totally missed *AL BUNDY* the titular downtrodden peon because most of the people who run watch mojo are born in the 90s. the other you missed *Benjamin Franklin Pearce* yes m.a.s.h. and married with childeren. and both of those shows has 10 year runs

@@jankozubek2832 Alan Alda was the only cast member who started and finished the whole entire show. the one who played his first sidekick Trapper (wayne rodgers) he didnt have a perminent contract so they wrote him out (went home)

Bryan Cranston proved he could be funny and act on Malcolm in the Middle, but it was Breaking Bad that really showed off his acting skills, and proved he could do more than just comedy

I can't think of a role where he didn't make himself a real "presence". Even the "small" roles. From "Jake and the Fatman" in 1990 to From the Earth to the Moon to Malcolm in the Middle to "Twas the Night to Fallen TV mini to Red Tails, he stood out.

he even did some amazing voice work in the 1st season of Power Rangers ( he's literally the reason the original Blue Ranger's last name is Cranston )...not to mention playing dentist Tim Watley on Seinfeld. I also found out he was in the 1st episode of V.I.P. and he was hilarious

@@arunjohn7459 so so true and house was my favorite fictional character for a long time till he was dethroned by RDJ’s Tony Stark/IronMan. House is still number 2 and number one of my favorite tv characters but well as a I said was dethroned by IronMan when it comes to fictional characters. RDJ is my favorite movie actor Hugh Laurie is my favorite tv actor. And while I understand totally that both actors have great roles besides IronMan and Dr House respectively, I feel no shame for saying my favorite performance of each is House for Hugh and Tony Stark for RDJ. With MCU I finally understood twihards and huge fans of Jennifer Lawrence fans in the hunger games trilogy. It’s just you spend so much time with those characters that you really end up loving them so much. I was franchise hater till I became a true bond fan and then an MCU fan when I got into the MCU crazy fandom I got what twihards felt with Pattinson. Sorry for going so out of topic

I’d add Tony Shalhoub as Adrian Monk, John Noble as Walter Bishop, and Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes.

@@staceysturgill5316 I was kind of pissed that it was such a short running series, but looking back on it I think that's part of what made it so great, it was nice and tidy and wrapped up in a way that actually told a story. A lot of shows like that end up going way too long and the whole thing becomes a convoluted mess.

Much as I loved Peter Dinklage as Tyrion, I have to also mention Charles Dance as Tywin Lannister. He has that fantastic presence in every scene that he appeared in and yes, I'm including Tywin being shot whilst on the privy.

Tom Welling was the perfect choice for Clark Kent in Smallville.

They should do a perfectly cast female tv character because i need to see a mention for Kim Cattrall as Samantha Jones, Naya Rivera as Santana Lopez, Sarah Michelle Geller as Buffy Summers and the Golden Girls

Frasier's Brother was the perfect casting choice. Niles (David Hyde Pierce) was the perfect counterpart, in all his meticulous erraticness, to such a beloved character.

Over Lucille Ball as Lucy Ricardo? Over Will Smith as the Fresh Prince? Over Elizabeth Montgomery as Samantha or Agnes Moorhead as Endora? Americans really seem to have a very poor memory of cinema and television.

Hard to believe there was a time people thought some of these actors were wrong for these roles

Jim Parsons was the perfect choice for Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory.

Anyone from Criminal Minds, Supernatural, and BBC's Sherlock were perfect with their roles. For those 3 shows, they got the right people to play the parts of the characters well.

Don Knotts as Barney Fife. One of the funniest characters ever, and no one else could've done it.

Somebody give these casting directors huge raises! It's impossible to envision anyone else BUT these actors in their iconic roles!

The casting director for 'Game of Thrones' deserves a special trophy. I am in awe. That perfectly chosen team worked in sync like a well-oiled machine. Fabulous show.

Naya Rivera as Santana Lopez and Leighton Meester as Blair Waldorf. They absolutely killed their roles, I can't imagine anyone else playing these roles and doing as good a job as they did

Charlie Sheen Two and a Half Men and Jim Parson Big Bang Theory.

Andre Braugher is one of the best and classiest actors in Hollywood. You can always be fairly certain he will be "on point" no matter the size of the role. NPH, Jim Parsons, and Hugh Laurie are also really terrific. I will always picture a "serial killer" when I see Michael C. Hall. I never seen Mad Men, not my thing. But I have seen Jon Hamm in other roles and he is pretty good.

Honesty, solid picks. I'd love to see a top 10 like this but for voice actors in animated series.

Suggestion: Top 20 evil children/adolescents in movies and TV shows.

It’s been five years since the disappearance of his sister from his old home in Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, an event he still tries to solve alone. That isn’t easy with a divorced mother and a State Department father. David Carsuo as Horatio Caine in CSI Miami. I always love his catchy one liners in every episode before the opening theme. Calm, level-headed, and ruthless to criminals, and all qualities that make him the best character in the series.

Anthony Anderson aka Andre Johnson from Blackish atleast deserves a honourable mention

Mads Mikkelsen as Hannibal Lecter surely deserved at least an honorable mention.

Not having Hugh Laurie as Dr. House in this list is bold, he perfectly encapsulated one of the most memorable TV characters. Would easily be a in a Top 3 of a list like this

Leonard Nimoy as Spock was the Best

I feel like the reason they didn't add Kristen Bell as Eleanor Shellstrop (The Good Place) was because it was too close between her and Ted Danson. Those two were the perfect team. That said, Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar (Lucifer) also deserves a shoutout.

My favourite perfectly cast TV characters.....Alyson Hannigan as Willow on Buffy, all 4 of the legendary Golden Girls, Vivian Vance as Ethel Mertz on I Love Lucy, Joan Collins as Alexis on Dynasty, to name a few. Dana Scully and Moira Rose definitely in my top 5.

I love Steve Carell. The only actor who could’ve replicated the performance and done it better is Bob Odenkirk.

Kelsey is incredible but David Hyde Pierce nailed Niles so well. He never over sells him but also is so over the top as him it's perfect. Matthew Perry as chandler is genius. Hugh Laurier as house deserves a place too.

I think there may have to be one or 2 more sequels to this. MORE 10 Perfectly Cast TV Characters.

Micheal Scott leaving Dunder Mifflin was the single most heartbreaking moment in TV history IMO.

Michael Richards as Kramer, Ian McShane in Deadwood, Timothy Olyphant in Justified, and Bokeem Woodbine as Mike Milligan in Fargo could not be replaced. I think Richards is Seinfeld’s secret weapon, because when you add his masterful physical comedy to the other ingredients on the show, it helps make it the best series ever.

Katey Sagal in virtually every role she's played. Not to mention she's an excellent Singer.

That episode of The Office where Michael is wearing the purple bandana (the thumbnail) was just on less than 30 minutes ago lol!

I’m not sure I would have put him top 10, but Hugh Laurie as Dr. Gregory House is at least worth a mention. The way he turns a complete a-hole of a character into a fascinating, loveable star of the show is excellent and I don’t know who else could have done it that well.

Oliver Queen/Green Arrow- Arrow- Stephen Amell - Arrow. Barry Allen/The Flash- Grant Gustin. John Constantine - Constantine, Arrow, Legends Of Tomorrow - Matt Ryan. Can probably think of loads more!!.

I love how they acknowledge Peter Dinklage is attractive. He is. And that deep voice, it's like butter. And I think them not showing the full extent of Tyrion's birth defects, and disfiguring injuries Tyrion later gets during Blackwater in the books, shows how petty and judgemental characters like Cersei and the whole of Westeros can be. They'd view a little person as a monster or a lesser person no matter what. As well, Peter is older than the actors playing his older siblings (there is a big age difference between the twins and their little brother) and looks older, so I believe that can be seen as a possible "birth defect." Honestly Tyrion was one of my favorites and someone to look forward to when the show got bad. And he wouldn't be drawing me in unless Peter Dinklage played him.

Lots of great mentions here but one of my favorites seems to be forgotten... Dennis Frantz as Detective Andy Sipowicz (NYPD Blue)
