Late comment, but I have to agree as Metalcore takes alot of Influences from many early metal bands and even some thrash metal bands and very early metalcore bands. I like to think the reason why metalcore has such good riffs, is because they are taking inspiration from some groove elements and some other elements.

This band has been one of my favorites for 12 years now. I remember thinking that "There is a Hell" was their best album. Some of their new stuff is a bit too pop for me but I still like it. I even liked Nihilist Blues. They never make the same album twice, yet their sound is always recognizable. Definitely a bunch of creative dudes. I also think their drummer is criminally underappreciated. He always finds the best beat for the occasion.
We definetly need a part 2 of this!😉

oh fun fact about chelsea smile (credit to that random dude in the chelsea smile comment section), the song is based off of this british punishment from the 1600s ish called (you guessed it) the "chelsea smile" where if someone's wife would keep secrets from their husbands (gore warning kinda) they would have their mouth cut (kinda like the joker) and depending on how severe the secret is they would also rip off their jaws sometimes. this led to the lyric "I've got a secret, it's on the tip of my tongue, it's on the back of my lungs, and I'm, I'm gin a keep it, I know something you don't know". like I said above i didn't find this, this was from some dood in the comments of the official video for chelsea smile I don't take credit for this lmao

Imo I enjoy every single Era of Bmth I loved the deathcore age (suicide season, count ur blessings ). I also love the heavy pop rock era(that's the spirit, amo-which is heavily under-rated and is criticized too often) but tbh the best Era was the metalcore (Sempiternal and There IS A Hell) honestly the 2 best metalcore albums I've ever heard among one of the GREATS, Oli's songwriting and beautifully executed vocals, Matt's drumming, Lee's riffs, the addition of cool electronic elements with Jordan as a keyboardist and Kean with the dope bass lines as always, the unique style and crossover with metal and thousands of genres between these 2 albums, just orgasmic

Count Your Blessings came out just when I got my first electric guitar, and learning songs like Black And Blue had such a huge impact on my playing, it really gave me that skill boost I needed to improve my speed and technique.
