For some reason Vosteed can't get the heat treat down on 154cm. They started out using it and then moved to 14c and nitroV. Personally I prefer 154cm over both of those

The Padre has been my most carried by far since getting it last month. I got the reverse tux DLC😮‍💨 just a perfect knife imo. Wouldn’t mind a mini Padre, though.

I wish I would have never bought a Benchmade in my entire life. All are on blade binge. Kizer shits all over them in every single way. Action, design, and materials for price is unmatched. I’ll never buy a Benchmade in my life again.

i generally agree, though i personally find kizer to be a good example regarding price:materials, and a bad example regarding quality. every kizer i have regardless of price (i have 5) has had multiple QC issues, some being rather extreme like major gouges on the detent track, warped washers, ill-fitting stop pins, scale and blade edges having burs, impossible to center blades, and uneven finishes and machining. I have like 14 or 15 civivi/WE knives and have had issues with 1 civivi and 0 WEs. i could just be unlucky. I ordered a varatas to give kizer one more chance because everyone blows their load for kizer, so hopefully i get a good unit.

Padre is my favorite EDC as well. Johnny-T-Knives is making me a timascus back spacer and clip for mine. I like the Padre so much I bought a 2nd in gmascus.

So you had no issues upgrading the ball cage on the manix 2 lightweight. I have read and heard, that with the lightweight model ( new with screws ) would not work with the aluminum & titanium ball cage and even the ceramic ball. If that is so, that is good news indeed, great mods ! Thanks

Same issue I have with my psyop. I absolutely adore the action and the build quality, but in my opinion the pressure required to close is unacceptable. I’m near pressing the button passed the scales to get it to drop. I’m swapping mine in for another so it’s a bummer to hear it may just be how it’s made. Maybe it will break in eventually. If mine didn’t have detent play when closed as well I probably would have just kept it and dealt with the extreme pressure required to close it.

You know, I got to thinking about it and even if it breaks in, the button still needs to be pushed in to clear the side of the blade. So what my friend said wasn’t right. The break point is the break point.
