I freaking LOVED Arthur, The Berenstain Bears, Zoboomafoo, Reading Rainbow, The Magic School Bus, Mister Rodgers Neighborhood, Blue's Clues, and Bill Nye the Science Guy back when I was a kid. Those were the days. I also would have liked to see Liberty's Kids, Book of Virtues, Cyberchase, ZOOM, Jay Jay the Jet Plane, Dragon Tales, Between the Lions, and Bob the Builder. somewhere on this list. Oh the nostalgia.... they definity need to make Another Top 10 Educational Kids Shows list.

An international viewer base. I'm from the UK, so that's people on both sides of the planet that watch this. The point that Hayden is making is that they should have specified American. I'll bet an English, Australian or many other nations Top Ten would get a similar reaction if they didn't specify their own country. I made the same point when they did Top Ten Comediennes and they ignored so many women from other countries who are funnier than most on their list.

I know Arthur and magic school bus, and sesame street, but that's about it. and what the fuck is Yo Gabba Gabba. I thought that was a kids show from south park, from the episode where Ike takes drugs making him go through puperty. and he wants to make love to the female character. and I thought conjuction junction was a Family Guy joke (Cutaway gag from season 1 or 2.) from the episode where peter is in charge of the schools sex educational program. (Vagina junction, whats your function. Taking in sperm and spitting out babies XD) No Horrible Histories either. best educational show for history ever!

I remember watching Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego all the time as a kid! As an adult, I now realize I watched a lot of Canadian shows growing up (there were SO many good series..things on TVO, CBC, YTV, etc)...Some of the shows on this list were actually American-Canadian productions (Arthur, Magic School Bus)...and of course the Canadian PMK. Sigh...feeling so nostalgic.

  • @isirlaughsalot2675

I'm not a 90s kid. I did watch a lot of the 90s shows on reruns (Reading Rainbow, Zoboomafoo, etc.), but I definitely watched a lot of the newer shows like Cyberchase, Maya and Miguel, Arthur, The Berenstain Bears, Fetch!, Between the Lions, Adventures from the Book of Virtues, ZOOM, The Zula Patrol, Sagwa, Redwall, Jay Jay the Jet Plane, Dragon Tales, and Bob the Builder. Oh God. My childhood is flashing in front of me. I NEED to watch these shows again! Those shows were the absolute shit! I watched those RELIGIOUSLY when I was 3-10. PBS will always be the best kids channel to ever exist. Fuck Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network. THIS is the channel to watch for your kids. I know when i have kids I will have these shows on screen for these kids to watch always.

I always found it amazing how _Sesame Street_ (a show aimed preschoolers) dealt with the topic of death. Specifically, the death of actor Will Lee (Mr. Hooper) in 1982. Despite some people saying they should avoid the topic and say Mr Hooper retired and moved away or some such, they tackled it head-on. One of the the most heart-wrenching episodes of a children's education shows ever.

It actually taught important lessons about handling feelings, emotions, and imagination. It even taught some aspects of science. Also, that show was inspired by Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood. Even Mr. Rogers himself loved the show. Furthermore, Mr. Rogers mentored one of the Co-Creators of Blue's Clues.

Ok, this is a long shot, but here goes anyway. When I was a little bastard, for about a week, I was able to pick up a Canadian TV signal even though I live in America. On this channel aired an educational show much like Beakman's world mentioned in this video. It featured a "mad-scientist" and his kid sidekick. The difference is that it not only talked about science, but the BIBLE as well O_O For example, they would first explain the scientific reason why it rains, and then they would explain what God had to do with it. It was the strangest goddamn thing I had ever seen, but I would watch it everyday. Since it was about 12 years ago, I don't remember the name of this show, so I need you guys to thumb up this comment so as many people as possible can tell me the name. Or if you think you know the title, let me know, because I just KNOW someone had to upload it to youtube at some point, and we can watch it together :D lol

Come Outside was very educational. Even for adults! I loved this show so much. Numberjacks, helps younger children with there maths and problem solving. If 5 wasnt in there that show would be nothing thx 5. Do You Know? Similar to Come Outside but Do You Know covers 2 types of questions each in 15 minutes, How does it work? How is it made? Come Outside focuses on one topic like how crisps are made or sometimes a vlog and talk about whats happened or what they have found, which all became very educational. All of this should be on there.

Doctor Who (William Hartnell era mainly as that's how it was originally intended, a history programme for kids. Yeah it had a few BEM moments here and there, but the show didn't go full sci-fi until the Patrick Troughton era)

Doctor Who is, and always will be, a family show, meaning it can appeal to both younger and older audiences. It had two main spin-offs, Sarah Jane Adventures, which is more aimed at kids since it's on CBBC (though it can also appeal to older fans because of its brilliant writing and references to the classic series), and Torchwood, which is aimed primarily at adults.

wish Art Attack was mentioned it was my favorite, of course it was just art, but it taught how to make amazing art out of household items, with an amazing theme song. I forgot to mention Mighty Machines another show that taught kids about machines people used everyday, also had an amazing theme song
