@@debrathomas360 I wouldn't be surprised if it was wrong. Myself partially becuse I had a strict Catholic upbringing many people have thought I was gay because 'normal' men and women will eventually get into a sexual relationship if they are attracted to each other.

Some of the best actors jn Hollywood were gay and in the 50's and 60's most straight people had no idea. Now who cares, be yourself. "Gay" has existed since the dawn of humanity. If I was gay, I would just be gay, but I would not flaunt it. I believe privacy in America is all important. I fear we are losing our privacy way too fast.

I don't know that flaunting it is any different than heterosexual couples happily engaging in public displays of affection. But, the moment a "gay" or "lesbian" person does the same in public, it's flaunting their identity. It's NOT okay to allow one group the freedom to do an action and then condemning another group for exactly the same behavior -- equally, it is inappropriate to suggest it in a backhanded and passive manner. It's not "flaunting" their sexual identity to do the same thing anyone else can do with impunity and without question. I get that you're trying to sound supportive, but you've missed the mark very badly.

Rock Hudson was and still is my favourite actor. Him being gay makes no difference

He was a great actor.

It's good for us to have a distance from these actors. Too many people take movies way to seriously! Enjoy the film and leave them in theater. Movie and focus on the people you know and love.

Okay let’s clarify a detail here about Grant and Scott. I’m old enough to remember what was going on. (Read some of the studio internal memos.).. These boys caused the studio bosses no end of trouble. It was a known fact that their home was a revolving door for starlets prepared to go that little bit further, to further, their careers. This was the 30’s and the depression. Desperate times. Different ladies almost every night. Panicking, for the boys had got at least one starlet pregnant, the studio P.R. team started to float the rumour that the boys were gay. ( incidentally not a term used in the 30’s ).. Fun fact most of their fellow actors were doing cocaine, heroin and alcohol. Some turning up so stoned that production had to be halted. Yet it was the thought of pregnancies that was more important to the studios. Clean cut image was everything in the 30’s.. Anyone wanting to confirm Grants sexuality only has to ask Sophia Loren and a jealous Frank Sinatra. Their affair during the Pride and the Passion was so hot that Sinatra, who fancied himself the lover, got so jealous he upped his boots and left before the filming was completed. So the truth simply is these guys were buddies but not in the way implied in this post. Enjoy the day. You folks now know how successful 90+ years on that the campaign was and ‘heh’ still is. 👵🇦🇺🇺🇸

Ok so clean cut images were everything in the 30s you mention .So with that in mind your belief is the studio would rather spread rumours that they were gay (which would cost them big time at the box office ) instead of getting a women pregnant would do less harm .Sorry I can't buy that and their body language towards each other is another indication .In saying that we will never really know but that's my very humble opinion

@@somekindaguy100 Yes the studios were 100% petrified of starlets getting pregnant. There are some many major stars who did and either had abortions or ‘appeared’ to adopt . Being ‘gay’ wasn’t a studio issue in the 30’s. I’m not doubting any of the others on the list. Honestly a persons sexuality doesn’t concern me but I don’t like the way todays Internet twists the truth. These were two studs living together and preying on the young starlets. Not two gays or bi’s. Today , I’m fairly sure, a lot of young women would come forward , under similar circumstances, and these ‘gentlemen’ would end up behind bars… They were the extreme of the ‘casting couch’.. To the end they remained best friends and kept their secrets. Both were a product of their age and the studio system. It’s gone now and we should let both sleep in peace.

Most of these I knew about. I admit, when I found out about Raymond Burr, I was surprised. I'd no idea. But as long as they were happy, who cares?

Clark Gable is a little hard to believe. I'm sure there were many men, as well as women, who were physically attracted to Gable, but I somehow doubt that he was bisexual. In that business, being sexually attractive was of paramount importance, but I'm sure there were many handsome actors who were exclusively heterosexual. One same sex encounter did not a homosexual make.

Narrator was done with AI. It became super obvious with the consistent tone and inexplicable mispronunciation of various words (the one that stuck out super easily was "lamenting", where the AI pronounced it similar to the word "laminating" which is not how you pronounce the word).
