Can you do a video covering what happens if you turn only using the rudder and keep wings level. Saw a RC video and well respected chap saying this is a safe way to turn at low altitude. Coming from full size gliding years ago and now flying RC I was always taught coordinated flight was the safest. Can you comment or do avideo covering this please. (Flat turn with rudder only, possible opposite aileron ) many thanks

  • @alexmoreland7938

Turning with rudder while keeping the wings level (if that’s what you mean) is a skidding turn. If you stall while skidding, there is a good chance of a spin developing. You mentioned the R/C guy doing this at low level. Don’t ever do this, you can’t recover from a spin at low altitude. You are correct, a coordinated turn is safer. Slipping is generally safe as well, just don’t skid.

Opinions vary. I've heard some say as little as 10 kts all the way to 35 kts. If you're going from the smallest 'stock' tires to the largest available, I'd say closer to the 35 mentioned. No personal experience myself as I'm sticking with the 8.5x6's on my Maule for now. Skal, ^v^

the prop thinghy, if zou keep adding power (actual hp, kW) to a 2 bladed prop you would start to loose efficiency. thats where 3+ bladed props kick in. also, a tire is a tire, on a bicycle, motorbike, tractor, gocart, car, truck, airplane. cessna or 737. wheel hub/rim is another. together they make a wheel (assembly; as per boeing/airbus/crj/canadair/atr amm) as we know it
