Most people that have stressed out jobs are not happy, and live most of their lives indoors, watching the tube. It´s the simple things that counts, being free and in nature all the time are priceless.

Carry a tent for a Decoy, when needed ... Main thing for me is ... be mobile, able to drive any Jeep Trail ... Nature for me is Religion... So peaceful... I think you are living a great life ... After I hit my mid 50s it got much harder to tolerate the heat and humidity. I am mostly along the gulf coast. Texas to Florida. Aging makes lots of things hard on your body. In my early 60s tolerating cold weather became hard. So now it’s both- the hot and the cold. It’s normal. It’s life. Chase 70 degrees !

When I was homeless with my children the weather played a big part. It was summer and the heat was unbearable. I used any money I could to get hotel room on the extreme days. My mini van definitely was to small for us so wherever we went we got our tent out and it was great cause it just looks like we were camping.

Spread a microfiber sheet that you can cover ALL of the exposed surfaces h3hind the drivers seat. While you are traversing the dusty backroads. When you get to your destination, eithe gather up drop the sheet in a bucket with some rinse water and hang up or just shake out.. just anchor daily house keeping chore to make life in a small place easier. I’ve tried so hard to keep dust out of the back of my truck, but dust always gets in somehow. As social beings we evolved with chemicals in our brains that give us happiness and joy by being around other people. Those same chemicals like dopamine and serotonin are also released when we experience the beauty of nature. I believe there is a fine balance that can be achieved by experiencing both. Great video, thanks for sharing!😊

Good video I don’t think people realize all the little things that you deal with while living on the road. I’ve been in my class c 4yrs boondocking 90% of the time. But if your determined to live this life you find ways to make it all work out. I had same issue with my pup too. She unfortunately passed at 13 last year. I found my dog kept the isolation from being too much. I have found a few people I camp near every year when I’m in az and it’s been great. I travel back east every summer to visit family and friends and avoid heat in desert. I actually miss my az camp friends we stay in touch all summer till I return in fall

Hello Lovely I really enjoy your videos especially for your honesty and there is something humble and shy about you that I do appreciate so much and can relate to. To answer your question: I do value my shower, my kitchen and my big bed at home every single day. Having been to India, Nepal, Pakistan and Iran I realize that for the majority of people on our planet we are so fortunate and rich . Even if I'm poor in my country I still have a tiny flat and a car. During the summermonths I convert my Peugeot Partner into a Micro Camper. The very first time that I went on a trip I took my pug 'Gucci' (she' now gone) with me. We were all set up to go to sleep. Her little bed was on top of my bed and it was just cozy and all good. Then suddenly she diarrhead all over her bed my bedcover and bedsheet. There was no way to clean the mess without a washing machine. Our trip was over in the middle of the first night 😅Van life seems to give you so much and listening to you I wonder if you are highly sensitive and that's why you need a lot of time on your own, just your dog and nature arround Without all the noise of citylife ... Whishing you allways a save and beautyful journey Maren

Great videos... I cover everything with tapestries, sheets, peices of cloth. I have small washable rugs on the floor. That way the dust falls and I can just shake out the rugs. Lot less dusting and I can wash the covers. Showers I have a diy sprayer shower I spray painted black. Strap it to the roof so a hot or warm shower is ready the hose can go into the shower tent. I put a valve on it by the spray head. Only have to refill like every 3rd time that's with using it for dishes. I travel with my cat. I take her to hot springs in a pet backpack. She has a fold down play pen fits under my mattress it's super thin folded up. She chills out in the shade of her playpen while I soak... Your pup may enjoy that. Hope these suggestions may help you. You have to realize before you vanlife that you'll have to give up certain amenities from living within a home. You have to be physically and mentally prepared to do vanlife. Another thing is vanlife isn't for everyone. I love it! I'm a single solo urban city dweller. I'm the happiest I have been in 40 years. If you plan to do vanlife. Don't overthink it! You don't have to have an expensive van or car. But you do want a reliable one. So if you want to do it prepare yourself mentally first! Knowing you won't be parked on a beach every day or near a waterfall out in nature! Some days will be good and some days not so good. You have to go with the flow of things and be adaptable!

Living in a Jeep can be fun but stay west of the 100th meridian. It gets hot in the summer but if you can head up into the mountains with the amazing views, nice. Maintenance sucks money from your wallet and lets not forget all the dust and dirt. Cleaning things out is a chore, always is. You and Lil One are together 100% of the time which is a lot better than someone in a home, by themselves with just a TV for company. I hope you enjoy your life as you want to live it Sarah and not how others think you should be living it like some of the commenters below, sheesh!

I believe that the hardest trials for me living a Nomad lifestyle, would be having a income to pay for my expenses, such as vehicle servicing, along with repairs etc…… Loneliness is only you being human, with human desires, and emotions. The longer that you are alone traveling, one day when you reach a point, and wish to settle down in a area for good, putting your nomad lifestyle behind you, you‘re definitely are going to have it extemely hard adjusting to people being around you.

I have a home base house, but the cost is hard to work with. I do a lot of 2 and 3 weeks at a time camping in my 1974 bronco using a Kamp-Rite Tent cot, it is an all in one cot with a tent. it works good and puts up quick. I do not stay in one place long most of the time one night as i am filming You Tube videos of places. this is not as nice as your set up but it not full time living. My home Base is in Pahrump NV Im not alone as my Place as my Daughter and her Husband live here and run my old Landscaping business that I turned over to them last year. There is room to park your Jeep here and use the house if you need a rest place for a week or so. in 2015 I taveled by Bicycle to all four corners of the US for one full yead living in my tent so i know what it like.

SARAH - been a fan for YEARS. Your Jeep could easily pull a small cargo trailer, right? Sleep on the floor for now, build it out slowly. It would feel good to stretch out and STAND UP. Right?? Just an idea. THANKS for all your work on here. It's NOT easy but you're doing GREAT. Give Little One a hug. 😊

Hi Little One! As a full-time nomad, I understand and empathize with your challenges. Having said that, I wouldn't change my lifestyle for anything. I met you in Tecopa this year and I hope we cross paths again soon. ❣

I commented before you spoke of loneliness. I was a lone wolf on my Harley when I traveled on it. I thrived on being alone during those trips. But when I did meet someone from time to time it was a real treat to interact. But I was always ready to get back on the road. Just me and the road.

I realize there are a lot of people out there that might disagree with this, but it IS the opinion from someone who has “camped out” (but not by choice) most of my life…. No matter how cool, romantic, or neat you try to make it sound, here are some facts: 1. Eventually, no matter how hard you try and fight it off, you will indeed get tired of doing this (as you may already be). The expression “I’m getting too old for this s**t!” comes to mind. Mark my words, Sarah. 2. Once you decide you want out, you will have to start all over as far as buying a house and getting settled down somewhere goes, because you just spent several of the last years of your life living in a frickin Jeep instead of fixing up your house and settling down! 3. Originally when you started this, it was on the premise that it would help you with your depression. I am seeing just the opposite. 4. Now don’t get me wrong Sarah, I know that you love the Little One with all of your heart (nobody is disputing that), but do you really think that type of environment is good for a dog that age? That dog needs a real home and doesn’t need to be waking up in a strange environment every day. Dogs need to settle down eventually too! 😉 I enjoy watching your channel very much, Sarah. But if it is at YOUR expense, I don’t need to see you living in a Jeep that bad! To be honest, after watching your videos and hearing some of the things that you’ve said lately, I’m really worried for you, Sarah. I really hope a positive change happens in your life very soon. You deserve one!!!
