For me as a Dodger fan, my most unbelievable moment was in game 1 of the 1988 World Series, bottom of the ninth, 2 outs and a runner on base, Lasorda sends up 1988 National League MVP Kirk Gibson to face Oakland closer Dennis Eckersley, Gibson ran the count to 3-2 and I still remember Vin Scully’s call, “HIGH FLY BALL, DEEP RIGHT FIELD, SHE IS GONE!”

I'm not a huge sports fan, but that home run has really stuck with me. I consider it one of the greatest feats of individual athleticism I've ever seen. To push through the pain and injury like that was phenomenal. The only other instance I know of that compares is Kerri Strug's vault in the 1996 Summer Olympics.

Prior to the home run, Gibson hit a grounder up the first base line and it went foul, he didn’t get out of the batter’s box as he was in a lot of pain and when he hit the home run, he hobbled around the bases and when he got home, Steve Sax cleared the way for him

Seriously, the only thing that could have possibly made it bigger is that it was game 6, not game 7. So they would have had another chance if they lost. But it's not an exaggeration to call it the biggest homer of all time. That or Mazeroski in 1960.

Because it was a later game my dad and I gave up on it and went to sleep but my mom is a diehard baseball fan and stayed up. We got woke up by her screaming in the 9th inning when the rally got going. And #1 Ken Griffey Sr (Father) and Ken Griffey Jr (Son), go back to back to hit Homeruns in same inning in 1990 against the California Angels pitcher Kirk McCaskill.

To add even more amazement to Willie Mays' catch (which is hard to note because this video freezes at the moment I am about to mention). Mays pounds his glove as he is racing down the ball. Everyone knows from playing baseball or softball when a player pounds his glove he knows he is in a position to catch it. In short, Mays knew he was going to make that catch. It was just another fly ball for the great Willie Mays.

I know every great moment can’t be mentioned, however, the 1969 Mets victory over the Orioles always gets overlooked. Also, equally forgotten is two of the best catches made ever. How about the 1986 Mets comeback in game 6 of the World Series. Down four runs and one out away from losing the World Series, they strung a series of walks, base hits and wild pitches together to win the game. That was the most exciting game I ever watched.

Decent list but the greatest baseball moment I've ever seen was Randy Johnson winning his 300th game. If Justin Verlander can't get the final 43 wins to get to 300 then that might stand as the last of its kind.

No idea why Carter always get shafted in these lists. Mazerowski is there and what makes carter's more important to history is it was the 1st time the world series was won outside USA. It's the WORLD series 1st time ever on top of a Homer to win it. Not even honorable mention, unsubscribed after many years.
