Strongman really has had some hilarious events in the past! Some of my honorable mentions: -the Wrist Roll (WSM 1977 & WSM 1978) - that one looked brutal -Loading race with flour bags (Europe's Strongest Man 1983) -the sleigh push on ice (WSM 1984) -the Swingletree (WSM 1985) -that weird race with the baskets from WSM 1990 -the Pole Push (WSM 1993 & 1994) And of course: -Last Man Standing

@@MyBlocksStrongestMan I wouldn't say you have weird taste. Honestly, I like most of these old events. The reason I pointed out that specific one is because my wrists and foreams fatigue really fast and I would probably die if I had to do something like the wrist roll. Fascinated piece of Strongman history. It shows how far Strongman has come with the systematization of events. No longer are the athletes subject to the ganja induced fantasies of some 70s television producer. However, it also shows that Strongman has always been a spectacle, where the athleticism of the sport is derived from adapting to new situations and events. As Strongman evolves, it's important to push for continued legitimacy and standardization of events for the safety of the athletes while maintaining the unique Strongman "spectacle" that is so unique to the sport.

I like these segments a lot. It would be great if you did more full screen or the clips you’re talking about so we can see better what’s going on. Either way enjoying it! Thanks

I would love to see a one off strongman competition of events like this. Not necessarily these ones events but with some tweaks to some of them ; I think would be amazing to see Brian Shaw and Eddie as teammates!

Back in those days phone books were thicker and harder to tear. The London yellow pages was my PB and party piece.

The pure strength shows 1987-88-89 and 90 were brilliant - The Brick Hod carry in 1990 was like a super yoke really. i was going to mention the hurricane from Manfred 1995 .. But the strangest one i have seen is the skiing one.. In finalnd, i think 1995 or 1996 i have the contest on dvd. The competitors had to have like iron railway tracks on each leg and ski's and had to push themselves to the finishing line mad
