I remember in Vanilla when we fought Bloodlord Mandokir a hunter would get the boss' pet raptor to evade while the rest of the raid would concentrate on him, then kill the raptor afterward.

Sunstrider still has an unkillable bug to this day. I'm not sure what causes it, but sometimes he suddenly becomes untargetable and follows one player around the room extremely close, clipping through everything, until you leave. I've had this happen quite a few times, and am surprised it wasn't listed!

Heroic Valiona and Theralion had no way to come back from the twilight realm aside from immunities and Valiona's breath attack would often hit the entire room. Kil'jaeden had a bug where you could immunity sinister reflections which was one of the most difficult parts of the fight Atrademes gong strat wasn't fixed until they nerfed the boss. Door strat was fixed very quickly though. Bile-o-tron frequently didn't work on Chimaeron causing instant wipes. Chimaeron also had a 7% HP window where he'd push P2 and would often massacre immediately before. Massacre had no set timer. Halfus adds applied the damage debuff to him when they were activated rather than killed. Atonement also ignored his mortal strike debuff allowing him to be solo tanked. Gara'jal could be tanked in the entrance way completely avoiding all mechanics of the fight Ragnaros' lava pulse would hit the entire room H Ascendant Council could have abilities line up in P1 so the debuffs were unremovable. Frost Orbs and flame patches could also persist into P3. H LK had a bug where vile spirits would follow the raid down into the Frostmourne room Ignis would melee people put into the slag pot

Thogar still has a bug that won't let players onto the tracks to actually fight him sometimes. After killing trash he just goes on shouting his endless loop of the approaching trains.

Glitchiest quests in wow history

I had a Kael'thas bug fairly recently where, after he'd break the room and get his power, he'd Levitate, still untargetable, and just follow people with his lightning effect. We had to Hearthstone out to fix it.

The spinning with the trains was a strategy my raid team told everyone to do. Never thought it was a bug, but it makes sense in hindsight. XD

I remember doing Gruul progression with my first raiding guild in TBC. We were at the point where we could kill him week to week, but I wouldn't really consider him to be on farm, because it still took us a while to get through. One attempt we had him down to 6% and he did his thing where he bounces us around, and then random-targeted someone who was on a small rock. That caused him to evade bug up to 60% health. Oh, fun times...

Interestingly, the bug from Shade of Aran made it to a feature in the recent incarnation of the Flame Wreath cast on Shade of Medivh :D

Warmaster Blackhorn. Oh man, the LoL's I had as a priest Lifegripping people to the edge and getting them to fall off was just... so good. You should do a countdown of THOSE fights. Raid encounters where teammates would just kill you for the lulz. Most bosses have mechanics like that, but some are just so satisfying. Spears in Beastlord Darmac comes to mind. So much fun. So much anger.

that lady vashj poison bug was hilarious, never heard of it before

The Kaelthas bug wasnt that the adds built agro while dead, but rather that KaelThas built agro on the healers during phase 1, 2 and 3. You also skipped a rather important bug in Lady Vashj (showcased in the linked Method video) which made Taurens able to tank the striders because of their slightly larger auto attack range. Striders had an AOE fear so all Alliance guilds had to use a ranged character to tank-kite them.

I have definitely gotten the fire bug during the Blackthorne fight since Cataclysm. I've had it happen before but, I did heroic Dragon Soul on my demon hunter a couple weeks ago and it definitely hit me again. The entire deck was on fire and I never saw a single gnome. Strange. Didn't kill me. It was very little damage and I killed Warmaster Blackthorne pretty quick. Certainly brought back some memories, though :)

on the topic of elegon and that pillar bug. it only happens if you kill a pillar before he says his last line and the floor despawns

You missed Prince Malchezaar in karazhan. You could stand in the door way that you enter and ignore all the infernos. They fixed it later making the doors close after it was the main way raids would kill him.

what kind of mods do you use where you can see the distancebetween you and the mob?

I remember the first night of ulduar auraiya was bugged so that her cats were completely invisible the entire fight, we actually got the server first for that part of the raid because we figured out the bugged cats didnt follow her if you pulled her into the hallway that goes down to general vessex, and they would keep on pathing even after you killed her. They hot fixed the fight like the next day. It was still cool to have the most progression the first night the raid was live.

FYI, as of Jan 2016 the Blackhorn fire bug is still there. I've had the deck COVERED in fire with the ship at 80%

You missed one good one, Heigan the Unclean the safety dance, which you didn't have to do you had everyone stack in the back left hand corner and dps him down...

Fire glitch on blackhorn really pissed me off when we were trying to get back through to spine each week or whatever. oddly we killed that boss with literally half a night on it, but it remained a pain for weeks afterwards

Elegon was nice :) I never saw one his bugs but my game started lagging when I entered his platform so my mage couldn't use this buff... And with a class that use close combat i weren't be able to do this fight :D

I think the funniest bug was putting levitate on people in throne of the 4 winds in cata. Levitate would negate the effects of the wind launcher, so they'd just fall off.

Morogrim Tidewalker had 2 extremely annoying bugs that could/would easily wipe the raid. The first bug was that he would sometimes hit a warrior tank with crushing blows despite defense being capped and shieldblock being used (he was the only boss who did this and it could easily kill the tank due to other damage spikes). The second, much rarer, bug was that he sometimes would spawn endless masses of murlocs instead of the intended waves. This would always wipe the raid because literally hundreds of murlocs would swarm and kill everyone in seconds - it was kind of hilarious, though.

To this day, I still say that the Saronite bombs regrowing the outer platform during the LK fight made sense since the Citadel itself was made of Saronite, the blood of Yogg Saron so it would make sense that when a Saronite bomb hits the platform, the the heated parts of the bomb would melt into the citadel, which would also be heated.

How about taunting Kael'thas as he transitions into phase 2? phase 3? The part where he destroys the mirror. Our tank once taunted him during that transition and then... Kael followed him, while floating, and not transitioning... We had to wait 15 mins until he reset. It was the most painful 15 mins I had ever experienced... Mind you, I don't think it happens anymore, since you can one shot him.

I just got trapped inside the mind of Yogg Saron last night and had to sit there for 15mins while he slowly killed me...

I don't know if it is worth mentioning, but on November 27th, 2012, Blizzard launched patch 5.1.0, introducing Durumu the Forgotten in Throne of Thunder. Originally, during his Disintegration Beam phase, when his fog maze appears, the fog itself was generated using ONLY high res-particles. A decent PC could handle it, but many players on integrated video cards could not see the fog - at all! You had to navigate the maze ENTIRELY by following others and hoping you didn't step into the invisible fog. On December 10th of the same year, just a few days later, Blizzard released "Patch 5.1.0A", whose official patch notes only said "Bug fixes", with little to no detail. After that small patch, Durumu's fog maze was visible on low-end computers.

The keyboard turn glitch probably had to do with the dot product calculation throwing an exception that didn't get handled with the correct logic. You can solve the problem by calculating the intersect with continuous angular/linear collision it's possible to bound the earliest time of collision between two/one rotating shapes. Assuming they are convex of course.

The people who design games aren't always actually skilled at them. Considering it was a raid, not a dungeon (NEW/Legion Karazhan is a dungeon) I imagine getting a raid group of blizz employees was rough.

I do remember seeing the instant 360 spin in the video though. Anyways, are you sure that's not the way the encounter is supposed to go, instead of a bug?

Oh, I know. I was referring to the instant spinning. Anyways, it seems like in a way it's like the flame wreath bug, it just seemed like a normal part of the fight. No guide video I watched said you were supposed to outrun the water spot, just to go under the water, so I always assumed that insta-spin was supposed to happen

Cringe watching you not use pyroblast at all.

SLG, Painsmith, and Sylvanas all deserve to be on this list for the completely bugged Spell Batching that will immediately wipe the raid if you get unlucky. Also Sylvanas' unfixable lag and glitchy bridges.

Sinestra's bug was also Dark Simulacrum, not just spell reflect. "There were some absolutely massive bugs that were obvious from the first pull; Shadow Orbs sweeping the whole room and killing everyone in the raid. The Dark Simulacrum (and other reflects) & Wrack was probably the biggest one. You could literally hit the boss for 1 billion damage with a single GCD - it was pretty damn scary watching Sinestra almost die to it by accident. Blizzard however fixed this within an hour or two after receiving the report."

Hey... Kel in Nax is still bugged too... he jsut flat out despwans and resett the whole shit.. xD After 10 years!

You always saved Ouro for last because when he bugged out by diving underground and never surfacing, it kept your group in aggro with no way to drop it.

In cata Fireland second last boss Majordomo staghelm(Fandral Staghelm) had 1M hp

at end of cata a decently geared raiding tank (for all the tank classes) got over 1 mil hp, my own druid tank got that and she didn't go higher then normal dragon soul, then the stat squish happened in mop and viola now the cata raid bosses still have close to our cureent raiding lvl 100s health

Dude, you forgot a major glitch, in the first days of Ulduar, if Mimiron kills someone on the barrage, he bladestorm barrage and kill everyone

vanilla khel was harder than the bugg.. took over 2 months to even tackle him as he would glitch out all the time (but well its similar to place 2 i gues)

Dragon soul is still bugged, but nowadays it'll auto throw you off of deathwings back as soon as a plate is broken. rip transmog hunting.

10:03 I didn't experience that bug, I experienced the trash allowing me to pop her shield to not spawn, so my lvl 100 was slowly pinged to death.

Ouro was... bugged? :)

What about that stupid bug with Kael'thas, when he flies up to comsume that arcane torrents, and bsaically becomes unkillable, his hitzone disappears, he stays above the ground and is just sniping you with fireballs, nasty thing, especially back in Mists where not every ilvl 400 was able to farm Kael afk, you had to pop hearthstone and fly back there

elegon bug fixed since 2015 !

Tweaked Of Audacious @ kalecgos. Used pallies to BOP while holding the cores during phase 2. So, a core should have been obtainable once every 30 seconds during phase 2, and it was possible to MISS cores. Was passed cores, pally bop'd me during phase 2, and our phase 2 of our killed lasted 3 seconds. World 24th kill I believe? THE SECRET IS FINALLY REVEALED.

Only because they required 8 warrior tanks with the T3 set bonus to taunt. Once those requirements were met the Horsemen didn't take that long to go down.

flame wreath macros were life in bc. half my raid group had them and when it was time for flame wreath, we all spammed the shit out of them.
