They were gifts from the Guitarist equivalent of Mount Olympus itself, graced upon our mortal ears by gods of song and bards

    Shows how much of a legend Mark Knopfler is. Although you are obviously very skilled and made all the other solos sound good, the replica of sultans of swing didn’t even come close. Mark just has a way of making every guitar he touches sing

    Between Bohemian Rhapsody, Hotel California, Sultans of Swing, and Comfortably Numb; The 70’s was the decade of legendary solos. Side note: No one can claim they can do a note for note cover of any of these solos unless they do them just as good as this guy.

    After listening to all these solos, it's hard to tell which one is the best. But then he includes Comfortably Numb and there's no longer a competition. So incredible.

    How much I wanted eruption on 1978 I think sultan of swing is one of the hardest songs to play on a guitar so I understand why you put the solo there, it's a good one for sure.

    Nikhil Barretto i thought so too, but it’s actually easier. mostly for the fact you can use a light pick and still be louder than fingers. those fingerpicked knopfler songs sure are awesome tho!

    saw them even before 'don't fear the reaper' was a hit. they opened for some band whose name I currently forget. that's how you tell a great opening act. they were stealing the show, while we waited for the headliner.w/ no apologies .I was about 15.

    They played the studio version of the solo which is a little over 4 minutes, the live version is around 7 minutes... and has 2 more buildups with the bolero ending.

    Comfortably Numb and some of the other Pink Floyd solos are insanely good. You can sing every note because of how memorable and well played they are. Same with Hotel California
