Florida is ranked number #1 largely because of Retirees, Foreigners who have money, and People chasing the beautiful Weather. Everybody wants to move to Florida after they visit. But when reality kicks in after 2 years, most people move right back out. That’s the part that they don’t tell you in those polls or statistics. If I was wealthy, I’d definitely have a house in Florida. Weather and oceans is the #1 reason.

  • @lastshallbefirst5516

Perfect statement on moving. “You have to decide what you can live with and what you can’t.” Moving to escape problems rarely works for people, because they just follow you. If you move, does the area you’re moving to have something so special to you, that you’re willing to sacrifice the good things about your current location? Very important to ask yourself before moving.

Oliver North, where we get 4 Weathers, winter summer, Spring and autumn as I like it get bitter, everything, not one heat all year round and then they have the rules and laws are ridiculous. If you do Van life only won't touch with me. You can't live a park anyway.

You have to deal with nothing getting done properly because it’s third world here. We are trying to get back home to Abingdon within the next couple months. My husband found a real good job in Florida that’s what has kept us here but we are not buying property here. We are moving in to take over the house in Md and take care of his elderly dad. I can’t wait to leave this hot ass mess. I’m born and raised in Dundalk and thought Tampa would be like home. No way near it. Low pay, high mortgage and rent. I love the beautiful sunng weather, hate the rainstorms but that is not a big issue if you work 100% from home. State gov't jobs pay way too low for what the job entails (Eligibility Specialist/Case Management). The people you help make way more not working/stating that they are looking for work than the actual people employed by the state to assist them. Big problem! I love FL but I do not love the low pay. The state just increased the minimum wage from $7.25/8 something an hour to $11/12 an hour. Crazy, especially with the high price of rent and mortgage. I had good medical care in FL but I do agree about the cost of care because some of these companies do not give employees options for low cost/adequate-good care coverage. Another issue that I came across is that only certain cities have a decent to good options for jobs, Tallahassee, St. Petersburg, Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa.....most of the jobs I see are in these cities. What happened to the rest of FL? Do people not need jobs in those parts as well? Do people not need to feed there families and support themselves? Do people not want to make money out I these parts of FL? It's crazy.......I didn't come across any racist situations outside of broad (because she is is not a lady) screaming the N word out her window as she drove by. It took a while before I realized she was talking to me being that she was yelling at the top of her lungs out her car from the other side of the street.

Great Vliog . Very Informative On All Sidees Only Thing I Would Include Florida Being a Peninsula Your Surrounded By Water On All Sides It Can Be Almost Worst as New Orleans Being Below Sea Level. Because In Florida Your Water Locked Or Trapped Especially in South Florida Only One Way Out By Car If There is a State-wide Evacuation For a Hurricane Or Tsunami It Takes about 6hrs Tlo Reach Tallahassee by Car And That's With Great Traffic So Imagine an Emergency Evacuation with Millions of People. I'm Not Trying To Scare Anyone Something To Think About Living In Florida.

Yea about that. You do know in order to practice medicine you have to be licensed in that state. As an example I had to pass the fsbpt exam to practice physical therapy. So the whole the md holds the license but the other people don’t is well probably the dumbest things I have ever heard. I really feel like bagger Vance right now I mean that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

As you so eloquently put it the crap I’m talking about, is you have to be licensed to practice medicine in said state. Now if you want to get some illegal cosmetic surgery and hang out in a garage that’s up to you. To legally practice medicine you have to be licensed, so your whole story about md at hospitals not being licensed is completely false. That is how did you put it again the crap I am talking about.

Sorry to hurt your feelings, but Florida is the Scam Capital of America. It’s the ‘Non Regulation’ capital of America. It’s the #1 place in America where you can get away impersonating a professional, because it is a wild and reckless state when it comes to abiding laws. You using your own personal experience means absolutely nothing compared to the truth. Let’s copy you, “For Example, Florida allowed Pill 💊 Mills, by the hundreds, to illegally operate in their state causing an epidemic of drug addiction AROUND THE COUNTRY. You know why that happened? Because people had money 💵 to bribe “licensed” doctors to sign off on their operations to the state. And Florida didn’t care about investigating.” If I were you, I’d do more research on Florida.

We moved to Sarasota (Lakewood Ranch) last year and we love it here. Our son and his wife just bought their first home in Cape Coral. Cost of living is a little higher here than it was in Atlanta Ga, but the no state income tax more than makes up for it. As for traffic, it seems to be much worse than it was last year and Cape Coral / Ft Meyers is terrible for traffic and long wait times for everything. I've got better Drs here than I did back in Atlanta as well. With regard to Gov Desantis, I was not a fan when he was running for president, but he appears to have done a great job for Florida. I applaud his steps to keep marxist ideologies from being pushed onto the kids. In most states, the kids are being indoctrinated with anti-American propaganda. Not a racist thing, it's about proper teachings. We'd be much better off if schools focused on the basics and taught how to think, not what to think. Ok, off my soapbox. I also hate the biting bugs and mosquitoes and it's so hot sometimes that it makes being on a boat unbearable when we have to go through idle/no wake zones (almost had a heat stroke last August). Always enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work!

These issues are not in a vacum. Inflation and Fed policy is a big factor. House value goes from $238k to $450k. Of course your insurance rate is going up to cover over inflated property values and inflated matirial and labor costs. Everyone driving 45k to 100+k suv's, well if you have a 2012 honda civic, YOUR insurance goes up too. Don't even get me started on repair costs on EV's that poor people can't afford but government incentivising companies to produce them, and paying rich people to buy them via tax rebates, fueling higher auto insurance costs. All the influx of people to the state, knocking down homes and replacing them with a McMansion raises the fixed income retieree's property taxes by increasing the value of the lot their 2/2 built in 1978 home sits on. The people that have lived here for decades are being priced out. My home insurance went from $2300 to $5900 in 6 years, no claims. My auto insurance went from $700 to $1150 in 3 years, no claims. Property taxes must have doubled, but don't have the number in front of me. I'm not sure how much longer we can afford to stay here. Gas at $3.70 a gallon and up for 3 years strait. Yes it's a Florida problem but not just becuace of Florida. I was doing the best in my life ever 4 years ago. Now I am barely staying afloat and never leave the house or do anything that cost money. Ask yourself what has changed and look outside of the Florida box. The grass is always greener until you get there, or someonelse is willing to pay twice as much for your slice of green grass. Been watching people sell a tiny 1930's northen house for a million bucks and them move to Florida and buy their house cash, then get a mortgage on several properties and rent them out boxing out locals from affording their starter home. So sick of it.
