You should have mentioned 'Gremio x Nautico' by the second league of Brazilian Championship of Soccer. The person who made this video can search for this match on the internet by typing 'Batalha dos Aflitos'. Gremio's Goalkeaper has defended one penalty and Gremio's striker scored a goal right after that. Remembering that Gremio had only 7 players left, for the others 4 players had got red cards.

When I saw that Leicester was in 2nd on this list, I was surprised. I couldn't think of any bigger championship upset. Then WatchMojo made me realize I forgot about Greece in 2004.

Also Greece, i emphasize that, greece, didnt beat average teams like Portugal 2016 (poland, wales, hungary) but the best teams of the tournament( portugal of cr7 figo rui costa twice, france of henry makelele, vieira, pires trezeguet and so many and czech of nedved, baros, smicer and hankulovski). Anyway its objective, both triumphs were really impressive

@@theoarm5015 in that case you could also argue that all these great national teams, you mentioned, had an exceptionally bad tournament. City, Chelsea, etc still had great players in their squads even tho they under performed that specific season. Well I don't know. But there is always an element of luck and a possibility of an upset in tournaments but in a 38 match league season you expect the best team to win.

I was in the island of Crete, Greece during the 2012 Euro Cup and trust me, the Greeks are incredibly passionate about football/soccer and I learned that first hand when everyone at my hotel lost their shit when Greece scored the lone goal against Russia. The best/worst part about that game was that was only a match in the group stage, even the staff decided to take a lengthy break to watch those games.

Ka Kan Leicester won the league while United, Liverpool and Chelsea had their worst season since a long time ago!!!City was consetranting in Europe. Tottenham and Arsenal cant win it...Greece was against France of Zidane, the best Cech team ever and the best Portugal ever and Spain that would win the next Euro!!! Leicester is a great underdog story but in Premier League there are so many competitors for the title that it is easier for an underdog to win it rather than any other league. It is propably number two or three of the best Underdog stories.

What happened in 2004 when Greece won the european title was something unique ! Just take a look at the opponents that they have defeated: Portugal 1-2 Greece France 0-1 Greece Czech Republic 0-1 Greece Portugal 0-1 Greece. I am from the Balkans and I am proud about that performance that Greece accomplished in 2004.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Leicester City was almost relegated the season prior and JUST GOT PROMOTED from Championship, they were defeated only 3 times out of 38 games in their Premier League winning season. In order for romanians not to outtake the government,the government believed that if they managed to keep their citizens distracted, they could outstand the problem. The answer was football. The government gave huge amounts of money to romanian teams(not only steua) for them to perform well in the european cups. I am a 62 year old Greek/Australian at the 2004 euro I had 3 young children and was running a business. During that tournament, The whole family would be in the city of Melbourne at midnight to watch the matches on huge screens that were provided by the local government, We all had our faces painted with the Greek national colors and were carrying Greek flags wearing blue and white. the days following the matches my shop was always late to open and it was overflowing with Greek flags. On the day of the final, when the whistle marked the end of the game with Greece being the European champions I broke down and cried as I had never cried before, it is a feeling that is impossible to describe, pure overwhelming elation, I hope everyone experiences that feeling at least once in their lifetime. Even these days as I get a glimpse of those games I become a teary teenager unable to be objective. "Ελλάδα μου σαγαπώ"

Leicester's achievement of winning the Premier League was the biggest upset/surprise of them all. The team had just escaped relegation the previous year (following an impressive winning run at the end of that season) and just kept winning in their championship season (in which they eventually lost only 3 games of 38) with an average squad (with players that just excelled like never before especially the likes of Vardy, Mahrez, Kanté, Drinkwater, Morgan, Schmeichel) and a manager that was often seen as a joke (surprisingly he was fired the following season after some poor results). Facing the toughest opposition in football, Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool... teams that had up to 10 times the budget but couldn't perform the way Leicester did... simply incredible.

The crazy thing about Denmark winning the Euroes in 1992 was that of course they didn't qualify but at the time they were messaged to play in the Euroes instead of Yugoslavia some of the players didn't have the motivation to play because they were sunbathing and enjoying their holiday. Most of the players just wanted to play three games (they of course expected to lose them all) and go home again to continue their holidays. Denmark's coach was also extremely chill about it and let the players make decisions on their own and so they ate McDonald's at times and relaxed a lot. I've spent my whole life living in Leicestershire, and trust me, the day Leicester won the title my town basically shook with excitement and joy. Never seen so many drunk football supporters in my life 😂 But that, my dad crying and the commentators nearly having a fit are three things that'll stay with me forever. Sure a shit load of people jumped on the bandwagon, but nothing compared to watching it in Leicester OR Leicestershire when it happened

It's mindboggeling that you didn't mention Nottingham Forest. They were promoted to the English Football League in the 1976-77 season and became champions of England the very next season (1977-78). And to top all of that, they won the European Cup back to back after that (1978-79 and 1979-80). Essentially, they went from being a 2nd tier English club to become one of Europe's best club in three years...

In ours. For real though, Leicester city had some great players who all happened to have their breakthrough seasons with them. Mahrez is at City, is winning African cup of Nations for his country. Kante is easily among the top 5 box to box midfielders in the game. Vardy's decline is somewhat unfortunate but he was still great nonetheless. Greece on the other hand had no great players before the tournament neither did any of them went on to have great careers.

@@thetabbyguy921 Where did I say that ? I said Leicester City had a some of the best players in the premier league at the time of their premier league victory. I was wrong about Vardy's decline but it just strengthens my original point further. That team had great players scattered around the pitch that have since done great things individually in Leicester or other teams as well and proven that at least their part in that Victory was no fluke. Greece on the other hand had no one that stood out in that team that had a good career before or after the tournament. A complete fluke.

Uh NC State over Houston in the 1983 NCAA basketball tournament NC State barely got in and had had to fight good teams the whole way only to face Clyde Drexler and Hakeem Olahajawan and team full of first round picks Phi Slamma Jamma no one thought they had a chance but they won that is a greater upset that Villanova over Georgetown

The fact that they put in Villanova over Georgetown is disgusting and shows how little they actually know. In 1983, NC State had to beat Ralph Sampson TWICE. Once in the ACC tournament, and then again in the (correct me if I am wrong) Final Four. They beat Jordan's UNC just to play Sampson in the ACC Championship that year. It's a disgrace.

True but the Lakers had bad chemistry like really bad chemistry so even if it was on the list it was a all-star team they where trading and stuff so there not really underdogs

You missed a big one. 2008 Fresno State College World Series Baseball Team. Had to win the WAC tournament just to get into the regionals. Lowest seed to win the title, and they had to survive 6 elimination games to win it.
