Actually if you passout in Pokemon Blue after playing 8hrs straight its not boring, or maybe it is, or its addicting & long. The worst part is when it was your only save file & you were testing out whatever it was & your parent walks by & saves. YEA the game isn't bad THE PARENT IS!, WHEN DID THEY LEARN HOW TO SAVE, SUCH ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY SHOULD HAVE BEEN A BARRIER TO ENTRY, JUST LET THE GAMEBOY DIE! RIP LV100 GENGAR ! YOU WERE ALREADY DEAD BUT YOU WERE CAST INTO THE VOID FAR TO SOON!, & ALL THE OTHER POKEMON GOING WTF ABOUT US!

@@filmghost239 this is what I know about quest 64. 1. The characters are bland and uninteresting. Seriously, name one cool character in this game and tell me why they are cool. 2. The combat is bland and uninteresting, usually spamming magic barrier over and over to cheese enemies. 3. The locations are forgettable save the floating monetary at the end, but even that is repetitive. 4. You never acquire new party members 5. There are no side quests 6. The story is boring and one-dimensional 7. There is no character development besides Mammon's puppet thinking she might try to understand humans more. 8. There are no secrets to uncover other than finding spirits 9. No new weapons/armor 10. Acquiring new spells is a nightmare because it is blind progress unless you have previous knowledge or a guide to tell you how to invest your spirit points. 11. The music is generic outside of a few catchy jingles here and there. Tell me again how I obviously don't know anything about a game I've beaten multiple times.

@@foutskazuya1425 "It's boring even though I've beaten it multiple times." What a salty hypocrite moron. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 1. The combat is unique and invented a system that several games like Arc the Lad and Fairy Fencer take from. 2.The spell tree is meant for you to experiment with. You have the choice of looking up a guide for anything. That's just a matter of spoiling games. 3. Games don't need a story to be good. Games are more fun when there's more time spent on gameplay. 4. I'm glad there's no side quests. Side quests are useless and boring in any game. 5. The designs of characters and monsters are pleasing to look at. It's an older game. The locations look fine. 6. Magic barrier is a final skill. It's well earned. 7. You obviously don't need other party members. The game makes you manage your turns. 8. You obviously don't need weapons and armor. It's called *leveling up* and *unlocking better spells* 9. You failed to realize that the Japanese and European versions of the game are better balanced than the English version. Along with being titled 'Eltale Monsters' and 'Holy Magic Century.' 10. You also failed to realize that there is a gameboy version of the game. So you just embarassed yourself. You're very inexperienced with older games. That just shows what garbage games like Persona does to you. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

The most boring JRPG I ever played was Quest 64. I went the straight Nintendo route so I was like "Finally an RPG for the N-64". BIG mistake. I can't even remember if I beat it or not. An RPG with no towns, minimal NPCs and ZERO companions. It's like the framework for an RPG but they quit halfway through.

Too many characters that dont really get much character development aside from a few, the locations were kinda boring ( its like one island and a few smaller islands, not many different environments). Also I didn’t really like the ost surprisingly. Theres not much i could point out that i enjoyed about the game. Too each his own though, i can see why some people do like it the same way i can see why some people enjoy legend of dragoon which I couldn’t finish but thought was much better than chrono cross. Its all subjective.

The problem with Chrono Cross is that is has the Chrono name attached to it. People go into it thinking “Great. This is going to be all the things I loved about Chrono Trigger but just the next generation and more of it” What Chrono Cross did wrong is that it abandoned all the things that people liked about the previous title. People didn’t want them to expand the cast from 8-10 to 40; they wanted them to keep the tight knit group but expand using the technology to make them more fleshed out; more backstory, more quests personalized to them, more things for them to do, more interactions with other characters, posssibly voice acting and FMV cut scenes, there are many things they could have done with next generation consoles. Also the concept of time travel. The great thing about Chrono Trigger was that there was always a sense of familiarity with the world except the environment around it has been completely altered depending on the time frame. This provided basically completely different worlds to explore even though it was the same one each time. Chrono Cross chose not to expand upon that; when it could have really used the next generation power to really make for unique experiences. Like say for example you were going through an area and you can see a treasure in an area with a bunch of collapsed pillars but there is no way to get up to it. You go back in time 6,000 years and all the pillars are still standing but you don’t have a way to knock a pillar down. You go 10,000 years in the future and you get some explosives. You go back 10,000 years and blow up a pillar and it falls to a spot where if you go forward 6,000 years you can walk up it and get to the area with the treasure now. They could have had all kinds of cause and effect things like that happen in the world with a time travel element; and yes I understand that does exist in Chrono Cross, but it’s not a key focal point to exploration. And I don’t know why game companies do this kind of stuff. When you have a hit and people just want more of the game they already love; just give them more of that same thing just updated graphics and mechanics. People can bitch and complain about things like Madden 2021 for example... but guess what? They are going to buy it because it’s the same Madden that has been put out 21 times before it just updated.

I disagree about the Cosmospheres in Ar Tonellico, people tend to look at it as a dating simulator but there is more to it than that, like seeing the Reyvatails overcoming their diferences, insecurities, sadness and fears and developing throughout the plot as characters and getting new powers for doing it, so do not pull the cheap card "it is only meant for straight guys kinda of thing", I´d say it´s more for a Graphic Novel than just a dating simulator, unless of course you don´t like GN.

However in his defense I can see his viewpoint about these games. I just can’t agree with them. Although lots of people don’t like to admit it, the reason why there is hate about Crono Cross is because it was not a sequel to Trigger and sadly that fact that it wasn’t just turned people off. I don’t think it mattered how good the game was. They didn’t get what they wanted so they took their frustrations out on Cross by turning against it. Maybe he falls in this camp? I can agree that Tales of Legendia wasn’t the best tales game but maybe he really doesn’t care for random surprise battles? I can see that. Isn’t this one of the few if not the only Tales game that has this? With Ar Tonileco, we already know he is gay, so maybe the parts with the women in the game were a turnoff for him? Xenosaga 2 wasn’t that great but unlike him the story kept me going to beat it. 80 hours to beat it? I thinking he was determined to do those bad side quests but didn’t have an online guide. So without that guide and doing those quests I can certainly see why his opinion on the game is very low and why it took him so long. I do agree with him on Atlier and Harvest Moon. I can’t get into them, at all. Erick Landon is my top choice as well. I wouldn’t have discovered the greatness that is Eternal Sonata if it wasn’t for Erick.

The problem with CC is... 1). The battle system. I don't know what they were thinking. All of the characters seem terrible and weak as hell except Glenn and Serge, they hit like pool noodles. 2). The character progression system is terrible. Only getting "levelups" at bosses forces a set difficulty on the player. If you want to make the game easier? Nope, can't do that. Want to make it harder? You'd have to impose challenges upon yourself, or something. Oh, and random stat gains only when killing bosses is puke-worthy. If you get a bad levelup, have fun fighting the boss again to hopefully get a better one this time. 3). Having to set and re-set characters' spells every time someone new joins your party is bleh. Yeah they got an auto-fill option, but it's still kinda meh. I think CC would have been a much better game if they would have kept the format from Chrono Trigger and maybe toned down the sheer number of characters that joined your group, seriously you don't need every Tom, Dick, and Sue joining your group.

It has a lot of funny moments, and after the ending comes each character's past. They were actually really touching for me. I was sad when it's finally about the last character and they said goodbye. The soundtrack for the touching part also gets me, it was quite memorable. Atelier Arland series is more about casual gameplay I think 😅 I haven't finish Totori but I have finished Rorona and Meruru I think Rorona is more a game you play when you have no other game, so that it won't feel boring 😅 As for Meruru, I like it, has a lot of things to do, watching the kingdom slowly grows from your effort is the part I find the most satisfying 😌 also the part when you can overcome strong opponents. The only farm sim game I played was Rune Factory 4. I suspect that is one of the best ones. People really praise that indie game that came out like 5 or so years ago though. I forget the name. I didn't see anything about it that made me think I tried that instead though.

@@Ghalion666 I've played Harvest Moon for the first time last summer and finished it. I would call it life simulator with rpg elements, but yeah... back in the days everything was simpler ;) Maybe you think about Stardew Valley? Great game with vivid characters, nice variety and pace...the music... so good. Rune Factory 4? I felt overwhelmed by possibilities and all the stuff. Combat system is also like meh. Not to mention difficulty ballance, which is broken. Try Stardew Valley. It's almost perfect in my opinion.

Mystic Quest was easy and straightforward but I didn't really find it boring. To me, the best thing about that game was the music. That game had no right having music as good as it was for a game that was billed as an introduction to new JRPG players, or as I was told, a game that was made because the people in the west thought JRPGs were too hard so they had to "dumb it down" for us.

The localization not dubbing the second half of the game, the ridiculous length, and the poor structure of the second half in general causing the character chapters to feel like needless padding all made the conclusion a real grind to get too. So.... obligatory 7th Saga Hint Post! *1: Look up who will get the Star Rune, and make sure this apprentice is not who you want. For example if you start as Kamil, Olvaan will always get the Star Rune. But, if you recruit him before going to Melenam, then it falls to Lejes. Bonus Hint, Lejes' AI can be cheesed. He will always cast Defense Down until you are at the lowest defense possible. Use B-Protects to raise your Defense until he misses, then use a B.Power, and then get your defense back up and wait for him to miss again. Defend, Attack and hope he dies in one shot. This works no matter what level you are. If you have the Star Rune, then Lejes is a pushover because you can do this infinitely but if you're fighting him for the star rune, you'll need to do some save scumming hoping he will miss enough times before you run out of bottles (since you can only carry 9). *2: You never, ever, ever have to fight a single Apprentice with the exception of the one who gets the Star Rune. If an apprentice has a rune you want, save at the inn. If they want to fight, reload and fight 5-10 battles and ask them again, and keep doing that until they join your group. *3: *DO NOT XP GRIND WITH A PARTNER!* The game splits XP earned between the two of you. Want fast levelups? Have your partner die and then go out and fight alone on some weaker enemies. You get (slightly) less XP but the battles will be easy and *ALL* of the XP goes to your main hero. To level your partner up, recruit a new partner and then find your old partner and re-recruit him using the tips from #2. EDIT: And if you want, I got a Let's Play of 7th Saga on my channel, where I get to Level 78 (which is absolutely overkill) in 25 hours right before you go back in time. I need to finish that playthrough. 25h is not that bad for almost max level in what they call "the grindiest RPG" (hardly).

By the time I played SoM, all I could really think about it, is that it was a universally inferior version of SD3 - which makes sense, because SDIII is SoM2. The Music was comparable, the plot was comparable but better in SDIII, due to the greater variety and double the cast of characters. The graphics were better, the art style was much better, and the most better was the gameplay. That game's still freakin' fun in 2022, and I doubt it'll ever lose it's appeal.

This game was rare to find in my hometown. Finally, I got lucky and someone traded a copy in. I had my mom take me down and I traded a bunch of games for it. I was super excited. I think I spent an entire summer break playing that game. I recently tried to play it again just for that nostalgic feeling but it was not as I remembered it to be! I was like man.....I have a lot of memories with this game but I can't play it again. Now, Chrono Cross was amazing. I played that game on multiple play throughs just to try and collect every character!!! Good stuff! To be honest, I haven't really heard of the rest of the list.

Its friggin plot holes galore, I still consider episode 1 as the complete story in presentation, episode 2 went out with nonsense fillers and plot holes making the lore even more confusing, and episode 3 did not really resolved that much of what was presented in the previous game.

Can't say much about the list, didn't play most of them. At some point I thought I had to play as many JRPGs as possible but lack of time always got in the way. But recently there is a superloved JRPG that got me bored: Persona 5. Going to the palaces was boring after you discover the weakness of the enemies and then you have to go fighting them for a long time. Then you have to leave and go back another day to repeat everything again... Oh man, at the time I never paid so much for a normal game and even so I just gave up on trying after starting the 3rd palace.

Opoona is one of my favorite RPGs on the Wii. For me, exploring the game's towns, finding secrets, and vibing to the music feels great. In a weird way, it reminds me of a JRPG, child-friendly version of Mass Effect. The battle system is very unique and challenging in some parts. I was first drawn to the game because it was made by Arte Piazza, the developers of the remakes of Dragon Quest IV-VII and they even made the 2D mode in DQXI S. I won't deny that the mundane and MANDATORY jobs you have to do to progress are boring and a blemish on an otherwise good game.
