Imperfect Cell absorbing everyone in sight was literally a horror movie

Kinda surprised that Krillin’s death isn’t on here. The fact that he literally blew up in the air and Freiza simply laughed and taunted Goku as it happened was enough to turn Goku Super Saiyan for the first time.

I believe the context is what they were going for in this list. Contextually speaking Krillins death in the original dragonball was more jarring as the original series never tackled death of a hero.

Future Gohan's death was not parodied at all by TFS

The history of trunks scene with gohan dying with the original English music makes it 100x more dark and brutal

4:20 The original version of buu splitting actually had mr.satan and bee get shot but they cut it for the international release

Wanna know how Cell drinks people? He injects them with acid to liquify their insides, and then sucks it all back up.

I'm sorry say this, but at 4:14, that info is a bit off. Yes, Majin Buu got furious when Bee the puppy got shot, but the Evil Buu wasn't released since Satan/Hercule jumped in and defeated the hunters, thus calming Buu down. What made the evil self come out is when, later on, Satan got shot and nearly killed by the same hunter.

This should've been a top 20 list. The ones that were mentioned were definitely dark, but there are so many others that are worth mentioning. At the very least, there should've been some honorable mentions.

Buu’s evil took on physical form after Buu saw Hercule get hurt by the gunman who wasn’t a hunter.

You should have put when Frieza rammed krillin in the chest with his horn and was saying yee hah ride em cowboy while flinging him around

Garlick Jr's defeat was far from being remotely dark, where is Cell absorbing people all aorund.

If there was one scene that could've been added to this list it's when Vegeta was getting the absolute shit kicked out of him by final form frieza on Namek. That scene was just brutal haha

The most darkest moment that I ever seen in Dragonball History is when Frieza has killed all the Saiyans along with the Planet Vegeta. A very dark Dragonball Moment indeed.

I think this is probably more brutal and hard to watch rather than dark, but the brutal beatdown Goku receives by Piccolo at the end of the 23rd World Tournament I think should've been mentioned here at least. Goku first gets impaled by a mouth beam from Piccolo, then after a short scuffle gets elbowed in the exact spot the beam impaled him, then gets both of his legs shattered from Piccolo landing on them using his knees, THEN gets both of his arms broken from Piccolo shooting a beam at them making Goku completely immobile, all the while Goku is screaming at the top of his lungs in utter pain and agony while all his friends watch in horror. Then to top it all off, Goku was going to get utterly pulverized by a final beam attack from Piccolo if he didn't learn the flying technique at the last possible millisecond

For 7, it wasn't because of Bee that made Buu let the Evil Buu out. Yes, when Bee got shot, Buu was getting furious and almost let his evil self out but Hercule got Buu back to normal and beat up the hunters after Bee got shot. It was when Hercule got shot after the hunters returned that made the Evil Buu come out.

What about other darkest Dragon Ball moments like Jiren’s backstory, Goku learns that he is responsible for Grandpa Gohan's death, Super Buu destroys the Earth’s population, the end of the Saiyans, and two Zenos Erase Universe 9?

Majin Vegita might be a little gone further from a simple madman in the budokai tenkaichi arena but he was very well aware of where bulma was and he avoided hitting her with all he got no matter how far gone he is, no one not even himself touches his bulma

I really wish the cell saga was based off trunks timeline sometimes I think it would’ve been awesome and the ideas and tweak the storyline just a bit and you have a saga

Frieza blowing Krillin up: AM I A JOKE TO YOU!?!

How did #9 make it on this list? It's pretty light hearted compared to 70% of all Dragon Ball moments.

Since Toryiama died, it ended up being the darkest moment ever.

Cell absorbing people, Buu eating people, Frieza and his men slaughtering Nameks, Vegeta and Nappa destroying that bug world, Frieza killing Krillin and supposedly Piccolo too, most of the Z-fighters dying against the Saiyans, Goku trapped on Namek, Bulma being killed by Black, Broly blowing up a planet after destroying most if not an entire galaxy, Tapion’s brother’s death and Omega Shenron literally on the verge of destroying the universe. Just a few moments you guys could’ve used instead of ol Garlic Junior getting sealed away again plus honorable mentions.

We just gonna overlook freeza impaling Krillin then horn fucking the hole

Honorable mention should go to Goku's dream during the Android Saga, when he was sick with the heart disease. His dream of the androids showing up and brutally murdering everyone was dark.

Cell steppin on 16 was overkill

The fight between Videl and Spopovich is easily one of the hardest scenes to watch in the entire series. I soooo wanted Gohan to get Spopovich back for that and he never got the chance

Top Ten Most Savage Beatdowns in Dragon Ball

I hope Videl does comeback as a tomboy martial artist we all know and love since she is now a fighting instructor as mentioned in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie.

Imo, future Gohan's death, with the English dub music is hands down the darkest Dragon Ball moment. The situation of helplessness alone makes it the darkest. All the Z fighters died long ago, no dragon balls, a young Trunks left alone in the rain with his mentor's lifeless corpse, enough said!

One thing that i miss from dbz is the all the deaths. You never knew if someone might get killed in the series. I like super but it doesnt have that same intensity because nobody gets killed.

16's death, Cell drinking an entire town through his ass, the insurmountable atrocities that Frieza commits like destroying entire planets, even my boy Vegeta nuking a planet immediately after they thought he and nappa saved them from slavery and several other things were all darker than some of the wishy washy things on this list. The dog? Seriously? Buu saved that dog. He was fine. I can't remember the kid's name, but was that darker than the time that kid's dad got murdered and made him an orphan and the kid cried over his corpse in dragonball? Or even all the deaths in the saiyan saga?

The Bruce Faulconer score would’ve made this great playlist elite

Yamacha finding the androids, getting his life force sucked up by Dr. Gero then stabbed through his Solar Plexus in the process nearly dying. Where's Vegeta's final atonment? Vegeta's sacrifice against Majin Buu has to be one of the grimmest Dragon Ball moments.
