I've unlocked all Characters by using a certain Cheat code by typing the buttons on the beginning of the Menu screen, and that's how I was able to play good characters🎮🎮.

In Final Fantasy Tactics, you can unlock Cloud around halfway through Chapter 4 (the game ends after Chapter 4). He’s Level 1 when you get him, and you need to use Move-Find Item (with any character) and go to the top of the rock in Bervenia Volcano to get his Materia Sword in order for him to be able to use his abilities. It’s a lot of running around for an underleveled character, but it’s neat that he’s in the game. Finding all this stuff is pretty obscure if you’ve never played the game before, the game is very light on side quests and they’re kinda hidden, so you might wanna use a guide.

The gunslinger from Enter the Gungeon is a forgotten mention here. Having to unlock the paradox, beat the lich as paradox, only to get a chance to play as the gunslinger. Then have to win again against his past, an alternate version of the lich, do you unlock him.

I actually unlocked CLOUD in FINAL FANTASY TACTICS! He was legitimately powerful, but needed his BUSTER SWORD to use him properly. And yeah, unlocking him was so difficult…

Mii Outfit B in Mario Kart Wii. Not only do you have to set records on all courses in time trial mode, you also have to unlock the fast/expert staff ghosts for all the courses and some normal staff ghosts are hard to even beat, such as the ghost for SNES Mario Circuit 3 because the ghost takes the gap cut shortcut, forcing you to do the same

TT from Diddy Kong racing was a very hard character to unlock.

I hear many say that unlocking Seth in the original street fighter 4 was extremely difficult, but I don't remember it being the hardest thing. I just remember beating Akuma and gouken was tough, but nothing I couldn't handle after a few tries but unlocking every character in order to unlock Seth was just time consuming

I remember unlocking Mewtoo in Smash melee.... you had to play vs mode for 20 hours or 50 matches

It was 700 matches....I read somewhere the best way to do it is to put 2 human characters in a battle arena without stage hazards with 1 stock and just leave the game on for 20 hours...go to bed for the night. The wake up and end the battle.

Mewtwo has an easier way. Put 4 GameCube controllers n just wait it out, like Pokemon stadium. Put all character in center n do something else. All time will accumulate.

Where’s T.T. From Diddy Kong Racing? Also, Spiritomb in DPPt is also a pain in the butt, especially with no GTS and Gholdengo in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

I am proud to say that i have unlocked William Bordin 😁 Tip: Use Napalm 99/Golem for the 99 stages (easy S Ranks) and use any character for the 100th stage (since Bordin can be taken out with 1 special art) in free mode. Urban Reign is a very underrated game, I was surprised that it even got nominated in this top 10.

I think Deneb in PS1's Tactics Ogre was far harder than Cloud in FFT. Having to recruit 3 of each dragon and monster for the orbs, finding her shop based on the day of the month, doing both the Palace of the Dead **and** the secret sidequests for her was a slog. Cloud was bad, yes. Deneb was a huuuuuge grind.

I remember playing Chrono Cross all the time as a kid and unlocking Skelly….I didn’t have a strategy guide though….but anytime I played that game I wanted to unlock him lol

I was able to unlock Chris in Persona 1. Luckily the manual came with a little slip of paper that gave me steps on how to unlock him. I can Thank my Dad for buying me this unexpected gem when I was younger.

I remember unlocking cloud but since you get him so late in the game and he starts at level 1 I just kept him in my rooster and never got around to leveling him up. I mean once you get Orlandu and Beowulf (and unlock the dark knight class on psp/mobile) and level those guys up (and they’re easy to level up) the game is on easy mode.

I haven't played Path of Radiance before, but Xavier from Thracia 776 is considered to be the hardest character to recruit in all of Fire Emblem. Edit: I just managed to get a save file for FE9.

I remember Green Goblin was hard to unlock in the first Spider-Man movie game.

Galf from "Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen" is harder to unlock than at least some of these.

Yeah, but Cloud wasn't really worth it unless you were ready to put a huge amount of effort into leveling him. Which at that point, your halfway to max and cloud is lvl1!

Not necessarily a character, but to get the Bahamut GF in FF8, you had to first get to the underwater research lab optional area, then when you get inside, bahamut is inside of a tank of some kind, as you progress, there is a light that goes all around the room, if you are caught in the light, Bahamut will ask you a question, if you answer correctly or incorrectly, you have to fight what I think is the hardest non-boss in the game, which is a Ruby Dragon, these things can easily wipe out your party with their bs counterattack called, "breath" you have to fight atleast 5 of these things to get to Bahamut, then fight him aswell, he is no slouch either. If you want to, you can continue further into the underground research facility, and fight Ultimate Weapon, not an easy monster either, he has some strong attack called "light pillar" it is auto 9999 damage, and he can do it pretty fast without giving you all that much time to heal, but if you fight him, you can draw some REALLY good stuff like another optional character or GF called, "Eden" which is the strongest GF in the game, you dont need to fight Ultimate Weapon to get Eden, as you can draw him from the "mini bosses" in Ultimecia's castle, but if you do that, it will be pointless being that there isnt really anything left in the game to use Eden on that would be worth it. I would have mentioned the Tonberry King in FF8, he is pretty difficult too, you have to fight a gazillion Tonberry's to finally get the Tonberry King to pop up in a fight, which is immediately after you kill the last Tonberry you need, he isn't a weak monster at all, and the other regular Tonberry's arent pushovers either. And going by summons, getting Zodiark in FF12 is an abondon all hope situation, you have to navigate a very very very dangerous area with strong monsters, then finally get to Zodiark which is a beast mode monster, his mega magic attack is literally the end, I gave up trying to get him.

Unlocking The Joker in Fighters Destiny 64 was a nightmare for me. Where you need to defeat 100 guys in a sudden death (Survival mode) mode.

Donatello from "Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway" is kinda hard to unlock, since you have to win against the ghost racers in all 36 playable courses in Time Trials mode, and they're not all easy to complete on the first go, particularly on the courses with multiple paths.

I miss when game developers left easter eggs and super cool unlocks hidden in games instead of everything being DLC and pay to win these days.

I would like to throw lu bu in this list dynasty warriors 6 was crazy you had to play as Cao Cao Liu bei and sun Jian to unlock his story

While it's not a character but a weapon, I could never unlock Lulu's ultimate weapon in FFX. I just couldn't dodge the necessary lightning strikes.

The lightning strikes one was one of the easier ones for me. Did it twice in high school when it first came out and again last year on remaster. Boring but very doable. It's that damn Chocobo race that made me want to break my controller. lol

missing things forever is part of why I don't play some games. Would love to see a video on Game Shark / Game Genie / and in -game cheats this is also why people easily fall for hoaxes.

There is a character in Fire Emblem that is even harder to unlock. Pelleas. You have to have beaten the game once and follow specific choices in the second playthrough. Of course Lehran is harder than Pelleas. You have to beat the game once, deploy the Black Knight in the final chapter of part one. Then you have to make Ike fight the Black Knight in Part 3 but neither of them can die. I think those two are harder than Stefan because, how would you know to even do these things? Also trying to get Ike to the Black Knight in Part 3 is hard enough. It's not even worth unlocking Lehran since you could only use him for one fight and that's the end of the game....

Unlocking Baiken in Guilty Gear 1. It requires finishing the game without using a "continue" when losing. Simple instruction but quite difficult especially when you have enemies that can do instant kills or a final boss that spam laser after laser that does quite a damage even when blocked.

The kicker with Cloud is that he is mediocre at best until you unlock his signature weapon: the Materia Blade. Luckily, he's a one man army once he got it in his hands.

I was looking for F-Zero GX comments. Impossible not to mention any of the AX unlockable characters in this video. They were all a tough challenge. I never managed to get Phoenix (the only one I missed) and it's still one big regret.

Phoenix and Dai San Gen are also contenders for the hardest characters to unlock in GX, but yeah, I have to agree with you.

I've played and completed Chrono Cross three times and I DIDN'T KNOW Skelly even EXISTED until TODAY!!

There were a few hard to unlock charcters in Shining Force 3 for the Saturn. I think there was even a secret key or sonething found in part one that you needed in part 2 or 3 to unlock someone, but 2 and 3 were never released in the US.

How do you make a list like this without mentioning a SINGLE SUIKODEN GAME?? 108 recruitable characters in EVERY entry to the series!

I honestly would have put Dr Boskonovitch from Tekken 3. You had to beat that tough as nails side scrolling beat em up twice to unlock him.

Got another. Bozzie Baranta in Star Wars Episode 1 Racer. His course, The Abyss, was punishingly difficult for teen and adult players. So you can imagine how me as a child would fare….

Technically.. Tainted forgotten is harder than forgotten... Because you need to unlock forgotten + doing the extra steps. (Which are not harder steps if you already have forgotten. but is more on top of the thing)

Hmmm, I wouldn't consider Skelly hard to unlock, just time-consuming. I think Janice is actually harder since you have to use Sprigg and the Forget-Me-Not Pot and fight the tough enemies in the game, then control them in the battle atena and win against her.

well if you count without a possible skip feature: Octoling (splatoon 2). you have to make it through a brutal DLC for that.

Nyx from Radiata Stories. To recruit him you have to recruit 74 out of 176 party members, some of which are easily missed, and then defeat him 1v1.

My pick would have been Omega in Mega Man ZX, it was hard finding and beating him, especially since he can only be unlocked on Normal or higher difficulty.

Some secrets used to be sold (I guess) to the magazines by the devs. But you could find about Cloud in FFT if you keep backtracking and revisiting towns. It was not THAT obscure. It was a reward for the players who loved the game and refused to stop playing after finishing it.

Top 10 Hardest Video Game DLC

The only one I can think you've missed is Moisture Creature in Yu-Gi-Oh: False Bound Kingdom. I had to use Game FAQ to find this guy. In the 7th mission of Kiba's campaign, you need to move Kiba to the mountain area, except Moisture Creature actually moves around unlike other monsters you can encounter in that game. And to make things worse, you have a time limit on each mission. But Moisture Creature can become visible if you take this base in the north east side and spending gold on a cannon and watch tower to double the cannon's range. Then you send Kiba to where you see Moisture Creature and send him away from the battlefield to encounter Moisture Creature before the time limit is up and before the boss of the mission is beaten.

Great Sayenman in Dragon Ball Z Budokai and Palm Tree in Fighters Megamix.

Alex & Roger Tekken 2 - You have to go 3 Rounds & Win the 3rd round on a sliver of energy.

the forgotten took me 2 weeks of trying to finally unlock. i would reset each time if i didnt get host hat or pyromaniac in the 1st floor treasure room. it made it much easier as mom's foot can't hurt you as her crush counts as an explosive attack, and host hat / pyro make you immune to them. the only other character that gave me true nightmares to unlock was tainted lost. mostly due to me not playing greed mode enough to unlock holy mantel.

I would put Mewtwo in Super Smash Bros Melee on the list. You have to play the game for 20 hours straight!

You got stuff wrong about the Forgotten in Binding of Isaac. Forgotten isn't in Rebirth, like at all, cuz Rebirth is just base game called that because it's the Rebirth of it since its FLASH days. Forgotten wasn't up in until the Afterbirth+ DLC! Which that's not even the 1st DLC added to Rebirth it's the 2nd!! You need both Rebirth(base game) and Afterbirth(1st DLC) installed to get Afterbirth+ where you can even unlock the Forgotten. Please do you research!! Don't mislead what version of the game characters are in!!!

Tactics Ogre (PSP). Azelstan, Deneb, and Ravness are even more difficult to recruit than Cloud or Skelly. All of them require specific timing, dialogue, sometimes items or other recruitment beforehand, etc. Deneb's recruitment can be even more difficult if you want her in that exclusive and most powerful form.

How about top ten coolest masks ever made?

I dont know if this counts but unlocking the fierce deities mask in mm64 is def very difficult or at least very time consuming

Chairman Prescott in gears of war 3 I never saw anybody using that skin cuz the challenge was sooo demanding

Actually, even Purple ! Crate wasn't really too hard after researching the Beenox Crate locations before entering ghostless time trial mode and using Iron Checkpoint Crate to beat Easy Adventure Mode. If anything, it's just a little time-consuming, unless you were talking about all the time you spent since you first purchased the game at launch, in which case, it may harder to unlock to even Nordom.

Urban reign,one of the greatest Fighting games I played on a PlayStation 2, this Fighting game is similar to some other games like Street fighter and Soulcalibur along with two guest characters that can be unlocked in Misson mode which are Paul and Law🥊🥊.

How are the F-Zero GX pilots not on here? I played the hell out of this game and only got up to unlocking Digi-Boy I think.

I let Mustadio turn into a crystal because I thought he was un-important. Then I saw you can unlock Cloud in a gaming magazine I went to try to do the quest but was sadly met with no chance to unlock him.

It took me forever to unlock The Forgotten... until I realized it could be done in Normal Mode. Beat it first try after that.

We did unlock that character in Urban reign, I took a while between 3 guys taking turns playing each mission.

Donkey Kong Country was actually a blast for being the first animated show to use motion capture technology. Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures was decently good, with action sequences. Captain N: The Game Master was also a gem, along with Tak and The Power of Juju and Sonic Underground. It was also kinda shallow to say that The Super Mario Bros. A racer in the N64 game Diddy Kong Racing, T.T., could only be unlocked by setting the time trial record on every track.

Alia, Layer and Pallet in Megaman X 8. In order to unlock them you have to beat the true final boss with either X, Zero or Axl as in land the final hit. Do it with X you get Alia Zero you get Layer And Axl you'll get Pallet. But they are very expensive to unlock costing 40k metal each. So you better get the discount item to drop the price a bit.

Minato in Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja 5 must be on this list. You need to clear main story, defeat all mokujins, complete some sidequests to unlock sasuke sidestory, clear it, then defeat sasuke's mokujins, and, finally, defeat last mokujin to unlock Minato.

Very Niche Game, but getting Aioros in Saint Seiya The Hades for PS2 was a truly nightmare, you have to beat 30 saints in survival mode, taking in count if they get you with the final move is an insta lose
