@@cursedsailor7473 Kayo is a young girl who was severely abused by her mother and learned to put on a tough front to everyone she knew, and having breakfast at a friend's house with people who cared for her and fed her just broke down those walls. It's obviously not as impactful to read the spark notes version, but damn was it impactful to watch.

Rengoku's death in Demon Slayer was hard cause it showed the many different reactions from his family & allies... They all felt sadness, anger, shock & disbelief especially after we saw his raw will power & determination to save everyone on that train.

That was Sad but for me , Daki& Gyutaro's final words before going to hell were more saddening in Season 2 , Daki's VA nailed it to utter perfection !! Edit:- what's more saddening is surprisingly of the killer of the most beloved guy Kyojuro Rengoku i.e. Upper Moon 3's backstory and the most hated Hashira also has the Saddest backstory in Hashira i.e. Wind Pillar's backstory !!

Also the ending of Stone Ocean is probably one of the most heartbreaking moments of the Anime/Manga

I’m surprised Gon finding out about Kite’s death didn’t make it. My man had been holding on hope that Kite was alive for like 50 episodes only to find out that he had been devoured. Watching Gon’s soul get crushed like that is tragic considering how much of a happy bubbly character he is known to be

Kyojuro death really hit me in the guts; being watching Demon Slayer episodes during a night of insomnia...one episode after another episode, being excited just like watching AoT and then that epic fight started. So hyped for that, like when i was a child watching Dragon Ball during Majin Bu arc and...even now, i have tears in my eyes saying this. But there is a positive side on this, i started Demon Slayer not so hopefull and interested in it, then i really liked it and waiting for the new arc!

Koro Sensei death on Assassination Classroom was one of the most hearthbreaking scenes I watched in Anime...

I cry every single time I watch that

Robin screaming “i want to live” especially during the montage leading up to the Jet Gatling. Take or leave the dub but Stephanie Young killed it as robin putting so much raw emotion into Robins declaration.

Jiraiya dying has to be the saddest death Naruto. Had me balling for days. I miss that dude so much.

Should've added Clannad to this list.

I'm surprised no Hunter x Hunter moment made this list. That anime had me bawling like a baby multiple times unlike Pokemon or Demon Slayer ever. Meruem and Komugi's last moments, Kite's death, Gon's sacrifice, Killua's desperation when he couldn't help his friend...

When I was a kid, Ash's Butterfree Graceful Send-off to Ash is just so Heartbreaking. I can never get that out of my mind. It's just so Tearjerker. 😭😭😭😭

I honestly refuse to this day to watch Bye Bye Butterfree a second time. Whenever I watch through Pokemon I always skip it. That episode is too big an emotional gut punch.

Glad to see Chrono Crusade finally get some love but the fact that not a single moment from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood made it feels criminal. There's the aftermath of Nina, Maes Hughes' funeral, the revelation about Scar and the Rockbell's, Greed's sacrifice, Al's sacrifice, the list goes on.

@@Saddonghussein I'll agree the original is underrated, it did a MUCH better job with Nina and Shou Tucker for example, but I wouldn't put it above Brotherhood. OG FMA told a better more personal philosophical story while Brotherhood told a better broad, overarching Shonen plot. Just my take.

I loved the first and fourth Valkyria Chronicles games, so yeah, it sucks that the anime adaptation of the first game was never dubbed.

In Road to Ninja: A Naruto Movie, Minato and Kushima are alive in the alternate reality Or Genjitsu World. And their son is named Menma, not Naruto. Whether it is a different dimension or different timeline, sometimes I can’t help but wanting to explore the “what if” scenario within the Naruto franchise. Think of the infinite possibilities!

I have some: Rio Rainbow Gate: Rio and Rina are torn apart by Cartia but in the end their friendship is fixed Gosick: Victorique separated from Kujo during the war but eventually they are renuited Akame ga kill: losing comrades and friends during a war Trinity seven: separated from friends Highschool of the dead, Rei dumps Takashi for his friend, the world goes to a post apocalypse, losing friends, Alice losing her father, Rei trying to reconcile with Takashi, Saya leaving her parents, (in the manga further), a senior couple enjoying last moments, the biggest heartbreak is when the series creator passed away from his longtime battle with heart disease and the artist and editor don’t wanna continue the manga because of that, I do hope they get the courage to find out what the writer was planning for the series, even if they don’t want to continue the manga, maybe a season 2 could work better Is this a zombie: the main character loses memory Clockwork planet: Anchor crying while Marie cries as well, possibly death but survived Absolute Duo: character almost dies but thankfully he doesn’t, plus one character brainwashed by rebels but gets free Btooom: Tiara San committing suicide My bride is a mermaid: Natasumi separated from Sun but he saves her Dragonar academy: Ash risking himself to save Eco and she is in sadness that he could die World break: the main guy losing something near and dear to him Chivalry of a failed knight: the main character separated from others and being tormented by a committee Nagi-Asu: A Lull in the Sea: the main guy trying to get his girlfriend from becoming a sea sacrifice Please Teacher & Please Twins: siblings and lovers separated but reunited Pretear: A main character dies and the main villain reforms Shounen Maid: a boy loses his mother and even staying with his uncle, he has a vision of her one night Dusk Maiden of Amnesia: Yuuko departs from the world of the living but she then returns Murder Princess: making an ultimate sacrifice in the end Love Tyrant: Akane being forced to murder Seiji by her mother but she can’t do it because she loves him, (in the manga), Suo crying over her long reunion with Akane and Yuzu’s father Date a live: people getting killed but brought back to life, Natsumi stealing from Shido but she later apologizes Elfen Lied: Lucy apologizing for murdering Kouta’s family, people dying and world going into chaos Fuuka: in the manga, she is killed. Anya crying and Rengoku’s dad just had to be here. It’s absolutely impossible not to feel anything after such a sad moment. I really feel sorry for Faye and Digimon Kizuna…..man that was a heartbreaking ending. The movie in general felt like it was growing up with long time fans.

Wolf Children is a movie watching one time. I cry too much seeing it.

Okay, I get that Bye Bye Butterfree was sad and still is, but I still wouldn't call it the saddest moment in Pokemon. There have been countless other moments that are arguably sadder than that. I mean, the episode where Mallow met with her dead mom definitely made my heart ache

Anime adaptation of akame ga kill is sad too, the ones who watched the anime first will probably get depressed but the others that read the manga will still be fine from what I've think

Rengoku (Demon Slayer) and Kaori's (Your Lie in April) deaths still hits me really hard, so hard that I always cry like a baby every time I listen to their respective theme songs

Nighteye’s death in My Hero Academia Season 4 hit me harder than a United States of Smash.

To find out the truth behind the "Sleeping Knights" and especially Yuuki's death was probably the most heartbreaking thing in Sword Art Online

For me, one of the saddest ones was the Yugioh: Duel Monsters - Atem's farewell (Japanese sub). The music playing in the background while Atem leaves for the afterlife to leave all his friends behind was one of the saddest, yet happy moments that I still remember to this day.

Made in abyss... Many of you will jump to the obvious moment of death of Prushka. But for me the most heartbreaking was scene when Riko and Reg departed "field base" and everyone present is basically aware they will never return...

Once The anime is done demon slayer is going to have a 20+ list for heartbreaking moments, moments that broke the internet, best fights, character back stories

Fail. The most heartbreaking moment in anime is to be found in ‘Grave of the Fireflies’. After watching it, you will burn with shame for having suggested Digimon.

I’m still sad about Kyojuros death. Even though he was there for such a small time he instantly became my favorite Hashira

Bye bye butterfree had me in the verge of tears the first time I saw pokemon indigo league. The scene was so immensely sad and beautiful that it nearly made me cry, and I try not to cry a whole lot.

What about clannad or clannad after story, One piece when shank died or fmab when his daughter is yelling that her dad is too busy to be buried?

I found most of these ridiculous rather than sad, except for Valentine's video. Should have considered the final scene from Now and Then, Here and There.

For Naruto, I believe Edo Itachi's goodbye to Sasuke, Jiraiya's death were more sad.. however you should've considered Naruto's final farewell to Minato after the ninja war.... that moment was tear dropping
