@essence-tially Dacob - long-time lurker, first time commenter 😊 Would you still consider No. 19 Poudre to be a Summer scent, compared to the Spring-leaning EDP? I am a male, and highly appreciative of No. 19 EDT (as well as Cristalle), but am only now testing the Poudre and have yet to smell the EDP… I’ve watched and re-watched your comparisons video of the 4 versions, and appreciate all of your expertise on product and quality of self-understanding to articulate your emotions so vividly with a stream-of-consciousness. Is the EDP overtly “feminine”compared to the EDT or Cristalle for that matter in your opinion? For me the Poudre is more “feminine” than the EDT, but I still feel highly comfortable wearing it.

I still say Chanel needs to hire you as their fragrance ambassador!

Perfumes are magical

Platinum Égoïste and Allure Homme are on my spring list for sure! Antaeus and Allure Homme Sport are also on there. I like Sycomore EDP and I’m starting to enjoy my 8401 batch a bit more as it seems to be macerating nicely.

Is Platinum Egoiste better that Egoiste ? I had not smelled Egoiste until recently and I feel like the scent has changed since the 1990s

I love how you know so much about it. Where did you learn all those details about the history, but also the chemicals of the fragrance? I want to learn to smell the notes, differences between EDT, EDP, P etc. too.

Thanks for all the great history of these perfumes. I have Misia and Bois des Violettes. Both are wonderful, and each belong very much to their brand. Did Sheldrake have a hand in both of those? And Feminite du Bois, I wonder which is its Chanel sister? Great video.

On my Chanel Spring Perfumes list you will find these five treasures: 31 rue Cambon (it’s all iris and lily-esque on me), Bois des Iles (to stay warm on cold Spring evenings), Paris-Edimbourg (heavenly wet earth and newly-sprouted greens), Paris-Biarritz (for the Springtime lily-of-the-valley of course!) and Paris-Paris because it’s perfect for cold, damp, Spring mornings, and well…”Springtime in Paris”, after all 😊!

For South Florida spring I love Eau Premiere and Coco Mademoiselle edp. I have no.19 Poudre but wish I had gotten No.19 edp. Need to try No.5 edt

Thank you SO MUCH for these knowledge-filled videos!! I’ve decided I can either buy one luxury Chanel fragrance per month or a bunch of cheap fragrances (like my Cabotine and 4711 flankers). It’s worth it to buy the ONE luxury fragrance, IMO. 😊❤❤❤

18 takes a lot of time to grow on people. Its very complex and nuanced. Not an easy love but one needs to train the palate with it like with coffee or other particular flavors that are not particularly pleasant or nice at first.

For me? I'm about to take out my rosy, dewy Chanel No. 5 eau première. Glad to see Cristalle there... definitely! And, all the green scents... No. 19, Bel Respiro. Are you keeping Les Exclusifs eau de cologne for the summer?

Dior Forever and Ever Dior, Miss Dior Rose Essence, Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Teazzurra, Chanel Gardenia EDP, Trash McEvoy #3 Snowdrop and Crystal Flower; those give me Spring! Idk if you take requests, but the most important perfume video that hasn't been made yet is the one that asks the question, "What perfume(s) did the characters in the most important film of the '80s known as Working Girl wear"? What did Tess McGill wear at the beginning of the movie, and what did she wear at the end? Did Jack buy her something for her new job? We know what Katharine wore when she was trying it with Jack, but what did she wear at the office? Or on vacation? What did Jack wear? The most negative friend ever, Cynthia; we know it was cheap, but how cheap? That scoundrel Mick, what ghastly creation did he wear to Cynthia's party, etc. You're honestly the only perfume reviewer that can answer these questions!

Oh how much I love Working Girl and its soundtrack too! Fabulous. I need to think about all the perfumes the characters would be wearing and also would they just be wearing perfumes that had been released up until that time or would newer perfumes from the 90’s, 00’s, 10’s and 20’s also be allowed? Gee… this makes me think… its been almost forty years since Working Girl was released 🫣🫣🫣

@@essence-tiallydacob9611 Omg, I didn't even think of that! What did they wear during the late '80s and what was their fragrance evolution/trajectory, now that they're in their 60/70s. You're posing the deeper question of what happened to the characters. We know Katharine is concerned with keeping up appearances and therefore she'd more likely to keep up with trends. And because of her wealth, she's going to buy the best stuff, but where will she draw the line with more classic notes/compositions vs. more artistic expressions of niche perfumery? We also know that Tess was a perfume lover, as she applied it twice in the movie. Magie Noire in Kath's crib and the Lauder looking bottle at the reception.The question is, did Tess stay true to her humble roots or did she latch onto the corporate upper middle ideals and slowly morph into a glamour puss and therefore, how did her fragrance journey evolve? Jack is a bit of a mystery and seems to be split between two worlds. I have so much more to think about, now! I wish I could get in a time machine and walk through the movie and smell everyone. The mind of a perfume nerd, lol

In fact Bel Respiro was Coco Chanel's villa situated in Garches (west of Paris). She bought it in 1920, shortly after the death of Boy Capel. La Pausa, she has built in 1928 (hence perhaps the name 28 LA PAUSA), is situated in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, a few kilometers from Monaco. She sold it in 1954 and in 2015 was acquired by Chanel.

@@essence-tiallydacob9611 I saw your ULTIMATE CHANEL BOOK GUIDE. You've made me discover "The improbable Return of Coco Chanel", by Richard Parker which I didn't know. But I don't remember the book about the houses and places of Coco. May I ask you if you have the title ? If you read French, I recommend L'ENFANCE DE CHANEL by Henri Ponchon (2016). He demonstrates, after very serious research - dismantling the legend- that she may NOT have stayed in Aubazine at all, nor in Moulins (or very little time). Coco's childhood still remains a mystery... Love Chanel and your Channel :)

You already wrote this comment a few days ago on another one of my videos. My reply remains the same so I do not know why you keep writing the same comment? Would you like to do that extra work for me Luncida? Would only take you about two to three extra hours of work with editing, post production and re uploading each video. And don't forget that there is no budget to pay you. So let me know when you are ready to do all that extra work for free dear. We are all waiting for you.
