last two years because they have more value for my account.

I feel like I need to get a consultant for what ship/ships I'm getting. I REALLY don't like the character only unlock thing... But I doubt I need anything else out of the C Store. Maybe... Oh woe is me.

Should I go for the DPRM for main or get the 32nd century crossfire Spearhead Refit. I have every ship and trait around 80% of LBs and regular. So Unconventional Sys or DPRM?

If they ever offered the Mirror Warship in a Mudd Bundle or Anniversary pack I would be like "take my money!". Not sure what I'd get this year, I really like my Lexington since MW pairs so well with Intel and you get to use the Flagship Consoles... so good. Since I don't have the DPRM the Tactical Computer makes up for it a bit. I really don't know what to get, D7 for my KDF Recruit, Mirror Warship for one of my TOS chars, Excelsior II because more beams the merrier, or Lobi since it's incredibly useful.

Ok, I know someone may have asked this before and I probably should have asked during the first event campaign, but if I choose a lockbox or lobi ship does it unlock on my entire account or just the toon I do the original unlock on?

Reminding PC players about try-before-you-choose on Tribble can save them some grief - provided the box allows new choices (the T6 box doesn't right now).

Vaadwaur Jugg is a good ship, but I feel like the Deimos is more practical because of its console.

The only one I would be interested in over 2 C-store ships would be the Excelsior 2. But depending on what C-store ships come out this year it might lose.

I'm kinda stuck on a 3 way fence between any of the options on one hand, lobi can get me the lower decks uniform, which i need for recreating the s2 picard uniform, and also boimler and the xindi ateleth on another, c-store ships are account wide and I can get some cool ships like the odyssey line (which i only have the T5 versions of), or even the pathfinder, cygnus, hydra, etc and then the promo box could get me... so many cool ships from the atlas to the undine to krenim to a whole ton of ships throughout trek history just too many good choices

what ship and build is best for Human Fed Ap Beam Array setup?

Probably Sagan, because I got lucky between my anniversary bundle keys and so I already got Excelsior II.

I freely admit I'm going for the Sagan. I don't think any of my builds are dps crushers or Metta. I like using kemocite beam overload with a spread 3 as .y tactical and enjoy using g things like call artillery and overwhelming e.itters on command seating and really want to try out a cmd/ temp build on her

At the moment, my sxhortlist is the Sagan, the Ex2, the mirror warship or mw donnie, the MWD7 and maybe the inquiry. (admittedly between the 10th and the 12th, I haven an embarrasment of Constitutions, and the Lexy gives the inquiry a run for its money. Admitdely, the4 Sagan would be an automatic choice if it wasn't Yet Another Command Tank/Torpboat

You will LOVE the Lance its amazing literally running phasers gives you a free 100k straight AOE shot that just looks dam cool and the deimos is so zippy it's insanely fun with PM.

It’s hard to choose really don’t want any ships, I think I got my flag unless I can use any of the 12th anniversary becuz I do need one more to finish the ones I wanted outta the pack

Sagan is good for a torp build, Excelsior II is good for an energy weapon build, if that helps in your decision making. But yeah, I'm recommend Excelsior II over the Sagan just because I love the console. Decent trait too.

I am torn... On the one hand, the D7 MW FDC has an awesome trait I would love on my space jelly/Ba'ul AP captain, but the newest S31 ship has a trait I so wanna try for my main carrier build with how fast I spit out lost souls...

The D7's trait will have more benefit on any DPS build. The Section 31 Dreadnought's trait is only going to help your pet builds, and even then, they won't be a huge help. But ultimately, it's best to pick what you think you'll have the most fun with.

The D7 Miracle Worker Flight Deck Carrier is one of those ships that's inside a second choice pack. Look for the one called Discovery Miracle Worker Flight Deck Carrier Tier 6, get that, then you'll be able to pick up either the D7 or Constitution version.

yeah, i've had my eye on one for a while too, but when I had the EC to buy a ship the Excelsior II had just came out and couldn't pass on that. Plus the Sagan would've been more expensive because it's a Promo ship, so it seemed like the perfect option for the event campaign.

@Nolgroth Thanks! I was having some trouble figuring out where it comes from. I got the D7 Miracle Worker Flight Deck Carrier from last year's campaign, and it was tricky trying to figure out which T6 box I had to choose.

Quick question: I'm doing my first Event Campaign and I was initially thinking I could get the Lobi so that I could get a few things for my Beam Overload build (Bioneural Infusion Circuits, Tachyokinetic Converter, Boimler Effect, and Superweapon Ingenuity). But I didn't know that you could get the Atlas for the DPRM in the Event Campaign until now. Do you still I would get more bang for my buck by getting all the Lobi stuff all at once, or is the DPRM worth it on its own compared to the consoles and traits? Really appreciate your videos as always Stu! LLAP 🎩🖖

I'd probably go for the Lobi first because that's a lot of stuff and it will serve you well in the long run. DPRM is very good, but it's still just one console. You can get away with the DOMINO and/or the M6 Computer as an alternative.

@@Stu1701 Thank you so much, that's great to know! I actually have enough Dilithium at the moment to get the M6 very soon anyway, so I'll go for the Lobi stuff. On a different note, at some point I want to get the Immolating Phaser Lance not even because of the damage or anything, but because it would work perfectly on my Norway since that ship canonically has a phaser lance :)

honestly not sure what i want im not really a meta player i just play to have fun not really a efficiant ship nuilder either i like to take an idea and toy around and see if i can make it work ...I.E. my newest char with a jem hadar warship cannon rapid fire build homage to the A10 warthog ....she go brrrt

Stu, As a person on the wrong side of 50 years old, I am very confused about which choice to make when selecting my campaign prize. I want the Temporal Light Cruiser but is that in the "premium T6 package" or the second one, "2 coupons for t6 store ships"? I swear they make these things way harder than they have to be or it could just be my old brain that is confused.

The Temporal Light Cruiser is a promo ship, so it'll be in the Premium T6 Package. The Coupons can only be used in the C-store. The TLC is a little weird to select because there's also a KDF and Romulan version, so it's inside another choice pack. When you open the Premium T6 Package you'll want to select the 23rd Century Tier 6 Ship Choice Pack (or something like that), the option to pick he Temporal Light Cruiser will be inside this. You'll also have the option for the TOS D7 and TOS Romulan Bird of Prey, but you can only pick one of the three.

It's definitely up there, yeah. Especially since the Maelstrom Quantum torpedo came out, ships with 5 fore weapons are back on top for torps as well. I should probably revise this list a little bit because this was made before that came out.

@@Stu1701 I got it, enjoying. Nice looking ship to me, which is part of why I chose it. The long cooldown on the Maelstrom does make 5/2/1 work pretty well for torps. I haven't gotten into mines yet but probably will, doing turrets right now and considering your advice of the morphogenic set. I have one T6 cstore token and probably going to pick up ETM with that. Really appreciate all your videos, they have been super helpful.

You are correct: the only people who don't love Lower Decks are humorless weirdos. Also, I'm very tempted by the Excelsior II, but I got the Mirror Warship last year so I'm thinking of getting something for the KDF side this year.
