This was the video that made me play Undertale :) I watched it 1 day after it was released on December 12th 2015. It was a snowy Saturday, my dad was working and I had to go to my math lessons. I watched the video in bed in the morning and got really intrigued by the game. After my lesson in the afternoon, I went back home. My parents told me they were going out with friends for the night and ordered me pizza. I had the night for myself. I downloaded Undertale, got the pizza and some coke and got to play it all night. I played it completely blind, only ever seen the game from this video. It blew my mind. By that time I had only played shooter games and some basic RPGs like Skyrim. This was unlike anything I've ever seen. This was 6 years ago. I was 13 struggling thru middle school, now I am 19 and in University. My whole life has changed so much since then, everything became just a bit harder and lonelier, but that night will forever be engraved in my mind. To this day I still love this game more than any other. I don't know why I'm writing this, I guess I just wanted to thank Lemmino for introducing me to this game, that became such a big part of my life.

Actually, buttercups have something to do with the game. Back during the first child (aka Chara) fell into the underground, they were adopted by the royal family of Asgore, Toriel, and Asriel Dreemur. Chara and Asriel once made a dish for Asgore which needed two cups of butter. The two decided to play a joke on Asgore and used buttercups instead. Asgore was poisoned by the flowers but managed to survive thanks to his large size. Chara, after seeing what the flowers did to Asgore, made a plan. Chara was in no way nice to Asriel, making him fear Chara so that he would do what they wanted. Chara ate some buttercups and died from the poisoning and had Asriel absorb their soul. Chara tried to assume control over Asriel once out of the Underground but failed. Asriel was then seen by the humans and attacked. He retreated back to the Underground where he perished over a patch of yellow flowers, his dust covering them. After Asgore's declaration of war on humanity Toriel fled the capital with Chara's body to the Ruins where she buried the body, which just so happened to be a patch of yellow flowers underneath an opening leading to the outside. It wouldn't be long after when Alphys would inject some Determination into a patch of yellow flowers, where one would gain sentience but not have a Soul and disappear. I don't know what Toby has been through but they really don't like flowers.

Actually I don't think that's quite right. Alphys mentioned that the flower he found for experimentation was in Asgore's garden, which is where Asriel died. Chara's body was just that: a body. Their soul was with Asriel, and even though Asriel was the technically the dominant ego, Chara's soul acted as a corrupting influence and when Flowey was created, the stronger, human soul of Chara overwhelmed him with hatred.

The reason you never encountered the “mystery man” in the 4 runs you did, it’s because the chances of getting the hallway alone are extremely slim, there’s a thing called a “funs value” in which every time you play the game, it picks a random number 1-100, depending on what you get, various things could happen, like getting a sans phone call, or alphys ordering pizza by calling, as well as the mystery man, and the gaster followers, the goner kid as well, (even the sound test room, u get it) the reason why you thought you had to manually edit the game to get the mystery man, is because the chance of getting him is one in a hundred, thought you’d like to know.

Sure, it wasn't as great as the last couple Fallouts story-wise, but it still has some great gameplay. Donovan Fitzpatrick he probably did have more in mind to do with a character like gaster, but I think he settled to leave breadcrumbs of him behind and to leave enough room for the player to fill in gaps between the trail he left to piece together a story behind the scenes, although there is no one single answer to who exactly gaster was, or what effect he has on the overall story rather, there’s enough stuff left behind to make a great combination of easter eggs for speculation

Luigi2600 Put fnas aside, I don't really like those videos but at this point he is obligated to do them. Most of his videos are pretty interesting, since undertale got this big and it's story takes several playtroughs to get it will be interesting to see what he has to say.

+NintendoGuy64 I think people hate undertale because the fanbase wont shut up about it. They seem to throw it in everyone elses faces, profile images, references, videos, stuff like that. I used to feel annoyed at it all until i myself actually played the game, and understand it. Honestly, hating a game for its fanbase is stupid. It's ok to be annoyed at the fanbase like i was, but no one should take it out on the actual game. That's what happened with minecraft and FNAF. Great games, and everyone didn't like it. Why? "the fans are dumb". Who cares? The joy of it is that when playing those games, it doesn't throw the fanbase into your face like xbox games do. Just play the game, no matter who else plays it, it doesn't matter as long as you're having fun. Anyways, sorry for the ramble, this is stuff that has been on my mind forever, and i finally got the chance to let it all out :)

There is a “fun value” which is a random number that the game chooses when you start, and it maps out the nick back secrets in the game

I remember when you uploaded this 5 years ago, didn't know what this game was so I didn't watch it. Just played undertale for the first time a few weeks ago and now I see why everyone likes it.

I think this was the first LEMMiNO video I ever watched, back when he was Top10Memes. Now he's one of my favorite channels! Also having a Top 10 about my favorite game ever when it released was pretty great :)

Toriel and Temmie also know it's just a game. Toriel references it in Hard Mode, Temmie references it when you ask her about her special armor.

You know what haunts me about that audio file? The voices used sound like machinations, androids, mannequins, or something of that caliber, but at the same time... I can feel a human presence as well, like it's a soul trapped inside a synthetic body. And once I think of that, I think of very unsettling things. The first thing I thought after hearing the audio was W.D. Gaster falling into the core, seeing his flesh burned bit by bit by the CORE's unrelenting heat and energy, and that wretched smile that "mysteryman" wears on his face becoming visible as he falls down and gets spread across the files.

This is why I'm scared to play the game...

*My Theory:* Gaster is probably related to Sans and Papyrus in some way (Y'know, fonts and skeletons) and Sans was directly involved with the accident that supposedly killed Gaster, and this accident sent Gaster to different time lines, explaining Sans' knowledge *about* time lines. *And* that machine in Sans' basement was the machine that sent Gaster through the time lines, Sans' is trying to get Gaster back. *Why Gaster was developing a machine to time-travel, why Papyrus was unaware all this and why Sans' and Papyrus came from no-where I still don't know, but I think it's plausable*

+gingergamergirl98 Its basically that people are so rabid about the game (a game which just seems weird on first glance) so that creates a certain repulsion. People want to show individuality by not going along with the main stream which worships this game as any sane person would and should.

At the point where you’re about to fight asgore, the save files no longer say you have determination and it’s kind of sad and depressing however the music while fighting asgore is legendary

+KefeVideos And that's a matter of opinion, and a fair reason for disliking it. Personally, throughout most of it, it's just a pleasant little experience and Earthbound homage. Then the final area, endings, and how it blends gameplay and storytelling is what makes it so incredible. But that's me. You gave it a shot, and dislike it for fair reasons, and that's perfectly fine.

I don't understand why there are haters for undertale, it's a genuine fun game. At this point I'm assuming people hate what is popular

This game suffers the same problem FNaF did. It wasn't because of the popularity, more so the fandom. People don't tend to like fandoms because of some cringy fanart. I mean, most "haters" like the game, just not the fanbase.

Oh yeah, about fact 4, I could be mistaken but if the person going through the events described in fact 4 happens to be streaming, the dog will actually appear in the chat. I believe this only works on Twitch however I could be extremely mistaken so take what I said with more than a single grain of salt.
