Excellent video Sarah . I have them all except rainforest and seaweed but my studio has a gallon of seaweed so I really do have it. . I decided on storm instead of rainforest but feel like I need to have rainforest now. I do love sky and ancient copper . I got a bunch more for Christmas and have test tiles/ test tiny bowls drying so I can test them . I have about 20 combos on my list. Love all your videos. They fire at a hot cone 6 in my studio and I feel my textured turquoise go a bit yellow and patchy but I am going to try the obsidian TT combo and hopefully I get some nice colors. 💕

Hi Sarah! I love when you discuss glazes. I will have to rewatch the earlier video where you show many you invented by mixing them together! That video blew me away!! In that video, you mixed weeping plum with snow and created a delicate, soft pink. I now use this pink exclusively!! Mayco's Pink Opal is too much!, Weeping Plum, alone, too plum, but the beauty of the mixed new Celedon is magic! Thank you from Farmington Hills, Michigan USA!

Thank you for sharing your top 10 Sarah- with examples and test tiles, really helpful. I am a beginner but got into handbuilding because I am fascinated by glazing and the infinite combinations. I will admit to 36 Potters choice and Celadon glazes but I live in the middle of nowhere and I hate ordering online. When I get to civilization, I stock up. I have most of your top 10 and would add ancient copper as my 11th! Sadly it has been discontinued. Mayco are not as expensive as Amaco and I see some interesting combos with those glazes. Just got a sample box of 12 4 oz jars for $35 which seems like a good buy in order to try them out. Anyway, love your videos, you make such a difference to us beginners , and you do make me laugh! Worth every cent. I always ask for visa gift cards as gifts and can't think of a better way to use up the last few $. Just a note on glazes, Lisa Finkle from Prince Edward Island says that Mayco alabaster is the base for winter wood and so she uses a couple of coats of the base under the winter wood, partly for economy but also to tone down the winter wood as it is quite strong . I think Mayco sometimes mentions the base glaze on their glazing pages which also makes glazing more interesting. I shall investigate further :) @@thepotterycorner

Hi Nat - great to hear from you again. Blue Rutile is stable - no problem. Might not stay stable if underneath one of the movers and shakers like Oatmeal or Seaweed for instance. 😊

Why no red or yellow? Anyhow thanks for your experimentations and explainations, quite attractive and clear.

Hi Brigitte. I find red glazes pretty tricky. There isn't much that I like. Amaco Marigold is OK but not my favourite colour. Thanks for watching 😊

Hi Carol. My Glaze program goes to 1225 degrees centigrade. My kiln is hotter at the bottom where it's a full cone 6 and cooler at the top where its 5.5. Thanks for watching. Hope that helps 😊

Hiya and thanks for watching. I glaze fire to 1212 degrees centigrade which in my kiln is a cone 6. I have reduced my firing from 1225 degrees as it was too hot for some of the glaze colours. Hope that helps 😊👍

Hi! Are these your 10 (+bonus) AMACO glazes or top 10 overall glazes? 😎😎 Cuz, we could use a list of your MAYCO, Spectrum, Opulence, or any other glazes too! *Yes, I'm just begging for more of your superior videos!

Ha ha - I'm already planning a Mayco Top 10 due to popular demand! These 10 (well 11) are more or less the glazes we use in the studio everyday - and they mix and layer really well. Thanks so much for making me chuckle 😁

Love all your choices. I’ve been working with clay only 1 year and have over 150 glazes! Addicted! I made a studio in my big garage and produce up to 4 pieces daily. I now know my calling, and obsession! You are a wonderful teacher,, speaker and overall lovely! Thank you, I have binge watched your videos and am thrilled..
