Top 10 Reasons Roborock is better than iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba is the granddaddy of all robot vacuums, but being the first doesn't always mean being the best. We've picked out 10 ways that Roborock's robot vacuums are better than the iRobot Roomba series and why any one of Roborock's excellent robot vacuums are a better buy.

    I have a Roomba 980, a Braava M6 and now a Roborock S6 Pure. Best mop by far, M6...that out of the way, the Roborock is so quiet but not bin full sensor and the battery seems like it lasts less time. However, all of my future vacs will be Roborock. Just pure value for money. I am watching this while the Roborock S6 vacs the room I am in on Max setting. It’s not a problem sound wise. You can never do that with the Roomba it’s so loud even on the quietest setting.

    @@bradenziegler7069 Get the Roborock S4 Maxx! I have the S4 Maxx too, and it's AMAZING. Got it last week. It cleans in half the time as non-LiDAR systems simply because the mapping is so accurate!! I used to have a Eufy G30 Edge, which took about 75 minutes to clean my house. The Roborock S4 Maxx does the same space in only 50 minutes! It's incredible! And it doesn't get stuck!

    Not very unbiased review. There certainly are areas in which Roomba is better than Roborock, one being the rubber brush that needs way less maintainance. I am not suggesting that Roomba is better overal, but perhaps it would be wise to consider some of the drawbacks of Roborock too, if this is a honest review and not a commercial of course.

    I'm curious why you show one Roomba when talking about the side brush durability and then later cut to a different one with an entirely different brush but don't mention that. The first side brush you showed for the Roomba has ZERO problems with longevity. We've had our 980 for four years and changed it once and we really didn't need to but we had an extra one and were changing the rollers so we were like eh... why not? This honestly sounds like a Roborock ad. I'm sticking with iRobot for now because I've been very happy with my 980 and the i7 has a full bin sensor which is really the only thing besides the bin itself the 980 is missing that I care about. They are beats for cat hair which is our number one reason for having a robot vac. Honestly, if I didn't stay with Roomba I think I'd go with the Deebot.

    Mikael Nilsson But RoboRock doesn’t offer a clean base. For that reason, I plan to buy an i7+ on BF. I also plan to buy an S4 too, but really want that clean base to help with pet hair/fur. Hope RoboRock comes out with a clean base type system soon that will be backwards compatible with at least their S systems.

    @@speedlever Shark IQ has a clean base and is half the price of the Roomba (or less than half of the S9). Sure, it takes forever to map the house, but once it's got the map, it does a decent job and yes, the clean base helps with pets and hopefully Roborock comes out with one soon. Because they are indeed the best navigating robot I've experienced. Back to the Shark, I got it for less than $400, and for that price, it's worth it if a clean base is a must have feature.

    speedlever it is not that bad to empty the dustbin every other day. It takes 10 seconds and I think its oddly satisfying to see how much dust my S6 collect in a day. I don’t feel like i want a self empty solution. I’d rather have the best navigation and cleaning before a cleanbase 😃👍

  • @speedlever

    @speedlever

    4 жыл бұрын

    Mikael Nilsson After using a bagless upright vacuum, I will never buy one without a bag. Emptying the dustbin puts so much dust and dirt back into the air that I have to take it outside to empty it. That’s why I prefer the bagged base. I know the robovacs without a base are bagless, but I think I can empty those smaller bins without it being quite the problem the larger dustbins pose. Just my experience so far. And if the i7+ goes on sale for $699 on BF as rumored, I’ll buy it along with an S4 for a different floor. Now my preference, based on watching KZread videos would be an S4 with a self-emptying base. But I haven’t seen that come to market yet.

    So in your summary: LIDAR is better than the Camera. You argue this same reason on multiple occasions! I really wish this review didn't go into understanding the "technology (LIDAR vs cam) and "difference in product lineups" (Braava vs All in one unit). There are much better and factual reviews that highlight ACTUAL PERFORMANCE: metrics such as suction performance based on avg weight (in grams) of sand on deep carpet and dual brush performance. I was disappointed because this review is not really comparing a "real vacuum" (suction, maintenance, battery life, brush size/performance, etc.)
