As much as I loved Tim Howard’s performance.... Joe Hart was sensational against Barcelona.... he did everything except stand on his head!!

Manuel Neuer vs FC Porto 2008 has to be one of the most unbelievable performances put out by a goalkeeper ever. It was after that match that the germans started to believe they had finally found a real subsitute for Mr. Oliver Kahn.

I was expecting Neuer vs Porto to be no.1. These other games were all good, but nothing compares to that evening, Neuer basically won the game single-handedly. Clearly the guy who made the video hasn't seen it, or it would be up there. The match vs ManU was the same season, also good, but not as good as vs Porto.

1984 neuer was simply a monster in this game yeah..and the save against a header in the second time was the best save i ha ve ever seen. .unbelievable what neuer did in this match a human wall!

David Marshall v Barcelona 2004..What an excellent display of goalkeeping that was for a then 19yr old at the Camp Nou.

When sir Alex Ferguson shook Neuers hand he knew he was shaking the hands with the best goalie in the world.

neuer before his horrible injury that kept him out for almost a year before 2018 World Cup is a different kind of keeper. he carried the team which is hardly seen from a keeper. calm on the ball, great passes and many amazing saves. he has many heroic goalkeeping performances.

Casillas was best keeper ever by my preference (reflexes, one on ones). De Gea is not on his level but is similar. Who watched football in Casillas prime knows that. And he was first choice keeper at age 18. I think he got chance in front of Canizares (another great keeper) This cat reflexes reminds me how astonished i was by his saves when i was kid. I am Barca fan, congrats to Real Madrid for having one of best keepers ever. For me number 1

The save at 5:09 by Hart is the masterpiece of saves, so like Zoff against Brasil in mundial 1982.

Something about that Tim Howard game has always stuck with me. This video confirms it: he parried/punch a lot of shots he should have caught. Belgium were rather poor with their finishing (they never really put the ball in the corner). Punching a shot you should catch is like blocking a shot out of bounds in basketball: you did good, but you also gave your opponents another possession. Also: this is a good list of saves in high profile matches. Watch more football, and you’ll see more spectacular goalkeeping displays in the games that are never on prime time.

When I played comp soccer as a keeper, it wasn't the easiest assignment. Not only did I have to defend the goal from shots, but I was also responsible to set up the counter attack and shout commands to my back line. I can imagine that the requirements get harder, especially at the professional level.
