Top 10 Fastest Women's 400 Meter Sprinters In The World

Спорт

Lets explore who is on the top 10 All-Time list of the women's 400 meter sprinters.
The 400 meter race stands out as a challenging athletic event that tests an athlete's ability to balance speed and endurance effectively. This race uniquely stresses the body by requiring a near-maximal sprint for a longer duration, predominantly tapping into the anaerobic glycolytic system, which leads to significant lactic acid build-up and muscle fatigue. Athletes must execute a nuanced strategy, starting strong, maintaining a controlled pace on the back straight, managing energy through the curve, and enduring the grueling final stretch. This strategic complexity, combined with the intense physical demands, necessitates targeted training that hones both speed and stamina, as well as mental toughness to handle the anticipated physical strain and tactical execution of the race.

There’s 6 on that list there are far better athletes now compared to back then because of all the doping scandals, we need to celebrate the achievements of athletes that haven’t cheated & are incredible & inspirational relevant to today not back when it was everywhere in the 80’s Enough said

I love the 400 meters, it's my favorite event. Thanks for this recap, but does faster mean better? Kocembova - one year (1983) in the elite, then she completely disappeared from the radar. Kratochvilova did not achieve great success until the age of 32, where she took off like a rocket. Marita Koch - come on, she gave up running since doping controls were intensified. Salwa Naser has inexplicably disappeared from stadiums since 2019 (how old was she then - 21, 22?). For me, the Top 3 for overall achievement is clear: 1. Sanya Richards - Ross (a wonderful career since 2004) 2. Marie Josee Perec (two Olympic golds, an unforgettable run in Atlanta) 3. Irena Szewińska (1974-1977) - Olympic gold and her she broke the world record from 51 to 49.28

There are some drugged up dudes on this dodgy list. Paulino should feature as top 10, but unfortunately she is being overshadowed by drug cheats. Naser hasn't really featured since that questionable race with the missing drug test 🤔.

The fact that Kratochvilova was allowed to compete and accepted as a woman says it all. There's nothing different between her and Semenya other than skin colour. Yet Semenya was purged.

At 400 m, all-time she is # 25. Only at 200 m she is in the top 10, more specifically at # 8. As a sprinter, Alyson Felix is overrated. US media simply overhyped her.

Hey do you not research the athletes you put on your channel? Because so many who you describe as incredible athletes like say the soviet team most of them had to give back their medals because of doping. If you idealise these people it doesn’t help kids who love it too, sorry man I love athletics & used to be an athlete you really shouldn’t put them on a pedestal when they cheated their way round the world

  • @MaLanick87

Not one of these 10 women had to give back any medals or was tested positive. Only Naser was banned due to missed doping tests. The creator of this video has mentioned all of the doping allegations etc. and what "soviet team"? There was only one soviet runner on this list... Have you even watched the full video? I am not saying they weren't doped. They were but let's not be naive here: There is not a single woman who ran under 49sec that was not doped! And probably not a lot of women who ran sub 50 who were not doped... Track & Field is one of the dirtiest sports of all times! And it still is today like it was in the 70s and 80s. Today the athletes have just to be more creative to hide the doping. And out of a bunch of very talented but doped 400m runners these women were still the best and the fastest of their sport whether we like it or not... Also the athletes from East Europe were forced, blackmailed and pressured into being doped, many did not even know what they were getting by the doctors and were probably too scared to ask. But what are the excuses of all the doped athletes from nations that were not totalitarian regimes but were still doped and being put on pedestals?

  • @pedropelaez

This list is straight out of the official website of international track and field (world athletics). If they are on that website, then these are recognized times. Some (the Eastern European runners) probably doped but were never caught.

@@gladstone3478Allyson Felix was/is one of the greatest 400m runners but her talent at the distance was never fully realized. She ran 49.26 in 2015, making her the 17th fastest of all-time when she ran it (now 24th). During her prime, her focus was primarily the 200m but her relay splits made it evident that she had immense potential in the 400m. She ran multiple sub-49 splits and her run at 2015 WC (47.72) makes her the third fastest female of all time in that regard-personally, I think those other times are suspicious af.

This is a complete BS list. Femke Bol broke Kratochvilova's indoor World Record by a whopping 0.42 seconds. This should at least be mentioned(!). Furthermore Kratochvilova is also the previous holder on the 400 dash outdoor, and the only other woman beside Koch who ran the 400 below 48 seconds with a 47.99. And if Bol is able to improve on Kratochvilova's indoor WR she should also be able to do this outdoor (people don't suddenly change when they step inside or outside of a hall). And 47.99 -0.42 = ...

  • @ImagineJoyy

Britton Wilson also broke that indoor record while still in college. Just FYI: Koch has the outdoor WR (47.60) and Bol is no way near that *yet* as her current outdoor pb is 49.44. Also, indoor times do not always perfectly translate to outdoor times but yes, she (like Britton Wilson who also does hurdles) has great potential.

@@ImagineJoyy Reality check nr. 1: Britton Wilsons PB indoor is still HALF A SECOND SLOWER than Bol's WR. Reality check nr. 2: I have compiled a combined list with the result scores from World Athletics on the 400 flat after the year 2000 (I left Salwa Eid Naser out because of her doping): 1-2eq. Femke Bol: 1272 Points (49.17, World Record, INDOOR) 1-2eq. Shaunae Miller-UIBO: 1272 Points (48.36, OUTDOOR) 3. Britton Wilson: 1260 Points (49.48, INDOOR) 4. @@ImagineJoyy Nope, just wanted to change your typical American perspective. By the way I did not see the "yet" in your text. Fact is that Femke Bol delivered a great performance by being one of the first to break one of the "unbreakable" Eastern European WR's. Something that is systematically underestimated by American commentors.
