You are the best coach I have seen on the Internet. I have not seen anyone else bringing the unparalleled wisdom of Chinese table tennis to the audience in English. There is just no comparison of the level of China w.r.t table tennis. I do not think people realize how valuable this channel is. This is one of your best videos too

I find all your videos really helpful and they already improved my TT-skills. Most remarkable is Number 10 of basic skills: I personally also experienced that backhand serves can be done safer with a precise placement, although relatively predictable, spin wise. Seeing Ma Long doing that so consequently, at least in that match, also proves that pretty well.

@22:13 I noticed that ‘Xu Xin’ returns with a lot of topspin by using his legs to generate a 1/4 squat thrust up into his topspin (with the waist and racket slightly below the edge of the table for added control). He also shows that opponent’s return to his side, that there is a downward arc on the ball before bouncing on his side, so after it bounces, the path of the ball arcs up like a wave and that’s when you see him playing low to the table. He generates a lot of power and spin!

Another excellent video, thankyou very much. You have helped develop my table tennis after 12 years not playing. I play with my old bat which is jo waldner rubber both sides on a waldner diablo blade anatomic handle. The quality of my shots have improved but i lack in consistency. I have recently bought joola rhyzm p for my back hand red but am still undecided what do get for my forehand. I am also considering changing my blade to something with flared handle, i want something with good feeling and was thinking to get a tibar stratus power wood, do you think that would work well? I play attacking style forehand dominant and used to compete at national level as a junior so am really enjoying playing again at 30. Thanks again.

I didn't realize I've been naturally doing the "strawberry flick" to receive short backspin/sidespin serves. I thought I was doing something wrong since I was doing it on instinct (I'm new so I figured everything I did naturally was "wrong") without realizing it's something that's actually taught now lol. I struggle a lot with pushes that I was told to do against serves, but I'm going to focus more on my stronger flicks instead against serves, including the standard banana flick.
