I'm hoping for Cyndi Lauper to get an EGOT. She has the Grammy, Tony and Emmy already, just needs an Oscar. Lin Manuel Miranda needs an Oscar as well to get his.

I feel Lin-Manuel Miranda got robbed of EGOT status twice. Nominated twice for the Oscars, but didn’t win neither. That would’ve assured him his status!

The 2nd time was his fault. He knew how popular Bruno was but wanted to seem like a "real" song writer and represent the Spanish language and submitted "Dos Oruguitas" I wouldn't be surprised if he really wasn't sick that day, he just didn't want to be embarrassed by his mistake being thrown up in his face.

When you are a 90s Disney kid, Alan Menken is a household name.

I'm so happy for Jennifer Hudson! Cynthia Erivo is really about to become the next one doing history as the youngest to get it & the fastest to do so.

Alan Menken is the soundtrack for over half of my life. The man is an absolute iconic legend. 🤩🤩

I just have to put it out that the Academy robbed Lin-Manuel Miranda of an Oscar. He could've easily been at the top half of this list. Sue me. Edit: Considering that this guy already has a MacArthur Grant and a Pulitzer prize, even a Kennedy Center honor. I mean, come on! This guy's a national treasure!

Alan Menken isn't an EGOT, he is a DREGOT. Disney Legend, Razzle, Emmy, Oscar, Tony,

Richard Rogers is an insane legend.

You can't argue with those top two! It seems EGOT needed Andrew Lloyd Webber more than the other way around. Lin-Manuel Miranda should be next!

All these people deserve these Awards, but I want to send a special shout out to Jennifer hudson, pretty damn good for someone who came in 7th on her season on American Idol, I think things worked out good for her LOL she's a powerhouse and an amazing talent. And Rita Moreno, she's just a legend and I just adore her

As a 90s baby, so happy I grew up with Alan Menken's music in the Disney Renaissance.

I think it’s funny Ben Platt won an Emmy, Tony, and a Grammy just with Evan Hansen. Had the movie been liked more and his performance worthy of an Oscar he could have been an EGOT off of one show! That would have been historical.

It's sad audrey Hepburn passed away before she became an egot winner 😢

It's difficult to pick top 10, however I do think you slighted "Lopez", who you mentioned won the EGOT status twice. Also, it doesn't seem equal when someone was part of a team in a category instead of a solo performance or skill.

Kristen Anderson-Lopez needs that EGOT next, her husband/writing partner has had one for nearly a decade and she’s a Tony away.

I feel like this did not need to be a top 10, but could have chronicled ALL the winners. But we do love a top 10.

I would have added my favorite, Barbra Streisand. She won a Grammy award for her first record album, which was called, appropriately, "The Barbra Streisand Album." (1963) I think she won a few other Grammys over the years. She won an Emmy for her first television special, "My Name Is Barbra." (1965) She won an Oscar for Best Actress for her first motion picture, "Funny Girl" (1968), which was based on her Broadway musical of the same title. But while she was nominated for a Tony for Best Actress In A Musical for the Broadway version of "Funny Girl" (1964), as well as one for Best Supporting Actress In A Musical for "I Can Get It For You Wholesale" (1962), she didn't win either one, but in 1969, she was awarded a special Tony for "Entertainer Of The Decade." Incidentally, "I Can Get For You Wholesale" featured Barbra's future first husband, Elliot Gould, the father of her only child, Jason Gould. Barbra and Elliot divorced in 1971. Yeah.... apparently she was one of many, many producers of A Strange Loop which just won Best Musical. And apparently she's a producer for some tv show called Baba Yaga, so she got an Emmy for that. Producer credits always feel rather dubious for me when it comes to an EGOT. All you have to do to be called a producer is pay a lot of money. You don't actually have to do anything. Now, I'm not saying she didn't have any actual involvement (some producers are very involved); I don't know what she did. I'm just saying in general....

It's more impressive when you actually perform (write, sing, act, etc.) to win these collection of awards. And, it's also more impressive when you get it for different works instead of double dipping and winning the multiple awards for the same thing.

Alan Menken wrote the soundtrack of my childhood, I can't believe it took so long for him to EGOT.

Those people not only made history but they deserve it

I'm not ashamed to say that I learned what an EGOT was by watching 30 Rock

Audra McDonald and Cynthia Erivo should do a musical film together as a musical duo so they can win Oscars as best actress and best supporting actress so they can both reach EGOT status. Tracy Morgan should get recognized in some way for coining the phrase EGOT. Side note: Cynthia Erivo is the only entertainer to win three of the four major awards within one year for the same project.

Lin-Manuel Miranda has got to win an Oscar for best song eventually. He’s already made two of the best Disney soundtracks ever made.

I would like to see Lin Manual Miranda and Matt Stone and Trey Parker get the EGOT. They are one award from having the EGOT. Yes Trey Parker and Matt Stone the creators of South Park are in the running for an EGOT.

So many names come to mind who are missing just one letter of the prestigious EGOT.

That is not Jonathan Tunick in the video clip! I believe it is Peter Stone, who also won a Tony for the musical Titanic (and whose wife is indeed named Mary, whereas Tunick's wife is Leigh Beery). Mentioning a 5-year genesis should have been a giveaway, as an orchestrator does not get involved until relatively late in the process. Jonathan Tunick is eminently worth honoring, but this is a very shabby way to do it.

My favorite EGOT winner is Alan Menken!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah mine too. Before the 2020 Daytime Emmy win, he was just an honorable EGOT (he got an honorary Emmy Award in 1990s)

It took her 25 years, And she doesn't even actually qualify because one of her awards was honorary not competitive and that's a separate list. 1965 Tony 1972 Oscar 1973 Emmy 1990 Honorary Grammy The fastest completion was Robert Lopez in 9 years. It would be Barbra Streisand in 6, but one of hers is honourary as well.

Hers doesn't really count because her Tony was an honorary award, not a competitive award, so that's a separate list where the EGOT is concerned.
