Tebogo's headspace was clearly far from this race, I'm sure he contemplated pulling out of this meet. He lost his MOM today. (He's just 20, and now he's got his 12-yr-old sibling to take care of.) My sincerest condolences to the family. Not taking anything away from Kyree King's effort, but this was literally a bad day for Tebogo.

Not actually his been running lots of longer distances so his legs has to adjust to the speed of the 100m because they not used to what he has been doing and on top of that they have to peak at the right time unlike the others in the feild Tebogo is a gold medal threat

Rip to the granddad for Kyree King. His Spirit Soul DNA energy live through you and your family. 🙏🏾💯🆙️
Good work on the win Kyree King. 🙏🏾💯🆙️
I remember when a top runner at UCLA ran 44.5 for 440 yards 1971 and that’s equivalent to 44.2, 400 meters. That’s almost 50 years ago, yet we are thrilled when runners run the same times today? I don’t think any runner will break the Olympic / World record in the 400 meters for about the same number of years. Even Wade van Niekerk who ran 43.03 hasn’t come close since then. Yes I am aware he injured his knee and hasn’t been the same since BUT plenty of 400 meter runners have had a chance to break it but still have not. Cross our fingers 2024 Olympics.
Condolences Kyree! Much love to you and your family! Keep fighting bro! Gpa is proud of you! 🙏🏾
Wow thanks
Azemati 🇬🇭 keep it up
That lean created the margin but Tobogo looked like 90% effort was used to get back into the race

You just said people need to know Tebogo's name and then go on to mispronounce it. Ask Justin Gatlin to teach how to pronounce it. He has made an effort to learn out of respect for the athlete.
For whatever reason, Tebogo barely put any effort into this run. He didn’t get out of 2nd gear!

Exactly! Real BS
I have said this before about Tebogo: He will pay a price for in the same season repeatedly try to sprint world class times over 100-400 meters, instead of either running 100-200 m; or 400 m - either he will get injured, or be fading (due to fatigue), or both!
@wilburhoffman5510
Ай бұрын
Not true. 400m training strengthens your 200m. Keep in mind all true 100m guys use 400m training as their base training during the off season. You taper off mid-season.
They should have had the high school kids here instead
Two observations: Don’t kick a guy out on first false start. Men should wear slightly looser shorts (probably black is best!).
@user-rd5bt3bw5o
Ай бұрын
I don't understand what's triggering you here. Why men and not women, who dress scantily in t&f? And the lycra/spandex shorts are all about aerodynamics, right? They would be slower in looser shorts.
Stop making excuses for Tebogo. He lost, give King his flowers. “hE diDn’T tAkE iT sEriOuSLy” so why did he race then?

I'm gonna be honest here..... I'm not sure Tebogo has the MENTAL strength needed to be as good as everybody says he is gonna be, including myself, when it's all said and done? It's like he's missing a certain "Element" mentally at times and at first I thought it was simply a young phenom needing to learn.... but it don't seem to be changing much? It's like he's missing that Killer Instinct that ALL great champion sprinters possess? Idk?? Maybe I'm wrong here...🤔 Guess only time will tell, and Paris will definitely be a huge indicator of this theory.

Why do you feel that way? So far the dude has shown that he can perform when it counts. If you see his season last year you would know that he doesn't win a lot of them, but come the championship final he runs his best race and beats almost all of them

Relax Kyrie king will not make the Olympics 100m team while Tebogo is already guaranteed a ticket to France.😊
I can’t stand ATO … Go commentate for Trinidad.. pour into your country…develop those athletes. Tobogo lost and he’s still talking about him. King won and he couldn’t take the opportunity shed light on the great season he’s having. Ato is what’s wrong with Track and field he’s so star struck and that’s why he calls most races wrong.

That garbage false start rule and the people that implemented it need to be dump, Save some time at all meet by adjusting that false start sensor, to to trigger off only when someone both hand leave the track, which is very minimal as we all can see, As to, a little twinkle of the hands are feat which, do not give anyone advantages to that person over the rest, But it happen in almost every Races, Garbage, Garbage, Garbage, Lame, Lame, Lame, Those so call official are getting pay weather an Athlete false started or not, While an Athlete train for a year, Sometime two years and a simple little twinkle of the hand or feat take away all that heard works and dedications, along with financial expectations to take care of their expense, How can that be fair, Those officials only get pay because of dedicated Athlete towards the sport, But the Athlete some time gets no pay because of those same official stupid, make no sense, false start rules
