I was 20 years old when I first travelled to Barbados from Canada's East Coast and I felt I'd entered a dreamland. Every time I visit, I spend half my time figuring how to live at least part of the year there :)

Hi! Thank you for dropping by! Fairmont Pavilion is a great choice. 🤩You will love it. Bring mosquito repellent as there are mosquitos mainly at dusk and early morning. You may not notice in hotels though as they keep them at bay. Cover up more at those times! For me they tend to go for ankles but it just depends on you. Some people are affected others less so, some not at all! But the pharmacies here are great for advising if you reacted. TCP (it’s expensive here so bring with you) or rubbing alcohol (cheaper here) is great if you put on bite as soon as you feel or see it. They seem to stop the bite getting inflamed or infected! Or Piriton or equivalent is helpful if you react badly like I sometimes do! Check with your doctor, etc. 😊

I found that the closer you are to a bushy location, the more opportunity for sand flies and they itch like crazy. The most effective way I dealt with it was by wearing long pants instead of shorts, they seem to like legs- that said, it sure won’t keep me away!

Hi Jae. I just found your interesting video. Isn't it true that a person has to have millions of dollars as a prerequisite even over age 65 to get the temporary or permanent residency (retirement) in Barbados? How did you decide on Barbados instead of other Caribbean islands?

So it does require actual owning property in Barbados, personal financial means is not sufficient, but no specific amount of time living in the country. After 5 years you can switch to permanent residency which also has no specific residence requirement or property or ownership? So you could sell that original property?
