Let's not allow DVD's and Blu-rays to go extinct. Streaming services seemed like the perfect solution to everything when they first arrived, but only now that we've used them for years we start to notice all the disadvantages. Physical media should always remain as an option.

I do love my streaming services, but I'll always buy my favorite tv shows and movies on DVD, because 1) I don't have every single streaming service so they may not be on the ones I have and 2) even if they are on there, they may not last....

Sadly, my country in Southeast Asia closed the last DVD/VCD/CD store in 2018. And I still regret not buying the DVD titles I wanted because I was broke. Streaming is good and all but I want to watch my favorite titles over and over without the fear of it's "last day to watch"

Honestly, Blockbuster should come back and make their own retro players (VCRs, LaserDisc players, etc). Take advantage of the nostalgia of older tech and their strong association with the era.
Video game rentals should definitely make a comeback it’s really great for trying games before buying
I miss blockbuster like no other. I was like 13 when they started closing. There is 1 movie/game rental store open where I live. I go once in a while just for the pure nostalgia.
I have a typewriter here at home. But this one is special. It’s a braille typewriter. I had to use it last year because my professor in my voice acting class was expecting me to read the script that I wrote every week in class. So using my laptop was not an option. I had to bust out my old-fashioned, braille typewriter. I’m happy that I still have it. Brings back a lot of memories of when I used to do homework on it when I was a little girl.
As much I love our streaming channels services I do miss the video stores. I mean I missed that excitement of strolling down the aisle looking for that one movie to rent. Also to save money from blowing it out on buying a bad movie, you can rent a movie then decide if it's a movie you want to add to your collection
I miss cd/ record stores…. Every Tuesday going to see which albums were dropping and sampling whatever ones they had playing

lol, I have a clothes line in my backyard. But it's winter and snowing. I don't use it for nearly half the year!! Candy dishes got me. So random. Candy dishes got replaced in businesses with hand sanitizer. I'm ok with that, but old people and candy dishes are often together out of blood-sugar metabolism treatment, not just for the hell of it.
If Blockbuster comes back, I will run right outta my house and buy a membership.

A Nano was my first iPod, and it served me incredibly well. Nearly everyone in the family had a Nano (my mother was the one exception with a Classic). We copied the entire family CD collection into our iTunes library, and it did not take long afterwards before we did the same for the vinyl collection. The library listed the total playtime at nearly 1 month. When the family started getting aftermarket car radios to replace the stock ones, the iPod became our main radio stations, and which "station" was playing depended on whose iPod was linked to the system. Our iPods were our Spotify, and we even used a 6th-gen 160GB Classic as our first portable digital movie library. I do not mind a touchscreen (though none of us ever bothered with the iPod Touch), but there is just something more appealing about that clicker wheel.
I was unaware that candy dishes weren't a thing anymore? I have always had one!
iPod classic!! As someone who likes to rewind my favorite parts of songs over and over, being able to fast forward and remind with tactile buttons instead of having to remove the device from my pocket and look at a touch screen is a god send. Fortunately I have 2 and they are really easy to repair but it would be nice to know that I can always buy a new one should replacement parts ever become difficult to acquire.
Bring back movie rental stores? HELL, YEAH!!!!!

Still have one outside. that gets used. It never went away. Dryers actually wear down your clothes with each use. That lint trap is not just lint is is mostly your clothes.
90s kid here, I remember both blockbuster and Hollywood video in their prime 😭
This video brought me back so many memories, especially the iPod. My very first Apple product was the iPod but with the screen, not the classic. I still have it and the box.
Yes! Candy bowls and/cookie jars need to return for the joy of walking into a kitchen knowing their goodies are waiting for them. And agree with previous comments about renting movies in person
Can I just say how much Blockbuster meant to me when growing up? I have some of the finest memories of that store! Also, I she that clotheslines and typewriters need to return! Clotheslines have no zero energy cost, and that alone should be reason enough to own a clothesline! If you have heavy fabrics(like denim jeans), get sturdier rope!
I will never give up physical media. Streaming services are becoming more and more like cable and I am saving money by just buying the movies that I love.

So dose Fox Kids, and/or the Fox Box.
McDonald’s Pizza is the best product they ever had. It’s still available at one location in Orlando apparently. I can still smell and taste it. It was always worth the 10-15 min wait.
Classic iPod yes! I’ve got 2 of those still on me and using them and adding music when I can, so far over 6,000 songs and counting. Video rental stores yes! I do miss those days of rentals and finding something off the radar or just keeping physical media alive! Definitely want those stores back. There was one here in Texas called Hastings. Loved that store.
Things I really miss: 1. Hills Department Stores 2. 8 track tapes 3. Arcades 4. Woolworth stores 5. Nickelodeon GAS network 6. KayBee Toys stores 7. Record stores, especially at malls 8. Video stores and departments 9. Kmart stores 10. Mixed Fruit jelly 11. VHS tapes and blank VHS tapes 12. Children's Palace stores 13. Handheld TV's 14. Huge music sections in stores like Walmart and Target 15. Complete Season DVD's 16. Nickelodeon Magazines 17. Nickelodeon Super Brawl Universe mobile game
I don't think traditional alarm clocks actually went away. I still have the same one I've been using since '07.
I miss the days of going to the video store and walking around looking at all the movies
Remember the Blockbuster Video Rental machines? They're was one in the early 2010's at the local grocery store where I lived.
A sewing course is still mandatory at all of our middle schools..usually is a 6 week course. Early 00's I made boxers, a pillow case and a blanket.
man I miss video stores. I used to work in one and it was such a fun job. Being able to "rent" movies and games is a lost art
I still use my old iPod. I wish something like spotify would actually bring out a gadget like this. I don't want to download my songs to my phone, yet I do want to listen to my music when I'm on holiday abroad. A similar device for when on holiday or commuiting would be beneficial to me.
Thank you for the update, WatchMojo..!! I remember visiting my town's video rental stores back in the early 90s.. 🤣
I remember watching movie on VHS . You don't have select chapter like DVD menu. You have to fast forward to the part you want. Sometimes, the tape get stuck in the VCR. Then, you can damage it. It kind heavy and it take a lot space. One VHS size equivalent to 3 or 4 dvd.
Blockbuster Video, Hollywood Video, Warner Brothers Store, Disney Store and Warehouse video store.
Things I wish would make a comeback ---- #1 I - Pod Classic. #2 Blockbuster Video Rental stores. #3 Typewriters. #4 Record Stores. #5 TV Guides. #6 The Sears and J.C. Penney catalogs, (especially the Christmas ones). #7 Drive In Movies. #8 Toys R Us Stores. #9 Butterfinger BB's candies. #10 Good Book Stores like Barnes & Noble or Waldenbooks.
I still use #8 as my alarm/radio. Slowing waking up to music is a lot easier than a traditional alarm.
I actually do have an alarm clock. This type: ⏰. The only difference is it is silver. Sometimes it runs out of battery, and it doesn’t ring, but it only happened 1 time.
I'd have to add Record stores. While they are still around they are not as prominent as they once were. I am a large consumer of music (particularly metal genres) and there was something special about going to a place like HMV or CD Plus and finding a CD that I had been looking for for a long-time or simply taking a chance on a CD based on the album cover.
Still own my 6th gen iPod Classic. Also bought a Mini and flash modded them both. Much prefer having my own music without relying on an internet connection or on my phone's battery.
Still have my iPod Classic and I use it all the time. Also miss going to a video rental store and getting a pizza every week.
An honorable mention is landline phones yes the traditional telephone and even phone booth if the iPhone goes dead yet things could come around handy. Yet the MP3 player is a very good idea yet video stores and also the VCR could be a great comeback Plus traditions film cameras, at least one old school item in return is the Polaroid.
I was in Maryland, and there was a video store, and I told the guy working there that I felt like I was going back in time 20 years.
I remember going to Blockbuster. I was real young, I'd go straight past the all the other categories and head right for the animated and/or kid's movies. It wasn't until they were already starting to fade away that I'd started looking through the other aisles and seeing the different categories they had.
i still use my ipod classic every single day in my car…love having my entire library available when i want it, plus i still have hella space to put more on it…doubt i’ll ever stop using it
I heard they are bringing back Blockbuster in a few select locations and even though it might sound like a good idea and people will like it initially they will remember what a pain it is to go out in the cold to make sure you return a movie before midnight.

I still have my ipod classic, but the little one. Although I can feel the little wheel has little problems, but still works
I love the clackety keyboards for typing. It’s more a sensory feedback I prefer when I type. If I hear the “clack”, I know the input was accepted. Because of that, I can type entire paragraphs without the need to open my eyes.
5:40 I live in a big City (>600.000) in a area with Flatbuildings and we have green between the houses with big shared drying racks (pillars in on the green). You just bring your own line, put it on and dry your clothes. It's mostly used for bed sheets etc., because we als have balconies here. And never heard of stolen clothes.
my 1st thought was I am the only one in my circle of friends who has 2 sandisk mp3 players. I use them most days out on my hikes. Love the fact I can make my own play list. they even get used when I am walking to church and home. Mine hold 1000 songs each.
I really miss going to Block Busters, Giant Eagle Iggle video and our neighborhood video store. Especially the latter. He had a huge collection of martial arts movies. It's how I discovered Cynthia Rothrock and and Jackie Chan. It was such a fun family thing to do on the weekends. I also, miss Hills Dept, Kmart, Pharmor, Revco drug stores. I miss so many things.
Why haven't they turned Blockbuster into a streaming service? I'd definitely subscribe for the nostalgia factor alone.
I wholeheartedly agree video stores should make a comeback. I miss going into a video store on a saturday afternoon and pick a movie to rent. Sure There's streaming services and everything but going into a video store and browsing through any movie genre section or video game section (Which is what I did during the SNES era.) it was something. About 2 video stores that I had no idea were still in business ended up being gone I almost was gonna go in. The one I used to go to in the 90s is now a dominos pizza, and the other that I used to go to is now a boost mobile.
I can go into literally dozens of stores and locations and find sewing kits, including travel kits
I AGREE! BRING BACK THE I-POD!! I hate having to pay a monthly fee to listen to music I ALREADY OWN on CD!
a majority of these i don't agree with but when ya'll ended it with video store then i finally was on board. I miss blockbuster not only for renting movies but renting games too. plus the one by my house started me off with this one trading card game that i ended up getting a massive collections of. i miss you blockbuster, return to us.
things I miss 1. Not only video rental but also Video Game rental. Even with streaming, I can't barrow a Nintendo Game play for a few days and send it back. 2, Chawk boards 3. Arcades 4. PC Game stores also Disk drives 5. AIM / YIM and web pages full of gifs, text and midis 6, Most of the shops at the mall 7. Magazines, News Papers and TV guide 8. Pizza Hutt Book it program 9. Reading books to research history 10. Disney Infinity
Yeah, sure miss driving all over creation, one Blockbuster after another, looking for one title that had been rented out. Can't imagine why they went out of business. Rock solid business model, especially when you include the late fees that annoyed the hell out of people.
I...actually have my own makeshift sewing kit, needles, scissors (though, it's a pair of dollar store all purpose scissors, so...I probably can't call it a proper pair of sewing scissors), different coloured threads (not every colour of the rainbow, just the colours that my clothes have). I use it for mending my clothes, hell, the pincushion's made of pieces of old pants. Hell yeah! I've always wanted to get a clothesline, landowners won't let us have on though (we're renters), no room to put an indoor rack either. If I won the lottery and bought my own house, that'd on my list to get. Yeah, McPizza would be nice too, I remember getting that as a kid. Candy bowl would be good too. I've been curious to see how I'd do on a Typewriter, that would be nice. I do have a nostalgic fondness for video stores, so that would be great ♥
My iPod Touch is still going strong, and it’s super clutch for freeing up your phone. Sucks that Apple discontinued them
YES BRING BACK VIDEO STORES AND MOVIE RENTAL STORES!
I used an iPod touch up until 3 years ago or so. Whenever I started using KZread red. It came with a music streaming service so I just started using that. I never used Spotify. Sure KZread red is more exspenive but by 2 or 3 dollars and comes with all the other premium benefits. And most of the music I had on iTunes was mostly up until 2010 or so. Not all but most
A few years ago I moved from the Middle East, where dryers are not a thing, to North America, and while I do have a dryer in my house, I never use it and opt instead to hang dry my clothes.
Would love to see the Mcpizza at McDonald's because I wasn't born yet when it was still on the menu but I would love to try it. And speaking of Tom Hanks, there was a typewriter in one of his movies which was You've Got Mail which his costar Greg Kinnear used for his role as a writer. Meanwhile, here in Canada, we recently welcomed back Zellers which was one of the iconic retailer stores ever back in the 80's, 90's and 2000's but closed in 2013 when Target swallowed up their locations but Target left in 2015. It came back just last month and they also have an online store too.
Candy Bowls, I’m old I Know. Grammy died about 35 years ago, but always a candy bowl
In my house we still use a washing line to hang out clothes, however, because we live in Northern Ireland it’s not very common for us to get dry weather to do it
I love Typewriters! I’m gonna get one soon❤
I wish they’d bring back good Pizza Hut pizza. 80s/90s Pizza Hut was great.
NEVER have I seen a pizza at McDonalds...ever. But...I'll take it!
Who doesn't have a candy bowl these days? Guess where I live it never went out of style. Its odd to go to a home or business without a candy dish.
Bring back the iPod Classic! And video rental stores.
11:17 at what cost? The fact you could be halfway through a tv show and next day it's gone. Also the fact you have to have a stable network
I remember having an MP3 player that held like...15 songs. My sister got one of the very first gens of ipods for her birthday. It was pink and built like a brick. Held like 1000 songs and I was so jealous. We still have it to this day- but the battery in it is long gone.
I miss the VHS and VCR
i miss video stores. yeah strewaming is great.. but im in New Zealand and alot of classics and companies a grew up with dont stream outside usa
I think vinyl is making a comeback and I love it
Not only should Blockbuster make a come back, all video store chains like Hollywood video" should also come back, they should also bring back the drive-in,new a enhanced, hate Netflix cause not everyone has it,it's hard to watch certain movies now, wish streaming would disappear.
In my country we have a building set similar to the Erector called Merkur and still it is in metal to buy.
alarm clocks were good. i now use Google Nest mini. one time set up in google home app and when i say good night itll ask what time to set the alarm for
And with the sewing kits it also can help cosplays with making the clothes for they’re cosplay for conventions.

My dad has alarm clock he use to wake up. When our dryer was being a butt we use to air dry our clothes outside if it was nice
Video stores for me ahhh those were the days always wanting to rent a game to try it out before buying it. If they do come back you should be able to stretch out the rent to 2-3 weeks that way you get the most of your item instead of having to return it the next day. They should also bring back the arcades but with more holograms and VR and yes make more old school games such as fighting and sports and action with flat screens and more simulators like the after burner one with a better storyline this time.
T mobile sidekick belongs here - never had but that phone always looked so cool
I wish they would bring back Vault that was one of my favorite drinks growing up.
video stores do need a come back
I still have and use my iPod Nano! 😆😂🤣
These videos are always so ironic. Back in the days of iPods, cell phones, typewriters and such people were wishing for the good old days of records and old fashioned telephones and paper tickets at concerts and movies. And before that, they wondered why they needed TV when you could go to the movies or listen to The Shadow on the radio. Of course you don’t think they wished for the good old days when movies first came out and Vaudeville died? 20 years from now we’ll pine for the days of our smart phone and gas engine cars we drove ourselves.
blockbuster was great back those days my childhood blockbuster needs to make a comeback and make a come back in my country turkey as well
7:29 YESSSS!
Love the iPad. Still have it to this day.
😆People still do put Candy Bowls on the table!
Video stores, definitively!
The iPod classic would be revived if it’s made by Sony or Panasonic, since Apple has abandoned all non-internet connected devices. Also video stores wouldn’t work if most people don’t have DVD nor Blu Ray players, I don’t see them coming back, even the only Blockbuster Video in Bend, Oregon is mostly a museum. Brick and mortar stores for video rental is just redundant and there’s Redbox kiosks that are located in drugstores! Vinyl and analog film cameras are making a comeback because they have a niche with hipsters and professional artists!
The issue with line drying is if you live in a high populated area… it does NOT smell like fresh air… 😢
My grandmas candy bowl is now holding my keys
3 things I wanna see make a comeback, saturday morning toons, (on the major 3 networks, ABC, NBC and CBS,) daytime game shows, (don’t get me wrong, there are some daytime talkers that can stay, Tamron, Jennifer, and Sherri could stay, that’s a given, oh, and Kelly Clarkson, baby she can stay, but those court and drama shows can hit the road. that could make room for more game shows. I’d rather see people excited and crazy that they won a few prizes or cash than hear fighting all the time,) and 3, a lot more tv stations and radio that’s locally owned and independent. on those stations, you had a huge variety of shows.

wow! first time I got the heart by Mojo themselves! it’s gonna be hard, but I gotta find one of my fav videos where one of my fav mojo voices, Rebeca, or Bex as I like to call her, I think sometimes our personalities are twinning.
I remember in high school, I worked in the school library my senior year instead of taking a study hall, and the librarian casually commented on there being a typewriter in the backroom He had to tell me it needed a lot of repairs to be in anything resembling usable condition for me to stop begging to use it at least once
❤ awesome video 😊
