@lucyinthesky3684

@@hadison6838 Well... of course it does. That's kinda stating the obvious - just like a movie with a rape scene (for instance) will affect a rape victim differently than it might affect a man who's watching the same movie, lol. Trauma bonds you to the event. Those who have _not_ experienced such trauma very rarely, if ever, understand. But if your country was hit by the tsunami, I'm glad you are okay! :) I've been through a few earthquakes and a tornado that flattened the house next door to me when I was a child - but never a tsunami.
The impossible is no. 1 the fact that it happened in real life is just chilling..

If that movie makes you tear up; you should watch “Aftershock”. It’s based on the real life horrific Great Tangshan Earthquake of 1976 (which un-alived almost 300,000 people) The story focuses on one young girl in a small family… & holy shi did the creators really sell the feeling of the people’s total helplessness and blind fear. (people had to make tough decisions…I’ll leave it at that) Man did that movie make me cry. Especially the first half hour/45 mins. - As long as you don’t mind subtitles; I think anyone who likes disaster movies should add “Aftershock” to their lists asap. 👍🏼

Number one is so accurate I’ve never rewatched a movie so many times it had everything you could want in an disaster action drama and it threw us off balance and had us in suspense from beginning to end ! 💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥
There’s a few other really good movies. Loved the volcano as a kid. There’s other more recent movies like Greenland and Geostorm. I’m a sucker for disaster films.

San Andreas was one of my favourite movies and it was the first movie I saw with Alexandria Daddario and I was like wow her eyes lol. I remember watching Pompeii and it was a good disaster movie too - the guy in the movie is so damn good looking! But the ending was sad :(
"Into the storm" is missen here. That 2.6miles diameter tornado was no joke
Remarkable I've seen them all. I love natural disaster movies.

The Wave may be a foreign film but, its also based on actual events and is surprisingly good compared to American disaster films. I watched it once and id give it a 7.5/10 . If you haven't yet seen it you should. You do have the English options or original Norwegian with English subtitles on DVD.

Seen them all except for The Wave and Poseidon but watched the classics, The Poseidon Adventure and Beyond The Poseidon Adventure and also loved The Towering Inferno. Love disaster movies. 🤗🤗🤗🤗
Most movies here are from recent years. Disaster movies had another golden age in the early 70's with movies like "S.O.S. Poseidon", "Earthquake" and "Towering inferno". The effects are of course a bit outdated, but I recommend all those three movies, they have both action and heart.

Twister, Deep water Horizon, Only The Brave, and The Impossible have happened for real. Tornados scare the hell out of me, because I have seen them up close, as for the Deep Water Horizon movie, that disaster really did happen and it caused at lot of environmental disaster, firefighters have my respect because they have a very dangerous job, as for deep sea fishing, that comes with lots of risk, and I remember seeing the news and learning about the tidal wave which cost lots of lives. Some of these movies show that we are causing the problems which Earth is facing.

The volcanic inspiration for “Dante's Peak” was the 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens, which was used as a filming location for some scenes in the movie.
At 3:54pm east coast 4/5/21 I've watched them all as I'm literally watching 2012 right now 🤣
I loved the destruction of the movie 2012. Its my favorite movie but Greenland and the impossible are really emotional good movies.
san andreas and the day after tomorrow is mahh fav❤️❤️❤️❤️
2012 will always be my fav. geostorm is a close second. i prefer disaster movies where it's 95% how it would look in that situation and 5% heart warming story line🤣 i guess i like to be shocked. i am legend is really good too and a few other honorable zombie mentions such as train to busan or world war Z, though it seems we're focusing more on NATURAL disaster apocolypse rather than disease apocolypse so it makes sense they wouldn't be mentioned

A really good list. These movies are missing : The Core 2003, Titanic 1997, Geostorm, Atomic Train, the Perfect Storm, Unstoppable, Greenland ♥
Based solely on the number of times I have researched these, the Twister and Deep Impact should be higher!. Followed closely by Dante's Peak. The late 1990's did fantastic disaster movies, even if the special effects aren't so convincing 25 yrs later!
you should watch Ashfall, its a korean disaster movie about stopping a volcano.
