It's too bad Storm gets no love in the movies because she really is the most iconic of all the X-Men IMO. She's my favorite as well as millions of other people's favorites. Ororo Monroe. You are the best.

Storm was pretty strong in the movies and Rouge was just being introduced so she had not absorbed Marvels power yet so they were spot on even though it wasn't the Wonder Woman like one from the cartoon

Also the discussion is who's more badass, Storms simply a much better and experienced fighter both with and without powers.

On top of that, they chose the wrong person to play her. There's actually an actress who looked just like her. She's on Day of Our Lives and played one the baby mamas to Demitri. I saw one episode she had bleach blonde hair and had to look to make sure it really wasn't Storm. All she needed was the blue eyes lol. I would have to look up her name though

Don't understand how Mystique is ABOVE Emma or Jean...two of the most kick-ass superwomen EVER. I think this list was too heavily influenced by the movies. But I think we all can agree that Storm is always #1.

Storm is definitely #1. If it were not for Storm, Xmen probably wouldn't have had the popularity it has now. Marvel had to come up with new concepts because people weren't interested in X-men comics in the beginning. And the Storm was that concept that helped save the entire franchise. It's really sad how underestimated her abilities are in the movies. They made her powers seem so weak and kind of useless at times. Nothing like the comics. Storm's powers are so strong she can suck the air out of someone's lungs, or use wind to skin a person alive. She can even close her mind to Xavier and he wouldn't even be able to find her...even with Cerebro. As much as I love Halle Berry I still feel like an actress like Angela Bassett would have made a stronger character. But, then again every actor and actress would have had to keep up because she might have made too strong of a character for the movie and there might have been an off balance. OR better movies with better plots and back stories. Hell... Storm might even have had her own damn movie by now which we all know is long over due. But, they keep DUMBING her down . Even I have no interest in seeing an Ororo Munroe movie with the actresses they have portraying her now! Just sayin....stepping down off my soap box now.

Couldn't agree more with the choice of Angela Bassett to portrait Storm the best! I have always dreamt that! Hopefully some day the screenwriters and producers get to see the impact that movie will be, to my belief, further grander than Black Panther's. Ororo's forever!

@@camm8642 Wolverine was not the break out character they made him the breakout character everytime Storms eyes went white in the theaters the audience goes “ooooh Shit” she’s a total scene stealer and powers are beyond useful it was said they didn’t utilize her to her fullest extent cuz it cost to much money for an already expensive movie. So they focused on wolverine who basically jus needed stunt doubles unlike Storm who needs cgi and harnesses to make her fly the poor way they made her fly by standing up leaning forward it was pitiful. People wanted to see Rogue fly and be strong they wanted to see Storm flying around outside in the sky conjuring all kinds of elements and Jean being taken over by the Phoenix not wolverine all the time

@@RUNRO1 I was talking about the comics he was absolutely was the breakout character.........storm was one as well but not to the extent wolverine was.....all of the giant size team proved more popular then the originals but especially wolverine,storm and nightcrawler and to a lesser extent colossus as well...but the most popular xman is wolverine its that simple others such as storm are prominent and highly popular though its not a slight at her or others....the movies did make mistake focusing so heavily on him no doubt about that he should be an important part of the team but not nearly as central as they made him.

Rogue was one of my favorites in the X-Men animated series. Shame that she was portrayed differently in the films. Aside from her I love Storm and Psylocke.

the Mystique actress in the first 3 movies is what put her on the map, and she did a way better job than Jennifer Lawrence, most of Mystique's iconic movie moments are during X-men 1 and 2. Nothing against Jennifer, but she's just not the right person for the roll and ruined the character.

Yeah, i also liked Rebecca Romijn much more as Mystique. Jennifer Lawrence also looks somehow strange in the blue form, her head is much to big somehow. But in general Mystique should not be before Jean. Has she even been really an X-Men at any time ? Beside pushing her in the last movies because of Jennifer L. (don't even understand the hype about her) i only know her as villain.

I dont know if the xmen first class was ever spoken that it was cannon or just stories to take place. All i have heard from people in the comics biz talk is that neither quicksilver or scarlet witch were ever xmen. Quicksilver stayed with them after onslaught but only as a guest and he was in xfactor but I dont think the twins ever were xmen

The Queen of the elements totally deserves to be #1. Ororo Munroe has always been my favorite X-Man (Woman). She is a true leader. Brave, compassionate, smart and FIERCE! Mystique has NO business on this list whatsoever. And they put her before Jean and Rogue?! wtf? Also, that's a pretty good list of honorable mentions. Personally, I would love to see Dazzler and Polaris (with her green hair) in future movies.......as long as the casting is good and they play it right.

storm came from bloodline of witches... if she gets creative, she can do a lot more. energy manipulators are very versatile

I absolutely agree with Storm at 1st place.

storm could actually be the most powerful mutant Xavier's ever taught possibly be immortal. there is a comic that shows her evolved into a elemental being. also she was captured by doctor doom an enclosed in organic steel. she absorbed energy patterns from the planets surface across the world into one place. she was evolving into a being similar to the elemental one, but was reminded to stop before she had to be killed while they had the chance. also i think she holds back because if she did move on she would lose the bond she made with material things such as; love, sex, happiness, and the feeling of being human. She has faced lots of loneliness due to how powerful she is. i think as much as she dislikes it, she would rather feel those things then be with out. storm has much more examples to tell. but u gotta read to see that. marvel don't like females as much as they claim to, or they would treat them better. storm is beyond over due for a origins comic, an a revamp on her magik use and update to her powers #justiceforstorm.

You are officially my favorite person. Back in the comics from the 1980's (i own a lot of them) and Storm is the leader of the X-men for most of it, not to mention she is of African descent, which brought beautiful color to the X-men. There were so many instances were Storm saved the X-men from sticky situations, or was the only to survive and fight (Brood, Vampires, Doctor Doom etc.) I'm only 13, but Storm has been a big inspiration my whole life, it sucks to see what they did to her in the recent X-men movies, making it so that she had the bloodstorm look, not originally having white hair and blue eyes. I cant stand what the movies have made her look like. Its refreshing to come to this top ten and see her as #1

Thank you Chris Claremont for giving the women of the X-MEN these strong personalities especially Storm and Rogue.

Rogue and Psylocke are still my favorites. I remember one of the creators of Storm being worried readers would think she was someone’s grandmother cause of her white hair. Dave Cockrum said no one would think that. He was right. Great list btw!

I say that it's about damn time that Ororo Munroe get the recognition that she deserves. Next to Jean Grey, Storm is a goddess with practically unlimited power. Halle Berry did a great job portraying her but I feel that they could have highlighted her along with some of the others more than Wolverine.

Yeah cause in the movies they don't show just how powerful storm really is. Magneto on the other hand has hit rock bottom early on in his life so his power levels seem higher but if storm used her full power she could switch the poles on metal or remove protons from them stopping them from being magnetic but on another note magneto can control the entire earths magnetic field to his advantage.

either Jean and Storm tie or Jean's first, I mean Jean was a first for multiple things of the superhero genre, not to mention she was largely the reason for most of the X-Mythos and had not only the most successful X-Men storyline but one of the most successful hero stories and well known

I agree with most of the list. Jean Grey is #1 for me though and others I would place in a different order. Definitely would have Mystique on a lower level and Psyloche, Rogue, and Scarlet Witch at least above her

Fallen Angel but remember it's based on being Badass not power, don't you think Storm and Mystique are badass?

Storm and Rogue are amazing but the movies didn’t do them justice at all but for that matter who did the movies get right. I love that they put Jubilee on the list cause man is she so much more then what we have all seen on TV.

Storm us like the mother of the X Men

I can stomach Jean Grey being placed behind Storm, but not Mystique. What the hell were they thinking? Other than that, I was very glad to see Rachel and Polaris both get mentioned. I feared they had been forgotten.

Psylocke should be on the top 5 and Mystique should be way lower....

some understimated women with mental powers should exchange with mystique's place..they can detect her.

Storm will always be my favorite, especially since in the movies they made her seem weak even tho she’s insanely powerful

Jean is The no1 because of her power of the Phoenix and she is the first X-woman.

I agree with storm and jean but I think rogue should have been in top 3 and psylocke should have been in the top 5.

storm's my favorite since the 90's.

This is my version of the women's illuminate group: 1) Storm 2) Jean G 3) Captain Marvel 4) Scarlett witch 5) Meduza 6) Emma Frost 7) Invisible Woman

Hopefully Storm, Rogue, and the others will be treated with respect in the MCU. Plus, with the fact that magic and cosmic whatsit is represented in those films, let's also hope Juggernaut and the Phoenix Force will be portrayed accurately.

So Scarlett Witch is practically undefeatable, dispowered millions of mutants, and created separate realities but she's only number 7?

her and jean phoenix never fought but phoenix did break scarlet witch's no more mutants spell at the end of avx

Mysterious Turtle not only that but she has omega level potential. Emma Frost sensed that in her, she can destroy the world if she wants to.

It's amazing how much depth each X-Men character has with so much characters to write for

Great list. Still I say X23 could've made the list. Also if Mystique was #1 I would've been pissed.

even when I was a kid, Storm character and mutant powers fascinated me the most and the evolution of her looks through the years is just awesome. I hope someday a befitting movie about Storm can be made. It's even said that Storm's powers are so awesome that it can be planetary and inter-planetary wide (i.e. she can control the atmosphere from other planets) to sickeningly frightening (she can manipulated the very air in your lungs). And wielding the thunderbolts is nearly God-like!

Rogue should have a Solo movie now that Captain Marvel is out. They can show how Rogue stole her powers and become the powerful mutant she had become.

Good to see Storm get the credit she. deserves. I'm still waiting to see a movie that does her powers justice.
