I saw the title of this video and immediately thought "Rossi's gonna have about 5 of these...", lol. Forgot how much of a wildman Scheckter was! Get me to Sunday, Motorsports Christmas!
Alexander Rossi and Tomas Schekter are the main drivers I can think of when it comes to making daredevil moves in the sport!

Tomas Scheckter: Lunatic? Genius? Yes.
As a long time NASCAR fan who has been watching Indycar the last few years it's head and shoulders above any other motorsport right now.

It's really good to see. It's a long shot but I'd love to see Indycar return to the level of following it had in the late 90s.

@@ingolfura.4327 yes but in f1, if there are 3 overtakes during the duration of the race, it’s considered a fascinating race. Trust me, I’ve been getting into f1 these past two years. DRS trains, money>pure skill, minimal overtakes, FIA is an open rule book.

Rossi not winning the 500 since his debut really doesn't tell the full story. What a driver he really is.

I guess most of these drivers do have. They show a great fair play as well yet trying hard when needed.Ovals are so dangerous and a mutual correct behaviour is a must.I'm any longer a big fan but I still am cheering at these guys' performances.
Seeing this reminded me why Schekter was my favorite indy driver until Sato to town.
Tomas Scheckter was a mad man.

Thomas Sheckter managed to pass 14 cars in 1 lap without the announcers even being able to identify the car making the crazy passes as Thomas Sheckter. It's actually impressive how untalented sports broadcasters can be at their profession while still not getting fired for it.
Scheckter's moves are some of the best moves I have ever seen in motorsports.
Great job mate. Schekter in 2011 was exactly what I thought of it and I never expect that people remember it.
Alexander Rossi is my favorite driver and moments like these show why. Fearless
Tomas Scheckter shouldn't have gotten away with half the shit he got away with. Though I suppose he didn't considering how many DNF's he racked up.

I’d add an outside pass by Victor Miera on Dixon near the end of the 2008 race. He BARELY cleared Carpenter. It was nuts!
Wooow 14 cars in 1 lap that is mega impressive with also the fact that the lap time is like 25-30 seconds
Absolutely nuts that people stood in the wall separating the track and pit lane

in 10-25 years time we will look back at how close fans got to stand to the cars and we will say that we were crazy (which is kinda true) but you can only do so much. even with 1955 le mans the fans were behind 3+ rows of hay bales. it itches at my brain every single 500. tony renna. with kyle kirkwoods rear right almost hitting the fans in the crowd, but instead hitting a car should of been the wakeup call. i tear up at the thought of a tony renna accident on raceday.
Thomas Sheckter was a madman
Say what you will about the old Dallara IR-05, it certainly made for some good side-by-side racing in the corners at Indy.

without watching the video yet my favorite in recent memory is Ryan Hunter Reay's pass on i believe it was Castroneves going into turn 3 and almost clipped the grass

as an alexander rossi fan I can confirm that watching him race gives you 5 heart attacks per race
That looked kinda crazy but that was some very impressive driving...thats when u know excactly how big ur car is an excactly where it will fit....cough arggh at 220....nice
3:27 Never personally understood the hype around Rossi although I'm more of an F1 fan and have only watched Indycar for a few years but man that was one of the coolest things I've seen a driver do.
I still would’ve included the sato pass attempt. You can NEVER say Sato doesn’t want to win
Rossi and Schekter rock the marbles.
I think the bravest one wasn't successful, Sato trying to stick in turn one in 2012 even though there was no chance.
Why do we have to put music in everything. Ruins the video.
That last one didn’t even look real
Vitor meira's overtake in 2008
"put it where they won't"

I was just thinking about that. He crashed out on the last lap, and everyone remembers that. But for him to be in 2nd he had to follow Franchitti on a pass on Dixon. The Target guys had been playing follow the leader with each other, and Sato had to glue the front wing to Franchitti's gearbox in a hella-impressive move to even get into 2nd... but then he crashed out so yeah.
Tomas Scheckter was sometimes too aggressive for his own good. Had he dialed it down a notch, the success he would have enjoyed.
