That hits me deep cause it's true. I don't want my friends to feel worthless like I have so I do what I can to cheer them up. It's an awful feeling that I want not even my greatest enemy to feel. Believe me I was swallowed by darkness and thoughts of suicide but I overcame it on my own. I try to be the friend I never had growing up. Stephen King said it best "Alone. Yes, that's the key word, the most awful word in the English tongue. Murder doesn't hold a candle to it and hell is only a poor synonym".

I agree. I am that way myself. I am also a door mat. I let people walk all over me in hope that they will like me for all the things I do for them and others. Sadly I still end up at the end of the day friendless and loveless. Its me, a bowl of soup, and a bag of chips. I stand near a restaurant and watch all of the happy-go-lucky people entering the restaurant wondering what's it like to be with friends Mayne tomorrow someone will be thankful for something I did for them. Or maybe tomorrow I will die and pray that some one says, I knew that man. He was fun to be with.

I had the honor of meeting Mr. Williams while working on the gate at his house. He was the nicest, most genuine person you could ask for. He came out with lemonade for us and made sure we were comfortable while working. He was extremely polite and genuinely friendly to us. The exact opposite of most famous people. A friend. A father. A mentor. A comedian. An actor. A brother. A son. A guardian angel. A human being. It pains me to know that whilst he was struggling internally with his mental state, he still managed to bring a smile in people’s faces even if he wasn’t taking care of himself. People didn’t know he was struggling until he killed himself. His brilliant mind was his best friend but also his worst enemy. We need to look after one another.

Once he was done and the laughter and applause died down, Robin said something along the lines of, “That’s the only answer I can give you.”

I still remember a lot of lines from it, including bits about famous actors when they were little kids, like Sammy Davis, Jr. Jr. and a whole lot more great comedy routines. It just makes you realize that no matter how happy people look on the outside nobody will know what you are dealing with in the inside. And to the people dealing with bad things i will say. I am to. I want you all to be happy because your alive. Be happy cause your unique. There can only be one you. Just love yourself and break down any negative energy and turn it into happiness. I love you all. Peace love and hapiness. Spread it

"Just love yourself and break down any negative energy and turn it into happiness. I love you all. Peace love and hapiness. Spread it" Though you mean very well, you are pretty naive about people with chronic depression. They ask themselves a thousand times over "What's wrong with me, why can't I be happy?" For years they will try changes in diet, or exercise, mental health counselling, or different regiments of prescribed medications, while this can help many, it doesn't work for all. Many finally get to the point that they have resigned themselves that's it's permanent, they put on their smiles and laughs for those around them, but inside they have no hope, the see no happy future. They can have everything, loving family, successful careers, be the best at what they do and be well off financially, but they still feel dead inside. Most "long termers" have already planned their suicides out years before, ironically, that gives them some comfort, knowing they can quickly check out if things get bad enough. They have very low self esteem that they keep to themselves, they truly believe that those around like spouses and children, would be better off without them.

@@DaleSandusky Suicide's a heavy thing, and nothing to laugh at. Depression lurks within everybody - some more often rearing its head than others. Everybody's got a breaking point where something just snaps. Williams had a fuck ton of crap landing on him all at once before he died - parkinson's disease being one of them, and maybe that added to the cherry on top of his shit sundae and served as his breaking point. I have a friend who everybody thought had ZERO issues with depression - until her kid died when some drunk fucktard ran her over by driving their car through a hedge separating their backyard. She just went off the rails a few months later after the funeral and had to be put on suicide watch for a while because she damn well nearly succeeded. Bottom line; you can't really tell what's going through somebody's mind to make them want to take that "final" step.

He made so many people laugh and changed the face of comedy forever. When I see videos like this, it makes me sad that he felt he needed to take his own life while at the same time bringing back wonderful memories of laughing so hard it hurt. Human don't have tails, they have big bottoms, they walk around in bad shorts going 'hi, Helen.'" "Next come your shopping malls, and your convenience stores," Zach smacks the antennae, "price check on prune juice, Bob. Price check on prune juice." Back? Are you crazy that's lemming talk." (Zack: Wrong channel!) "Alright, gunny, we're goin' to war." and my absolute favorite; "I'm alright. No worries, another perfect landing. No one cares about me." (I do, bat-man) "Are you sure?"
