I like this format and appreciate the mix of patterns you’ve knitted and want to knit. I agree about looking at what others have made on the Ravelry Project Page to get a good sense of the pattern. I like to see the colors and brands of yarn used. It is especially helpful with garments cuz I’m an XL and the project pages offer such divers body shapes. Thanks and wishing you well.

The water is so peaceful. I’ve been to Osaka but would love to see more of Japan & the region.

Okinawa is worth a visit, it's so different from the rest of the country.

Cool! Mags Kandis. I met her in Toronto in the late 1980s. She worked in a "co-op" of fellow knitters and I took a design class with her and her knitting partners. It was very cool. I remember this hat very well. She also had knitted it with black and white checkered yarn along with the color and, I think bobbles! The hats appeared all across Canada.

I learned something new today! I'll have to see if I can dig up more info on Mags Kandis.

I just discovered your channel through Lisa from and sew on. I love your presence, knitting content and the lovely excursion at the end. Subscribed and will go back to earlier episodes as well! Thank you so much and greetings from a Swiss knitter living in California 💕

I love the tours of these places you take us to. I know you've been there for several years. Did you move there because you always wanted to live there? Or you just happened to live there because of work. And if it's because of work, where would you live if you chose your spot? I really like when you do the favorites lists of things, like the hats. It gives me new ideas and patterns to consider that I would not have found on my own. I like seeing all the patterns, not just the newest ones out there. Thank you for sharing all of this with us. Take care and well wishes.

I'm glad to here that feedback! I came to Oki for work and it isn't where I plan to stay. I think my future forever home will be somewhere cold with beautiful mountains. We've been considering Alaska or New Zealand.

I'm with you, I like the less well known patterns. I like doing things with zero Ravelry projects, as well as test knits. Now I may have to learn crochet to do that crazy goat hat. That I would never wear...process maker here.

Yeah, that hat has been in the queue for a while now, but it's so cool. I want to buy a wig stand just to knit it and put it on the shelf as decoration.

Hi Deanna, saying hi from Munich, Germany. I am a fan of your podcast, I love your "master knitter" comments, what you knit and recommend. As I am in this knitter scene only since end of last year, the fact that you deep dive into patterns from earlier years is very interesting for me.

I made my nephew the dragon hat a couple years ago. I much prefer knitting but it was worth it to crochet the hat. So cool..

How was the pattern? Did you think it was pretty easy to follow? My crochet skills rely heavily on youtube tutorials.

@@haxtonknits it was easy to follow. The hardest thing was there are lots of little pieces to make and see on.

Krampus is the anti-Santa, who scares naughty children around Christmas time. Alpine folklore. Also a Christmas horror movie.
