Thank you Art Analyst, thanks for tuning in!
These works all seem to be private in private hands. The majority will never have the opportunity to really "look" at these works. That is one of the shames of art being an expensive commodity.

Hi George, terrific point. There has been a lot of work going on to make private collections visible again. So many masterpieces are hidden in those private collections. Some of these are even impossible to have a decent resolution photograph. Challenging for sure!
A direção linear do abstrato, tudo de bom.
Why did you use the fake (not by Francis Bacon) mock "Three studies of Lucian Freud"? It's used twice in the section about this painting and looks like some kind of Photographic studio mock-up!
some of these could be considered "modern", how about making a list of living contemporary artists
@contemporaryartissue

Hi Alberto, thank you for tuning in. I agree 100%, half of them are in fact rather modern artists than contemporary artists. To avoid any confusion, we opted to go for all post-war artworks. Living artists is also a bit tricky in my opinion. Think of Basquiat who passed away so soon, but clearly is a relevant and important contemporary artist.

Incredible stuff by implication. Crimes have been committed here by culprits in the market. Have laws been broken? No. Is my ego crushed? Yes. To the victor goes the spoils! Keep it coming CAI. Even though I have blown myself up (trying to put all this together) now using toothpicks as crutches and currently convalescing. Licking my career wounds. Keep it coming! I’m like that guy in Monty Python walking on stumps and still charging forward!

So would I. I'd probably get a great return on my $37 investment. ☺
Polock seems to me is the best ones out of all these paintings I feel these paintings are no more then a way to invest money.
The art of buy; the buy art.
whatever one's opinion on definition or commodification - most of these works are representative of watershed breakthrough moments in art and the evolution of humanity (tho I'm not sure de kooning fits in that league). so, the desire to acquire something so unique is understandable if one has the means. The very wealthy are not without discernment and passion about art. many works they purchase don''t appreciate dramatically if at all, or they devalue significantly. there are many wealthy people who do support emerging artists. We would all like to be one of the lucky ones, but we have to be good enough.

Thank you for that. I weary of the naysayers accusations of the entire business of modern art being a fraud committed by the super wealthy lusting after the dubious talent of opportunistic hucksters looking to hop on the band wagon of big bucks and hollow fame.

Hi George, thank you for tuning in. Even half as much is still a lot!
This has more to do with obscene amounts of wealth, highly-prized artefacts as status symbols, and investment potential, than the art itself. .
Sounds like Steve Cohen just has a lot of money he needs to embezzle.
I hope someday my art also expensive like they all 👐👐

Art?
The narrative is slaughtered here.
The interesting thing is, how Expensive a Artwork is does not have anything to do with how good a Artwork is. This is one of if not the biggest misconceptions perpetuated in the art world.

You are absolutely right, with the exception of Basquiat - and Roy Lichtenstein balancing between modern and contemporary - all artists are modern artists. I will revise the title asap. Thank you for the comment!

This i an insult to good art.
There should be a prize for this stream of pretentious words that have no meaning. But that is perhaps a useful metaphor for the paintings and painters presented here as significant. I’m probably more interested in why this piece annoys and irritates me.
You call it contemporary. I call it graffiti.
